tabarani:4159 – Muḥammad b. ʿAbdullāh al-Ḥaḍramī > Yaḥyá b. Ibrāhīm b. Muḥammad b. Abū ʿUbaydah b. Maʿn al-Masʿūdī from my father from his father from his grandfather > al-Aʿmash > Shimr b. ʿAṭiyyah > Khuraym b. Fātik

[Machine] He came to the Prophet ﷺ and said, "O Khuraym ibn Fatik, if it weren't for two qualities in you, you would be the best man." He asked, "What are those two qualities, O Messenger of Allah?" The Prophet ﷺ replied, "The keeping of your hair tidy and the shortening of your garment." Khuraym then left and cut his hair and shortened his garment.  

الطبراني:٤١٥٩ – حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ الْحَضْرَمِيُّ ثنا يَحْيَى بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ أَبِي عُبَيْدَةَ بْنِ مَعْنٍ الْمَسْعُودِيُّ ثنا أَبِي عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ جَدِّهِ عَنِ الْأَعْمَشِ عَنْ شِمْرِ بْنِ عَطِيَّةَ عَنْ خُرَيْمِ بْنِ فَاتِكٍ

أَنَّهُ أَتَى النَّبِيَّ ﷺ قَالَ «يَا خُرَيْمُ بْنُ فَاتِكٍ لَوْلَا خَصْلَتَانِ فِيكَ لَكُنْتَ أَنْتَ الرَّجُلَ» قَالَ مَا هُمَا بِأَبِي أَنْتَ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ حَسْبِي وَاحِدَةٌ؟ قَالَ «تَوْفِيرُ شَعْرِكَ وَتَسْبِيلُ إِزَارِكَ» فَانْطَلَقَ خُرَيْمٌ فَجَزَ شَعْرَهُ وَقَصَّرَ إِزَارَهُ
