The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said to al-Abbas ibn AbdulMuttalib: Abbas, my uncle, shall I not give you, shall I not present to you, shall I not donate to you, shall I not produce for you ten things? If you act upon them, Allah will forgive you your sins, first and last, old and new, involuntary and voluntary, small and great, secret and open. These are the ten things: you should pray four rak'ahs, reciting in each one Fatihat al-Kitab and a surah. When you finish the recitation of the first rak'ah you should say fifteen times while standing: "Glory be to Allah", "Praise be to Allah", "There is no god but Allah", "Allah is most great". Then you should bow and say it ten times while bowing. Then you should raise your head after bowing and say it ten times. Then you should kneel down in prostration and say it ten times while prostrating yourself. Then you should raise your head after prostration and say it ten times. Then you should prostrate yourself and say it ten times. Then you should raise your head after prostrating and say it ten times in every rak'ah. You should do that in four rak'ahs. If you can observe it once daily, do so; if not, then once weekly; if not, then once a month; if not, then once a year; if not, then once in your lifetime.  

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ قَالَ لِلْعَبَّاسِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الْمُطَّلِبِ يَا عَبَّاسُ يَا عَمَّاهُ أَلاَ أُعْطِيكَ أَلاَ أَمْنَحُكَ أَلاَ أَحْبُوكَ أَلاَ أَفْعَلُ بِكَ عَشْرَ خِصَالٍ إِذَا أَنْتَ فَعَلْتَ ذَلِكَ غَفَرَ اللَّهُ لَكَ ذَنْبَكَ أَوَّلَهُ وَآخِرَهُ قَدِيمَهُ وَحَدِيثَهُ خَطَأَهُ وَعَمْدَهُ صَغِيرَهُ وَكَبِيرَهُ سِرَّهُ وَعَلاَنِيَتَهُ عَشْرَ خِصَالٍ أَنْ تُصَلِّيَ أَرْبَعَ رَكَعَاتٍ تَقْرَأُ فِي كُلِّ رَكْعَةٍ فَاتِحَةَ الْكِتَابِ وَسُورَةً فَإِذَا فَرَغْتَ مِنَ الْقِرَاءَةِ فِي أَوَّلِ رَكْعَةٍ وَأَنْتَ قَائِمٌ قُلْتَ سُبْحَانَ اللَّهِ وَالْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ وَلاَ إِلَهَ إِلاَّ اللَّهُ وَاللَّهُ أَكْبَرُ خَمْسَ عَشْرَةَ مَرَّةً ثُمَّ تَرْكَعُ فَتَقُولُهَا وَأَنْتَ رَاكِعٌ عَشْرًا ثُمَّ تَرْفَعُ رَأْسَكَ مِنَ الرُّكُوعِ فَتَقُولُهَا عَشْرًا ثُمَّ تَهْوِي سَاجِدًا فَتَقُولُهَا وَأَنْتَ سَاجِدٌ عَشْرًا ثُمَّ تَرْفَعُ رَأْسَكَ مِنَ السُّجُودِ فَتَقُولُهَا عَشْرًا ثُمَّ تَسْجُدُ فَتَقُولُهَا عَشْرًا ثُمَّ تَرْفَعُ رَأْسَكَ فَتَقُولُهَا عَشْرًا فَذَلِكَ خَمْسٌ وَسَبْعُونَ فِي كُلِّ رَكْعَةٍ تَفْعَلُ ذَلِكَ فِي أَرْبَعِ رَكَعَاتٍ إِنِ اسْتَطَعْتَ أَنْ تُصَلِّيَهَا فِي كُلِّ يَوْمٍ مَرَّةً فَافْعَلْ فَإِنْ لَمْ تَفْعَلْ فَفِي كُلِّ جُمُعَةٍ مَرَّةً فَإِنْ لَمْ تَفْعَلْ فَفِي كُلِّ شَهْرٍ مَرَّةً فَإِنْ لَمْ تَفْعَلْ فَفِي كُلِّ سَنَةٍ مَرَّةً فَإِنْ لَمْ تَفْعَلْ فَفِي عُمُرِكَ مَرَّةً  

