[Machine] Sahla bint Suhail came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and said, "O Messenger of Allah, I see something concerning in the face of my father, Hudhaifah." The Prophet ﷺ said, "Breastfeed him." She replied, "But he is old." The Messenger of Allah ﷺ smiled and said, "Am I not aware that he is a man?" So she did as he instructed and came to him again, saying, "By the One who honored you with what He honored you with, I did not see anything concerning in the face of my father, Hudhaifah."  

الطبراني:٢١٢٠٦ – حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو يَزِيدَ يُوسُفُ بْنُ يَزِيدَ الْقَرَاطِيسِيُّ ثنا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْحَكَمِ ثنا سُفْيَانُ بْنُ عُيَيْنَةَ عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ الْقَاسِمِ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ عَائِشَةَ قَالَتْ

جَاءَتْ سَهْلَةُ بِنْتُ سُهَيْلٍ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ فَقَالَتْ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ إِنِّي لَأَرَى فِي وَجْهِ أَبِي حُذَيْفَةَ مِنْ أَمَرِ سَالِمٍ فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ «أَرْضِعِيهِ» فَقَالَتْ إِنَّهُ كَبِيرٌ فَتَبَسَّمَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ وَقَالَ «أَلَيْسَ أَعْلَمُ أَنَّهُ رَجُلٌ؟» قَالَتْ فَفَعَلَتْ فَأَتَتْهُ فَقَالَتْ وَالَّذِي أَكْرَمَكَ بِمَا أَكْرَمَكَ بِهِ مَا رَأَيْتُ فِي وَجْهِ أَبِي حُذَيْفَةَ شَيْئًا

The Messenger of Allah said: 'Breast-feed him.' She said: 'He has a beard.' He said: 'Breast-feed him, and that will take away (the displeasure) in the face of Abu Hudhaifah.' She said: 'By Allah, I never saw that on the face of Abu Hudhaifah after that.'"  

النسائي:٣٣١٩ – أَخْبَرَنَا يُونُسُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الأَعْلَى قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ وَهْبٍ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنِي مَخْرَمَةُ بْنُ بُكَيْرٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ حُمَيْدَ بْنَ نَافِعٍ يَقُولُ سَمِعْتُ زَيْنَبَ بِنْتَ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ تَقُولُ

سَمِعْتُ عَائِشَةَ زَوْجَ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ تَقُولُ جَاءَتْ سَهْلَةُ بِنْتُ سُهَيْلٍ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ فَقَالَتْ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ إِنِّي لأَرَى فِي وَجْهِ أَبِي حُذَيْفَةَ مِنْ دُخُولِ سَالِمٍ عَلَىَّ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ أَرْضِعِيهِ قُلْتُ إِنَّهُ لَذُو لِحْيَةٍ فَقَالَ أَرْضِعِيهِ يَذْهَبْ مَا فِي وَجْهِ أَبِي حُذَيْفَةَ قَالَتْ وَاللَّهِ مَا عَرَفْتُهُ فِي وَجْهِ أَبِي حُذَيْفَةَ بَعْدُ

Then she came after that and said: 'By the One Who sent you with the truth as a Prophet, I have never seen anything I dislike on the face of Abu Hudhaifah after that.'"

“Sahlah bint Suhail came to the Prophet and said: 'O Messenger of Allah, I see signs of displeasure on the face of Abu Hudhaifah when Salim enters upon me.” The Prophet said: “Breastfeed him.” She said: “How can I breastfeed him when he is a grown man? The Messenger of Allah smiled and said: “I know that he is a grown man.” So she did that, then she came to the Prophet and said: “I have never seen any signs of displeasure on the face of Abu Hudhayfah after that.” And he was present at (the battle of) Badr.  

ابن ماجة:١٩٤٣ – حَدَّثَنَا هِشَامُ بْنُ عَمَّارٍ حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ بْنُ عُيَيْنَةَ عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ الْقَاسِمِ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ عَائِشَةَ قَالَتْ

جَاءَتْ سَهْلَةُ بِنْتُ سُهَيْلٍ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ ﷺ فَقَالَتْ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ إِنِّي أَرَى فِي وَجْهِ أَبِي حُذَيْفَةَ الْكَرَاهِيَةَ مِنْ دُخُولِ سَالِمٍ عَلَىَّ فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ أَرْضِعِيهِ قَالَتْ كَيْفَ أُرْضِعُهُ وَهُوَ رَجُلٌ كَبِيرٌ فَتَبَسَّمَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ وَقَالَ قَدْ عَلِمْتُ أَنَّهُ رَجُلٌ كَبِيرٌ فَفَعَلَتْ فَأَتَتِ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ فَقَالَتْ مَا رَأَيْتُ فِي وَجْهِ أَبِي حُذَيْفَةَ شَيْئًا أَكْرَهُهُ بَعْدُ وَكَانَ شَهِدَ بَدْرًا

