“Among those in charge of you, after I am gone, will be men who extinguish the Sunnah and follow innovation. They will delay the prayer from its proper time.” I said: “O Messenger of Allah, if I live to see them, what should I do?” He said: “You ask me, O Ibn ‘Abd, what you should do? There is no obedience to one who disobeys Allah.”  

أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ قَالَ سَيَلِي أُمُورَكُمْ بَعْدِي رِجَالٌ يُطْفِئُونَ السُّنَّةَ وَيَعْمَلُونَ بِالْبِدْعَةِ وَيُؤَخِّرُونَ الصَّلاَةَ عَنْ مَوَاقِيتِهَا فَقُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ إِنْ أَدْرَكْتُهُمْ كَيْفَ أَفْعَلُ قَالَ تَسْأَلُنِي يَا ابْنَ أُمِّ عَبْدٍ كَيْفَ تَفْعَلُ لاَ طَاعَةَ لِمَنْ عَصَى اللَّهَ  

[Machine] That the Prophet ﷺ said, "There will be rulers after me who delay the prayer beyond its prescribed time and innovate in religious matters." Ibn Mas'ud asked, "What should I do if I encounter them?" The Prophet responded, "Ask me, Ibn Umm Abd, what should you do? There is no obedience to someone who disobeys Allah." Following this, Ismail bin Zakariyya reported from Ibn Khuthaym that they would also neglect the Sunnah.  

أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ قَالَ سَتَكُونُ بَعْدِي أُمَرَاءُ يُؤَخِّرُونَ الصَّلَاةَ عَنْ مَوَاقِيتِهَا وَيُحْدِثُونَ الْبِدْعَةَ فَقَالَ ابْنُ مَسْعُودٍ وَكَيْفَ أَصْنَعُ إِنْ أَدْرَكْتُهُمْ؟ قَالَ تَسْأَلُنِي ابْنَ أُمِّ عَبْدٍ كَيْفَ تَصْنَعُ؟ لَا طَاعَةَ لِمَنْ عَصَى اللهَ تَابَعَهُ إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ زَكَرِيَّا عَنِ ابْنِ خُثَيْمٍ وَزَادَ فِيهِ وَيُطْفِئُونَ السُّنَّةَ  

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "Indeed, there will come a time when a group of people will extinguish the Sunnah and introduce innovation, and they will postpone the prayers from their proper times." Ibn Mas'ud asked, "O Messenger of Allah, what should I do if I live to see them?" The Prophet replied, "O son of Umm Abd, there is no obedience to one who disobeys Allah." He repeated this statement three times.  

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ إِنَّهُ سَيَلِي أَمْرَكُمْ قَوْمٌ يُطْفِئُونَ السُّنَّةَ وَيُحْدِثُونَ بِدْعَةً وَيُؤَخِّرُونَ الصَّلَاةَ عَنْ مَوَاقِيتِهَا قَالَ ابْنُ مَسْعُودٍ فَكَيْفَ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ إِنْ أَدْرَكْتُهُمْ؟ قَالَ يَا ابْنَ أُمِّ عَبْدٍ لَا طَاعَةَ لِمَنْ عَصَى اللهَ قَالَهَا ثَلَاثًا  

"سيكُونُ علَيْكمْ أُمراءُ يُؤَخِّرُونَ الصَّلَاةَ عن مواقِيتِها، ويُحْدِثُونَ الْبِدع - قَال ابْنُ مسْعُود: فَكَيْفَ أَصْنَعُ إِنْ أَدْركْتُهُمْ؟ قَال: - تَسْأَلُنِى يا ابْنَ أُمِّ عبْد كَيْفَ تَصْنَعُ؟ لاَ طَاعةَ لِمنْ عصى الله".  

"كَيفَ بِكَ يَا عَبْدَ الرحمنِ إِذَا كَان عَلَيكمْ أمَراءُ يُطفِئُون السُّنَّةَ

وَيُؤَخِّرُونَ الصَّلاةَ عَنْ مِيقَاتِهَا؟ قَال: فَكَيفَ تَأمُرُنِى يَا رَسُولَ الله؟ قَال يسْألُني ابْن أُمِّ عبْد كَيفَ يَفْعَلُ؟ لا طَاعَةَ لمَخْلُوق في مَعْصِيَةِ الله".