“The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said to ‘Abbas bin ‘Abdul-Muttalib: ‘O ‘Abbas, O my uncle, shall I not give you a gift, shall I not give you something, shall I not tell you of something which, if you do it, will expiate for ten types of sins? If you do them, Allah will forgive you your sins, the first and the last of them, the old and the new, the unintentional and the deliberate, the minor and the major, the secret and the open, ten types of sin. Pray four Rak’ah, and recite in each Rak’ah the Opening of the Book (Al-Fatihah) and a Surah. When you have finished reciting in the first Rak’ah, while you are standing, say: Subhan-Allah wal- hamdu Lillah wa la ilaha illallah wa Allahu Akbar (Glory if to Allah, praise is to Allah, none has the right to be worshipped but Allah and Allah is the Most Great) fifteen times. Then bow and say it ten times while you are bowing. Then raise your head from Ruku’ and say it ten times. Then go into prostration and say it ten times while you are prostrating. Then raise your head from prostration and say it ten times. Then prostrate and say it ten times. Then raise your head from prostration and say it ten times. That will be seventy-five times in each Rak’ah. Do that in all four Rak’ah. If you can pray it once each day then do so. If you cannot, then once each week; if you cannot, then once each month. If you cannot, then once in your lifetime.’”  

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ لِلْعَبَّاسِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الْمُطَّلِبِ يَا عَبَّاسُ يَا عَمَّاهُ أَلاَ أُعْطِيكَ أَلاَ أَمْنَحُكَ أَلاَ أَحْبُوكَ أَلاَ أَفْعَلُ لَكَ عَشْرَ خِصَالٍ إِذَا أَنْتَ فَعَلْتَ ذَلِكَ غَفَرَ اللَّهُ لَكَ ذَنْبَكَ أَوَّلَهُ وَآخِرَهُ وَقَدِيمَهُ وَحَدِيثَهُ وَخَطَأَهُ وَعَمْدَهُ وَصَغِيرَهُ وَكَبِيرَهُ وَسِرَّهُ وَعَلاَنِيَتَهُ عَشْرُ خِصَالٍ أَنْ تُصَلِّيَ أَرْبَعَ رَكَعَاتٍ تَقْرَأُ فِي كُلِّ رَكْعَةٍ بِفَاتِحَةِ الْكِتَابِ وَسُورَةٍ فَإِذَا فَرَغْتَ مِنَ الْقِرَاءَةِ فِي أَوَّلِ رَكْعَةٍ قُلْتَ وَأَنْتَ قَائِمٌ سُبْحَانَ اللَّهِ وَالْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ وَلاَ إِلَهَ إِلاَّ اللَّهُ وَاللَّهُ أَكْبَرُ خَمْسَ عَشْرَةَ مَرَّةً ثُمَّ تَرْكَعُ فَتَقُولُ وَأَنْتَ رَاكِعٌ عَشْرًا ثُمَّ تَرْفَعُ رَأْسَكَ مِنَ الرُّكُوعِ فَتَقُولُهَا عَشْرًا ثُمَّ تَهْوِي سَاجِدًا فَتَقُولُهَا وَأَنْتَ سَاجِدٌ عَشْرًا ثُمَّ تَرْفَعُ رَأْسَكَ مِنَ السُّجُودِ فَتَقُولُهَا عَشْرًا ثُمَّ تَسْجُدُ فَتَقُولُهَا عَشْرًا ثُمَّ تَرْفَعُ رَأْسَكَ مِنَ السُّجُودِ فَتَقُولُهَا عَشْرًا فَذَلِكَ خَمْسَةٌ وَسَبْعُونَ فِي كُلِّ رَكْعَةٍ تَفْعَلُ فِي أَرْبَعِ رَكَعَاتٍ إِنِ اسْتَطَعْتَ أَنْ تُصَلِّيَهَا فِي كُلِّ يَوْمٍ مَرَّةً فَافْعَلْ فَإِنْ لَمْ تَسْتَطِعْ فَفِي كُلِّ جُمُعَةٍ مَرَّةً فَإِنْ لَمْ تَفْعَلْ فَفِي كُلِّ شَهْرٍ مَرَّةً فَإِنْ لَمْ تَفْعَلْ فَفِي عُمُرِكَ مَرَّةً  