"Sahlah bint Suhail came to the Messenger of Allah and said: 'I see (displeasure) in the face of Abu Hudhaifah when Salim enters upon me.' The Messenger of Allah said: 'Breast-feed him.' She said: 'How can I breast-feed him when he is a grown man?' He said: 'Don't I know that he is a grown man?' أحمد:٢٤١٠٨ – حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانَ عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ الْقَاسِمِ عَنْ الْقَاسِمِ عَنْ عَائِشَةَ جَاءَتْ سَهْلَةُ بِنْتُ سُهَيْلٍ فَقَالَتْ

يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ إِنِّي أَرَى فِي وَجْهِ أَبِي حُذَيْفَةَ مِنْ دُخُولِ سَالِمٍ عَلَيَّ فَقَالَ أَرْضِعِيهِ فَقَالَتْ كَيْفَ أُرْضِعُهُ وَهُوَ رَجُلٌ كَبِيرٌ؟ فَضَحِكَ رَسُولُاللهِ ﷺ قَالَ أَلَسْتُ أَعْلَمُ أَنَّهُ رَجُلٌ كَبِيرٌ ثُمَّ جَاءَتْ فَقَالَتْ مَا رَأَيْتُ فِي وَجْهِ أَبِي حُذَيْفَةَ شَيْئًا أَكْرَهُهُ

[Machine] Sahla bint Suheil came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and said, "O Messenger of Allah, I see something troubling in the face of my father Hudhayfah." The Prophet ﷺ said, "Breastfeed him." She replied, "But he is old." The Messenger of Allah ﷺ smiled and said, "Don't I know that he is a man?" Then she came again and said, "By the One who has honored you with what He has honored you with, I have not noticed anything in the face of my father Hudhayfah after that."  

الطبراني:٦٣٧٦ – حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو يَزِيدَ الْقَرَاطِيسِيُّ ثنا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْحَكَمِ أنا سُفْيَانُ بْنُ عُيَيْنَةَ عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ الْقَاسِمِ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ عَائِشَةَ ؓ قَالَتْ

جَاءَتْ سَهْلَةُ بِنْتُ سُهَيْلٍ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ فَقَالَتْ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ إِنِّي لَأَرَى فِي وَجْهِ أَبِي حُذَيْفَةَ مِنْ أَمْرِ سَالِمٍ فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ «أَرْضِعِيهِ» فَقَالَتْ إِنَّهُ كَبِيرٌ فَتَبَسَّمَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ فَقَالَ «أَوَ لَيْسَ أَعْلَمُ أَنَّهُ رَجُلٌ» ؟ ثُمَّ جَاءَتْ فَقَالَتْ وَالَّذِي أَكْرَمَكَ بِمَا أَكْرَمَكَ بِهِ مَا رَأَيْتُ فِي وَجْهِ أَبِي حُذَيْفَةَ شَيْئًا بَعْدُ

[Machine] Sahlah, the daughter of Suhail bin Amr, came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and said, "I see from the face of my father Hudhaifah something that I dislike from Salim's entrance upon me." He ﷺ said, "Breastfeed him." She said, "Even though he is an old man?" He chuckled and said, "Don't you know that he is an old man?" She then came to him afterwards and said, "I have not seen anything that I dislike from Hudhaifah's face anymore."  

البيهقي:١٥٦٤٧ – حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مُحَمَّدٍ عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ يُوسُفَ الْأَصْبَهَانِيُّ أنا أَبُو سَعِيدٍ أَحْمَدُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ زِيَادٍ الْبَصْرِيُّ بِمَكَّةَ أنا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ الصَّبَّاحِ الزَّعْفَرَانِيُّ نا سُفْيَانُ بْنُ عُيَيْنَةَ عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ الْقَاسِمِ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ عَائِشَةَ ؓ قَالَتْ

جَاءَتْ سَهْلَةُ بِنْتُ سُهَيْلِ بْنِ عَمْرٍو إِلَى رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ فَقَالَتْ إِنِّي أَرَى فِي وَجْهِ أَبِي حُذَيْفَةَ مِنْ دُخُولِ سَالِمٍ عَلَيَّ قَالَ أَرْضِعِيهِ قَالَتْ وَهُوَ رَجُلٌ كَبِيرٌ؟ فَضَحِكَ وَقَالَ أَلَسْتُ أَعْلَمُ أَنَّهُ رَجُلٌ كَبِيرٌ؟ قَالَتْ فَأَتَتْهُ بَعْدُ وَقَالَتْ مَا رَأَيْتُ فِي وَجْهِ أَبِي حُذَيْفَةَ بَعْدُ شَيْئًا أَكْرَهُهُ
