[Machine] He informed him that while he was sitting with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ , a man from the Jews came to him and said, "O Muhammad, does this funeral speak?" So the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "Allah knows best." The Jew said, "I testify that it speaks." So the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "Do not believe the People of the Book, nor deny them, but say: We believe in Allah and His Books and His Messengers, if it is true, you do not deny them, and if it is false, you do not believe them."  

الطبراني:١٩١٧٣ – حَدَّثَنَا عَمْرُو بْنُ أَبِي الطَّاهِرِ بْنِ السَّرْحِ الْمِصْرِيُّ ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَزِيزٍ ثنا سَلَامَةُ بْنُ رَوْحٍ عَنْ عُقَيْلٍ عَنِ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ حَدَّثَنِي ابْنُ أَبِي نَمْلَةَ أَنَّ أَبَاهُ

أَخْبَرَهُ أَنَّهُ بَيْنَمَا هُوَ جَالِسٌ عِنْدَ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ إِذْ جَاءَهُ رَجُلٌ مِنَ الْيَهُودِ فَقَالَ يَا مُحَمَّدُ هَلْ تَتَكَلَّمُ هَذِهِ الْجَنَازَةُ؟ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «اللهُ أَعْلَمُ» فَقَالَ الْيَهُودِيُّ أَنَا أَشْهَدُ أَنَّهَا تَتَكَلَّمُ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «مَا حَدَّثَكُمْ أَهْلُ الْكِتَابِ فَلَا تُصَدِّقُوهُمْ وَلَا تُكَذِّبُوهُمْ وَقُولُوا آمَنَّا بِاللهِ وَكُتُبِهِ وَرُسُلِهِ فَإِنْ كَانَ حَقًّا لَمْ تُكَذِّبُوهُمْ وَإِنْ كَانَ بَاطِلًا لَمْ تُصَدِّقُوهُمْ»

When he was sitting with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and a Jew was also with him, a funeral passed by him. He (the Jew) asked (Him): Muhammad, does this funeral speak? The Prophet ﷺ said: Allah has more knowledge. The Jew said: It speaks. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: Whatever the people of the Book tell you, do not verify them, nor falsify them, but say: We believe in Allah and His Apostle. If it is false, do not confirm it, and if it is right, do not falsify it.  

أبو داود:٣٦٤٤ – حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ ثَابِتٍ الْمَرْوَزِيُّ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ أَخْبَرَنَا مَعْمَرٌ عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ أَخْبَرَنِي ابْنُ أَبِي نَمْلَةَ الأَنْصَارِيُّ عَنْ أَبِيهِ

[Machine] "We were with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ when a funeral procession passed by. A Jewish man said, 'O Muhammad, this funeral speaks.' The Messenger of Allah ﷺ remained silent. The Jew said, 'I bear witness that it speaks.' The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, 'When the people of the Book inform you of something, say, "We believe in Allah and His angels and His books and His messengers".'"  

الحاكم:٥٥٣٨ – أَخْبَرْنَاهُ أَبُو الْفَضْلِ الْفَقِيهُ ثَنَا عُثْمَانُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ الدَّارِمِيُّ أَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْجَبَّارِ بِحِمْصَ ثَنَا الْحَارِثُ بْنُ عُبَيْدَةَ ثَنَا الزُّهْرِيُّ عَنْ سَالِمٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ عَامِرِ بْنِ رَبِيعَةَ قَالَ

كُنَّا مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ فَمَرَّ بِجِنَازَةٍ فَقَالَ رَجُلٌ مِنَ الْيَهُودِ يَا مُحَمَّدُ تَكَلَّمُ هَذِهِ الْجَنَازَةُ فَسَكَتَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ فَقَالَ الْيَهُودِيُّ أَنَا أَشْهَدُ أَنَّهَا تَكَلَّمُ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ إِذَا حَدَّثَكُمْ أَهْلُ الْكِتَابِ حَدِيثًا فَقُولُوا آمَنَّا بِاللَّهِ وَمَلَائِكَتِهِ وَكُتُبِهِ وَرُسُلِهِ  

«هَذَا حَدِيثٌ يُعْرَفُ بِالْحَارِثِ بْنِ عُبَيْدَةَ الرَّهَاوِيِّ عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ وَقَدْ كَتَبْنَاهُ فِي آخِرِ نُسْخَةٍ لِيُونُسَ عَنْ يَزِيدَ عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ»