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said to Al-Abbas ibn Abd al-Muttalib, "O Abbas, O my uncle, shall I not give you, shall I not love you, shall I not reward you, shall I not do for you ten things that, if you do them, Allah will forgive your sins, past and future, old and new, intentional and unintentional? These ten things are: praying four rak'ahs, beginning with takbeer, then reciting Al-Fatiha and a Surah, then saying upon finishing the recitation of the Surah while standing: Subhanallah, Alhamdulillah, La ilaha illallah, Allahu Akbar fifteen times. Then you prostrate and say ten times, and then you raise your head and say ten times while standing. Then you prostrate and say ten times, and then you raise your head and say ten times while standing. This is seventy-five times in each rak'ah. If you are able to pray this once every day, then do so. And if you cannot, then once every Jumu'ah. And if you cannot, then once every month. And if you cannot, then once every year. And if you cannot, then once in your lifetime." Abu Ali al-Rudhbary reported to us, Muhammad ibn Bakr informed us, Abu Dawud informed us, Abdul Rahman ibn Bishr ibn al-Hakam al-Naysaboori mentioned it to us, and he added the smaller and larger numbers before mentioning the intentional and unintentional sins, and it is as if it fell upon me or upon my teacher while dictating. Abu Bakr Ahmad ibn al-Hasan al-Qadi informed us, Hajib ibn Ahmad informed us, Muhammad ibn Rafi' reported to us, Ibrahim ibn al-Hakam ibn Aban narrated to me from my father, from Ikrimah, that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said to Abbas, "O Abbas, O uncle of the Messenger of Allah, shall I not give you?" And he mentioned it sent and in a similar manner.  

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ لِلْعَبَّاسِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الْمُطَّلِبِ يَا عَبَّاسُ يَا عَمَّاهُ أَلَا أُعْطِيكَ أَلَا أَحْبُوكَ أَلَا أَجْزِيكَ أَلَا أَفْعَلُ لَكَ عَشْرَ خِصَالٍ إِذَا أَنْتَ فَعَلْتَ ذَلِكَ غَفَرَ اللهُ لَكَ ذَنْبَكَ أَوَّلَهُ وَآخِرَهُ قَدِيمَهُ وَحَدِيثَهُ عَمْدَهُ وَخَطَأَهُ سِرَّهُ وَعَلَانِيَتَهُ عَشْرُ خِصَالٍ أَنْ تُصَلَّيَ أَرْبَعَ رَكَعَاتٍ تَبْدَأُ فَتُكَبِّرُ ثُمَّ تَقْرَأُ بِفَاتِحَةِ الْكِتَابِ وَسُورَةٍ ثُمَّ تَقُولُ عِنْدَ فَرَاغِكَ مِنَ السُّورَةِ وَأَنْتَ قَائِمٌ سُبْحَانَ اللهِ وَالْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ وَلَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللهُ وَاللهُ أَكْبَرُ خَمْسَ عَشْرَةَ مَرَّةً ثُمَّ تَرْكَعُ فَتَقُولُ وَأَنْتَ رَاكِعٌ عَشْرًا ثُمَّ تَرْفَعُ فَتَقُولُ وَأَنْتَ قَائِمٌ عَشْرًا ثُمَّ تَسْجُدُ فَتَقُولُ عَشْرًا ثُمَّ تَرْفَعُ فَتَقُولُ عَشْرًا ثُمَّ تَسْجُدُ فَتَقُولُ عَشْرًا ثُمَّ تَرْفَعُ فَتَقُولُ عَشْرًا فَذَلِكَ خَمْسٌ وَسَبْعُونَ مَرَّةً فِي كُلِّ رَكْعَةٍ إِنِ اسْتَطَعْتَ أَنْ تُصَلِّيَ كُلَّ يَوْمٍ مَرَّةً فَافْعَلْ وَإِنْ لَمْ تَسْتَطِعْ فَفِي كُلِّ جُمُعَةٍ مَرَّةً وَإِنْ لَمْ تَسْتَطِعْ فَفِي كُلِّ شَهْرٍ مَرَّةً فَإِنْ لَمْ تَسْتَطِعْ فَفِي كُلِّ سَنَةٍ مَرَّةً فَإِنْ لَمْ تَسْتَطِعْ فَفِي عُمُرِكَ مَرَّةً

