أَبُو عَبْدِ اللهِ مُحَمَّدٌ الْأَسَدِيُّ، عَنْ وَابِصَةَ

[Machine] He heard Wabisa bin Ma'bad, a companion of the Prophet ﷺ, saying, "I asked the Messenger of Allah ﷺ about righteousness and sin, and he said, 'O Wabisa, have you come to ask me about righteousness and sin?' So I said, 'Yes, by the One who has sent you with the truth, I have come to ask you about it.' He said, 'Righteousness is what brings expansion to your chest, and sin is what causes restlessness in your heart, even if people give you a fatwa [ruling] regarding it.'"  

الطبراني:١٨٦٩٦حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو يَزِيدَ الْقَرَاطِيسِيُّ ثنا أَسَدُ بْنُ مُوسَى ح وَحَدَّثَنَا بَكْرُ بْنُ سَهْلٍ ثنا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ صَالِحٍ قَالَا ثنا مُعَاوِيَةُ بْنُ صَالِحٍ حَدَّثَنِي أَبُو عَبْدِ اللهِ مُحَمَّدٌ الْأَسَدِيُّ

أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ وَابِصَةَ بْنَ مَعْبَدٍ صَاحِبَ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ يَقُولُ سَأَلْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ عَنِ الْبِرِّ وَالْإِثْمِ فَقَالَ «يَا وَابِصَةُ جِئْتَ تَسْأَلُنِي عَنِ الْبِرِّ وَالْإِثْمِ» فَقُلْتُ إِي وَالَّذِي بَعَثَكَ بِالْحَقِّ إِنَّهُ لِلَّذِي جِئْتُ أَسْأَلُكَ عَنْهُ قَالَ «فَالْبِرُّ مَا انْشَرَحَ لَهُ صَدْرُكَ وَالْإِثْمُ مَا حَاكَ فِي صَدْرِكَ وَإِنْ أَفْتَاكَ عَنْهُ النَّاسُ»

[Machine] I heard Wabisah ibn Ma'bad, a companion of the Prophet ﷺ , saying: "I went to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and asked him about righteousness and sin.
