[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ sent me to Najran, and they said to me, "What do you say about the verse you recite, 'O sister of Aaron?'" Between Moses and Jesus, what do you know?" So I went to the Prophet ﷺ and told him, and he said, "Did you not inform them that they were called by their own names and by the names of the righteous before them?"  

الطبراني:١٨١٨٤ – حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ حَنْبَلٍ حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي ح وَحَدَّثَنَا عُبَيْدُ بْنُ غَنَّامٍ ثنا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ ح وَحَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ ثنا ابْنُ الْأَصْبَهَانِيِّ ح وَحَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى الْقَزَّازُ الْبَصْرِيُّ ثنا عِمْرَانُ بْنُ مَيْسَرَةَ الْأَوْدِيُّ ح وَحَدَّثَنَا أَبُو حُصَيْنٍ الْقَاضِي ثنا يَحْيَى الْحِمَّانِيُّ قَالُوا ثنا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ إِدْرِيسَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ سِمَاكِ بْنِ حَرْبٍ عَنْ عَلْقَمَةَ بْنِ وَائِلٍ عَنِ الْمُغِيرَةِ بْنِ شُعْبَةَ قَالَ

بَعَثَنِي رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ إِلَى نَجْرَانَ فَقَالُوا لِي فِيمَا قَالُوا كَانَتْ فِيمَا تَقْرَؤُونَ {يَا أُخْتَ هَارُونَ} قَدْ كَانَ بَيْنَ مُوسَى وَبَيْنَ عِيسَى مَا قَدْ عَلِمْتُمْ؟ قَالَ فَأَتَيْتُ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ فَأَخْبَرْتُهُ فَقَالَ «أَفَلَا أَخْبَرْتَهُمْ أَنَّهُمْ كَانُوا يُسَمَّوْنَ بِأَسْمَائِهِمْ وبَالصَّالِحِينَ الَّذِينَ كَانُوا قَبْلَهُمْ»

"The Messenger of Allah ﷺ sent me to Najran. They said to me: 'Do you people not recite: O sister of Harun (19:28) - while between Musa and 'Eisa there is such (gap) as there is?' I did not know how to respond to them. So when I returned to the Prophet ﷺ, I told him about that, and he said: 'Why didn't you tell them that they were named after their Prophets and righteous people before them.'"  

الترمذي:٣١٥٥ – حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو سَعِيدٍ الأَشَجُّ وَأَبُو مُوسَى مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْمُثَنَّى قَالاَ حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ إِدْرِيسَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ سِمَاكِ بْنِ حَرْبٍ عَنْ عَلْقَمَةَ بْنِ وَائِلٍ عَنِ الْمُغِيرَةِ بْنِ شُعْبَةَ قَالَ

بَعَثَنِي رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ إِلَى نَجْرَانَ فَقَالُوا لِي أَلَسْتُمْ تَقْرَءُونَ ( يَا أُخْتَ هَارُونَ ) وَقَدْ كَانَ بَيْنَ عِيسَى وَمُوسَى مَا كَانَ فَلَمْ أَدْرِ مَا أُجِيبُهُمْ فَرَجَعْتُ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ فَأَخْبَرْتُهُ فَقَالَ أَلاَّ أَخْبَرْتَهُمْ أَنَّهُمْ كَانُوا يُسَمُّونَ بِأَنْبِيَائِهِمْ وَالصَّالِحِينَ قَبْلَهُمْ  

قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى هَذَا حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ صَحِيحٌ غَرِيبٌ لاَ نَعْرِفُهُ إِلاَّ مِنْ حَدِيثِ ابْنِ إِدْرِيسَ

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ sent me to Najran. They said, "Do you not read what you read, O sister of Harun and Musa, before Eisa, in this way and that way?" So I returned and mentioned that to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, and he said, "Did you not inform them that they were referred to as the prophets and the righteous before them?"  

أحمد:١٨٢٠١ – حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ إِدْرِيسَ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ أَبِي يَذْكُرُهُ عَنْ سِمَاكٍ عَنْ عَلْقَمَةَ بْنِ وَائِلٍ عَنِ الْمُغِيرَةِ بْنِ شُعْبَةَ قَالَ

بَعَثَنِي رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ إِلَى نَجْرَانَ قَالَ فَقَالُوا أَرَأَيْتَ مَا تَقْرَءُونَ يَا أُخْتَ هَارُونَ وَمُوسَى قَبْلَ عِيسَى بِكَذَا وَكَذَا؟ قَالَ فَرَجَعْتُ فَذَكَرْتُ ذَلِكَ لِرَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ فَقَالَ أَلَا أَخْبَرْتَهُمْ أَنَّهُمْ كَانُوا يُسَمَّوْنَ بِالْأَنْبِيَاءِ وَالصَّالِحِينَ قَبْلَهُمْ

[Machine] "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ sent me to Najran and said to me, 'O people of Najran, do you not recite this verse: "O sister of Harun, your father was not a man of evil, nor was your mother unchaste" and you are already aware of what happened between Musa and Isa?' So, I did not know how to respond to them until I arrived in Madinah to meet the Messenger of Allah ﷺ . I mentioned it to him, and he said to me, 'Why did you not inform them that they were called by the names of prophets and righteous people before them?'"  

ابن حبّان:٦٢٥٠ – أَخْبَرَنَا الْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ الْقَطَّانُ أَخْبَرَنَا نُوحُ بْنُ حَبِيبٍ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ إِدْرِيسَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ سِمَاكِ بْنِ حَرْبٍ عَنْ عَلْقَمَةَ بْنِ وَائِلٍ عَنِ الْمُغِيرَةِ بْنِ شُعْبَةَ قَالَ

بَعَثَنِي رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ إِلَى نَجْرَانَ فَقَالَ لِي أَهْلُ نَجْرَانَ أَلَسْتُمْ تَقْرَءُونَ هَذِهِ الْآيَةَ {يَا أُخْتَ هَارُونَ مَا كَانَ أَبُوكِ امْرَأَ سُوءٍ وَمَا كَانَتْ أُمُّكِ بَغِيَّا} وَقَدْ عَرَفْتُمْ مَا بَيْنَ مُوسَى وَعِيسَى؟ فَلَمْ أَدْرِ مَا أَرُدُّ عَلَيْهِمْ حَتَّى قَدِمْتُ الْمَدِينَةَ عَلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ فَذَكَرْتُ ذَلِكَ لَهُ فَقَالَ لِي «أَفَلَا أَخْبَرْتَهُمْ أَنَّهُمْ كَانُوا يُسَمُّونَ بِالْأَنْبِيَاءِ وَالصَّالِحِينَ قَبْلَهُمْ؟ »