4917 أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو عَلِيٍّ الرُّوذْبَارِيُّ أنبأ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَكْرٍ ثنا أَبُو دَاوُدَ ثنا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ بِشْرِ بْنِ الْحَكَمِ النَّيْسَابُورِيُّ فَذَكَرَهُ بِمَعْنَاهُ وَزَادَ صَغِيرَهُ وَكَبِيرَهُ قَبْلَ قَوْلِهِ سِرَّهُ وَعَلَانِيَتَهُ وَكَأَنَّهُ سَقَطَ عَلَيَّ أَوْ عَلَى شَيْخِي فِي الْإِمْلَاءِ

4918 وَأَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو بَكْرٍ أَحْمَدُ بْنُ الْحَسَنِ الْقَاضِي أنبأ حَاجِبُ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ أنبأ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ رَافِعٍ ثنا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ الْحَكَمِ بْنِ أَبَانَ حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي عَنْ عِكْرِمَةَ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ يَا عَبَّاسُ يَا عَمَّ رَسُولِ اللهِ أَلَا أُهْدِي لَكَ فَذَكَرَهُ بِمَعْنَاهُ مُرْسَلًا وَكَذَلِكَ  

AbulJawza' said: A man who attended the company of the Prophet ﷺ narrated to me (it is thought that he was Abdullah ibn Amr): The Prophet ﷺ said to me: Come to me tomorrow; I shall give you something, I shall give you something, I shall reward you something, I shall donate something to you. I thought that he would give me some present. He said (to me when I came to him): When the day declines, stand up and pray four rak'ahs. He then narrated something similar. This version adds: Do not stand until you glorify Allah ten times, and praise Him ten times, and exalt Him ten times, and say, "There is no god but Allah" ten times. Then you should do that in four rak'ahs. If you are the greatest sinner on earth, you will be forgiven (by Allah) on account of this (prayer). I asked: If I cannot pray this the appointed hour, (what should I do)? He replied: Pray that by night or by day (at any time). Abu Dawud said: Habban b. Hilal is the maternal uncle of Hilal al-Ra'i. Abu Dawud said: This tradition has been narrated by al-Mustamir b. al-Riyyan from Ibn al-Jawza' from 'Abd Allah b. 'Amr without referring to the Prophet ﷺ, - narrated as a statement of 'Abd Allah b. 'Amr himself (mauquf). This has also been narrated by Rawh b. al-Musayyab, and Ja'far b. Sulaiman from 'Amr b. Malik al-Nakri from Abu al-Jauza' from Ibn 'Abbas as his own statement (and not the statement of the Prophet). But the version of Rawh has the words: "The tradition of the Prophet ﷺ."  

قَالَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ ائْتِنِي غَدًا أَحْبُوكَ وَأُثِيبُكَ وَأُعْطِيكَ حَتَّى ظَنَنْتُ أَنَّهُ يُعْطِينِي عَطِيَّةً قَالَ إِذَا زَالَ النَّهَارُ فَقُمْ فَصَلِّ أَرْبَعَ رَكَعَاتٍ فَذَكَرَ نَحْوَهُ قَالَ تَرْفَعُ رَأْسَكَ يَعْنِي مِنَ السَّجْدَةِ الثَّانِيَةِ فَاسْتَوِ جَالِسًا وَلاَ تَقُمْ حَتَّى تُسَبِّحَ عَشْرًا وَتَحْمَدَ عَشْرًا وَتُكَبِّرَ عَشْرًا وَتُهَلِّلَ عَشْرًا ثُمَّ تَصْنَعُ ذَلِكَ فِي الأَرْبَعِ رَكَعَاتٍ قَالَ فَإِنَّكَ لَوْ كُنْتَ أَعْظَمَ أَهْلِ الأَرْضِ ذَنْبًا غُفِرَ لَكَ بِذَلِكَ قُلْتُ فَإِنْ لَمْ أَسْتَطِعْ أَنْ أُصَلِّيَهَا تِلْكَ السَّاعَةَ قَالَ صَلِّهَا مِنَ اللَّيْلِ وَالنَّهَارِ  

That an al-Ansari narrated to him: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said to Ja'far. He then narrated the tradition in like manner. This version has the words: "In the second prostration of the first rak'ah" in addition to the words transmitted by Mahdi b. Maimun (in the previous tradition).  

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ قَالَ لِجَعْفَرٍ بِهَذَا الْحَدِيثِ فَذَكَرَ نَحْوَهُمْ قَالَ فِي السَّجْدَةِ الثَّانِيَةِ مِنَ الرَّكْعَةِ الأُولَى كَمَا قَالَ فِي حَدِيثِ مَهْدِيِّ بْنِ مَيْمُونٍ  

Umm Sulaim came upon the Prophet and said: "Teach me some words that I can say in my Salat." So he said: "Mention Allah's Greatness (saying: Allahu Akbar) ten times, mention Allah's Glory (saying: Subhan Allah) ten times, and mention Allah's praise (saying: Al-Hamdulilah) ten times. Then ask as you like, (for which) He says: 'Yes. Yes.'"  

أَنَّ أُمَّ سُلَيْمٍ غَدَتْ عَلَى النَّبِيِّ ﷺ فَقَالَتْ عَلِّمْنِي كَلِمَاتٍ أَقُولُهُنَّ فِي صَلاَتِي فَقَالَ كَبِّرِي اللَّهَ عَشْرًا وَسَبِّحِي اللَّهَ عَشْرًا وَاحْمَدِيهِ عَشْرًا ثُمَّ سَلِي مَا شِئْتِ يَقُولُ نَعَمْ نَعَمْ قَالَ وَفِي الْبَابِ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ وَعَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَمْرٍو وَالْفَضْلِ بْنِ عَبَّاسٍ وَأَبِي رَافِعٍ  

"Umm Sulaim came to the Prophet ﷺ and said: 'O Messenger of Allah ﷺ, teach me some words that I may supplicate with during my prayer.' He said: 'Glorify Allah (by saying SubhanAllah) ten times, and praise Him (by saying Alhamdulilah) ten times, and magnify Him (by saying Allahu Akbar) ten times, then ask Him for what you need; He will say: 'Yes, yes.' (Using translation from Nasāʾī 1299)   

أَنَّ أُمَّ سُلَيْمٍ غَدَتْ عَلَى النَّبِيِّ ﷺ فَقَالَتْ عَلِّمْنِي كَلِمَاتٍ أَقُولُهُنَّ فِي صَلَاتِي فَقَالَ كَبِّرِي اللَّهَ عَشْرًا وَسَبِّحِي اللَّهَ عَشْرًا أَوِ احْمَدِيهِ عَشْرًا ثُمَّ سَلِي مَا شِئْتِ يَقُولُ نَعَمْ نَعَمْ  

Messenger of Allah said to Al-Abbas: "O uncle! Shall I not give to you, shall I not present to you, shall I not benefit you?" He said: "Of course, O Messenger of Allah!" He said: "O uncle! Pray four Rak'ah, reciting in each Rak'ah Fatihatil-Kitab and a Surah. When you are finished your recitation then say: Allahu Akbar, wal-hamdulilah, wa Subhan-Allah, [Wa La Ilaha illallah] 'Allah is Greatest, and all praise is due to Allah, and Glorious is Allah, [and there is none worthy of worship except Allah].' fifteen times before you bow. Then bow and say it ten times, then raise your head and say it ten times. Then prostrate [the second time] and say it ten times. Then raise your head and say it ten times before standing. That is seventy-five in every Rak'ah, which is three-hundred in four Rak'ah. If your sins were like a heap of sand then Allah would forgive you." He said: "O Messenger if Allah! Who is able to say that every day?" He said: "If you can not say it every day then say it every Friday, and if you are not able to say it every Friday then say it every month." And he did not stop saying that until he said: "Then say it every year."  

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ لِلْعَبَّاسِ يَا عَمِّ أَلاَ أَصِلُكَ أَلاَ أَحْبُوكَ أَلاَ أَنْفَعُكَ قَالَ بَلَى يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ قَالَ يَا عَمِّ صَلِّ أَرْبَعَ رَكَعَاتٍ تَقْرَأُ فِي كُلِّ رَكْعَةٍ بِفَاتِحَةِ الْكِتَابِ وَسُورَةٍ فَإِذَا انْقَضَتِ الْقِرَاءَةُ فَقُلِ اللَّهُ أَكْبَرُ وَالْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ وَسُبْحَانَ اللَّهِ وَلاَ إِلَهَ إِلاَّ اللَّهُ خَمْسَ عَشْرَةَ مَرَّةً قَبْلَ أَنْ تَرْكَعَ ثُمَّ ارْكَعْ فَقُلْهَا عَشْرًا ثُمَّ ارْفَعْ رَأْسَكَ فَقُلْهَا عَشْرًا ثُمَّ اسْجُدْ فَقُلْهَا عَشْرًا ثُمَّ ارْفَعْ رَأْسَكَ فَقُلْهَا عَشْرًا ثُمَّ اسْجُدِ الثَّانِيَةَ فَقُلْهَا عَشْرًا ثُمَّ ارْفَعْ رَأْسَكَ فَقُلْهَا عَشْرًا قَبْلَ أَنْ تَقُومَ فَتِلْكَ خَمْسٌ وَسَبْعُونَ فِي كُلِّ رَكْعَةٍ وَهِيَ ثَلاَثُمِائَةٍ فِي أَرْبَعِ رَكَعَاتٍ فَلَوْ كَانَتْ ذُنُوبُكَ مِثْلَ رَمْلِ عَالِجٍ لَغَفَرَهَا اللَّهُ لَكَ قَالَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ وَمَنْ يَسْتَطِيعُ أَنْ يَقُولَهَا فِي كُلِّ يَوْمٍ قَالَ فَإِنْ لَمْ تَسْتَطِعْ أَنْ تَقُولَهَا فِي كُلِّ يَوْمٍ فَقُلْهَا فِي جُمُعَةٍ فَإِنْ لَمْ تَسْتَطِعْ أَنْ تَقُولَهَا فِي جُمُعَةٍ فَقُلْهَا فِي شَهْرٍ فَلَمْ يَزَلْ يَقُولُ لَهُ حَتَّى قَالَ فَقُلْهَا فِي سَنَةٍ  

“The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said to ‘Abbas: ‘O uncle, shall I not give you a gift, shall I not benefit you, shall I not uphold my ties of kinship with you?’ He said: ‘Of course, O Messenger of Allah.’ He said: ‘Pray four Rak’ah, and recite in each Rak’ah the Opening of the Book (Al-Fatihah) and a Surah. When you have finished reciting, say: Subhan-Allah wal-hamdu Lillah wa la ilaha illallah wa Allahu Akbar (Glory is to Allah, praise is to Allah, none has the right to be worshipped but Allah and Allah is the Most Great) fifteen times before you bow in Ruku’. Then bow and say it ten times; then raise your head and say it ten times; then prostrate and say it ten times; then raise your head and say it ten times; then prostrate and say it ten times; then raise your head and say it ten times before you stand up. That wil be seventy-five times in each Rak’ah and three hundred times in the four Rak’ah, and even if your sins are like the grains of sand, Allah will forgive you for them.’ He said: ‘O Messenger of Allah, what if someone cannot say it in one day?’ He said: ‘Then say it once in a week; if you cannot, then say it once in a month’ until he said: ‘Once in a year.’”  

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ لِلْعَبَّاسِ يَا عَمِّ أَلاَ أَحْبُوكَ أَلاَ أَنْفَعُكَ أَلاَ أَصِلُكَ قَالَ بَلَى يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ قَالَ تُصَلِّي أَرْبَعَ رَكَعَاتٍ تَقْرَأُ فِي كُلِّ رَكْعَةٍ بِفَاتِحَةِ الْكِتَابِ وَسُورَةٍ فَإِذَا انْقَضَتِ الْقِرَاءَةُ فَقُلْ سُبْحَانَ اللَّهِ وَالْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ وَلاَ إِلَهَ إِلاَّ اللَّهُ وَاللَّهُ أَكْبَرُ خَمْسَ عَشْرَةَ مَرَّةً قَبْلَ أَنْ تَرْكَعَ ثُمَّ ارْكَعْ فَقُلْهَا عَشْرًا ثُمَّ ارْفَعْ رَأْسَكَ فَقُلْهَا عَشْرًا ثُمَّ اسْجُدْ فَقُلْهَا عَشْرًا ثُمَّ ارْفَعْ رَأْسَكَ فَقُلْهَا عَشْرًا ثُمَّ اسْجُدْ فَقُلْهَا عَشْرًا ثُمَّ ارْفَعْ رَأْسَكَ فَقُلْهَا عَشْرًا قَبْلَ أَنْ تَقُومَ فَتِلْكَ خَمْسٌ وَسَبْعُونَ فِي كُلِّ رَكْعَةٍ وَهِيَ ثَلاَثُمِائَةٍ فِي أَرْبَعِ رَكَعَاتٍ فَلَوْ كَانَتْ ذُنُوبُكَ مِثْلَ رَمْلِ عَالِجٍ غَفَرَهَا اللَّهُ لَكَ قَالَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ وَمَنْ لَمْ يَسْتَطِعْ يَقُولُهَا فِي يَوْمٍ قَالَ قُلْهَا فِي جُمُعَةٍ فَإِنْ لَمْ تَسْتَطِعْ فَقُلْهَا فِي شَهْرٍ حَتَّى قَالَ فَقُلْهَا فِي سَنَةٍ  

[Machine] When the day ends, stand and pray four units. Then mention the same four things. He said, "Then raise your head, meaning from the second prostration, and sit, and do not stand until you have made ten tasbih, ten tahmid, ten takbir, and ten tahleel." Then do that in the four units. He (the narrator) said, "If you were the greatest of the people of the earth in sins, they would be forgiven for you." I said, "But if I cannot pray that at that hour?" He said, "Pray it at night and during the day." Abu Dawud said: The narrator continued from Abu Jawnza'a from Abdullah bin Amr, who said: "The sheikh narrated it." Abu Janab also narrated it from Abu Jawnza'a from Abdullah bin Amr, who narrated it from the Prophet ﷺ elevated, except that he made tasbih fifty times before recitation, and he made what comes after the second prostration after the recitation. Abu Dawud said: Rawh bin al-Musayyib and Jafar bin Sulaiman narrated it from Amr bin Malik al-Nukri from Ibn Abbas, and he said: He also said in the hadith of Rawh: The Prophet ﷺ said 4920, and Abu Ali al-Rudhbary reported to us, and Abu Bakr reported to us, and Abu Dawud reported to us, and Abu Tawba al-Rabi bin Nafi reported to us, and Muhammad bin Mu'ajir reported to us from Urwah bin Ruwaym, he said: Al-Ansari told me that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said to Ja'far with this hadith, and he mentioned the same thing. Then he said: In the second prostration of the first unit, as in the hadith of Mahdy bin Maymun.  

إِذَا زَالَ النَّهَارُ فَقُمْ فَصَلِّ أَرْبَعَ رَكَعَاتٍ فَذَكَرَ نَحْوَهُ قَالَ ثُمَّ تَرْفَعُ رَأْسَكَ يَعْنِي مِنَ السَّجْدَةِ الثَّانِيَةِ فَاسْتَوِ جَالِسًا وَلَا تَقُمْ حَتَّى تُسَبِّحَ عَشْرًا وَتَحْمَدَ عَشْرًا وَتُكَبِّرَ عَشْرًا وَتُهَلِّلَ عَشْرًا ثُمَّ تَصْنَعُ ذَلِكَ فِي الْأَرْبَعِ رَكَعَاتٍ قَالَ فَإِنَّكَ لَوْ كُنْتَ أَعْظَمَ أَهْلِ الْأَرْضِ ذَنْبًا غُفِرَ لَكَ بِذَلِكَ قُلْتُ فَإِنْ لَمْ أَسْتَطِعْ أَنْ أُصَلِّيَهَا تِلْكَ السَّاعَةَ؟ قَالَ صَلِّهَا مِنَ اللَّيْلِ وَالنَّهَارِ قَالَ أَبُو دَاوُدَ وَرَوَاهُ الْمُسْتَمِرُّ بْنُ الرَّيَّانِ عَنْ أَبَى الْجَوْزَاءِ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ عَمْرٍو مَوْقُوفًا قَالَ الشَّيْخُ وَرَوَاهُ أَبُو جَنَابٍ عَنْ أَبَى الْجَوْزَاءِ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ عَمْرٍو عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ مَرْفُوعًا غَيْرَ أَنَّهُ جَعَلَ التَّسْبِيحَ خَمْسَ عَشْرَةَ مَرَّةً قَبْلَ الْقِرَاءَةِ وَجَعَلَ مَا بَعْدَ السَّجْدَةِ الثَّانِيَةِ بَعْدَ الْقِرَاءَةِ قَالَ أَبُو دَاوُدَ وَرَوَاهُ رَوْحُ بْنُ الْمُسَيَّبِ وَجَعْفَرُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ مَالِكٍ النُّكْرِيِّ عَنْ أَبَى الْجَوْزَاءِ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ قَوْلَهُ وَقَالَ فِي حَدِيثِ رَوْحٍ فَقَالَ حَدِيثَ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ

4920 وَأَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو عَلِيٍّ الرُّوذْبَارِيُّ أنبأ أَبُو بَكْرٍ ثنا أَبُو دَاوُدَ ثنا أَبُو تَوْبَةَ الرَّبِيعُ بْنُ نَافِعٍ ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ مُهَاجِرٍ عَنْ عُرْوَةَ بْنِ رُوَيْمٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي الْأَنْصَارِيُّ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ لِجَعْفَرٍ بِهَذَا الْحَدِيثِ فَذَكَرَ نَحْوَهُ ثُمَّ قَالَ فِي السَّجْدَةِ الثَّانِيَةِ مِنَ الرَّكْعَةِ الْأُولَى كَمَا فِي حَدِيثِ مَهْدِيِّ بْنِ مَيْمُونٍ  

"فِي رَجَبٍ لَيلَةٌ يُكْتَبُ لِلعَامَلِ فيهَا حَسَناتُ مِائَةِ سَنَةٍ، وَذَلِكَ لِثَلاثٍ بقينَ من رَجَب، فَمَنْ صَلَّى فيهَا اثْنَتَى عَشْرَةَ رَكَعَةً يقْرَأُ فِي كُلِّ رَكْعَة فَاتحَةَ الْكتَابِ، وَسُورَةً مِنَ القْرآنِ، يَتَشَهَّدُ فِي كُلِّ رَكْعَتَين, وَيُسَلِّمُ فِي آخِرِهِنَّ، ثُمَّ يَقُولُ سُبْحَانَ اللهِ وَالْحَمْدُ للهِ, وَلَا إلهَ إلا اللهُ، وَاللهُ أَكْبَرُ مائَةَ مَرَّة، وَلْيَسْتَغفِر اللهَ مِائَةَ مَرَّةٍ، وَيُصَلِّى عَلَى النَّبِيِّ ﷺ مائَةَ مَرَّةٍ، وَيَدْعُو لِنَفْسِهِ مَا شَاءَ مِن أمْرِ دُنيَاهُ وآخِرَتِهِ، وَيُصْبِحُ صَائمًا، فَإِنَّ اللهَ يَسْتَجِيبُ دُعَاءَهُ كُلَّهُ، إلا أن يَدْعُوَ فِي مَعْصِيَةٍ".
