[Machine] We captured sheep in the Day of Khaybar, so we took them hastily. Then the Messenger of Allah ﷺ came and their pots were boiling. They said, "Indeed, this is a spoil (Nahba)." He said, "Suffice the pots because indeed, spoils are not permissible."  

أَصَبْنَا يَوْمَ خَيْبَرَ غَنَمًا فَانْتَهَبْنَاهَا فَجَاءَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ وَقُدُورُهُمْ تَغْلِي فَقَالُوا إِنَّهَا نُهْبَةٌ فَقَالَ «أَكْفِئُوا الْقُدُورَ فَإِنَّهُ لَا تَحِلُّ النُّهْبَةُ»  

[Machine] "The companions of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ impressed me while I was a young man. I heard him ﷺ forbidding plundering and commanding the use of pots, so we cooked meat from domestic camels."  

«أَسَرَنِي أَصْحَابُ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ وَأَنَا يَوْمَئِذٍ شَابٌّ فَسَمِعْتُهُ ﷺ يَنْهَى عَنِ النُّهْبَةِ وَأَمَرَ بِالْقُدُورِ فَأُكْفِئَتْ مِنْ لَحْمِ الْحُمُرِ الْأَهْلِيَّةِ»  

[Machine] I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ saying, "Indeed, we do not eat from spoils, as it is not lawful." I asked Simak, "What is this spoils that the Prophet ﷺ prohibited?" He said, "It is the sheep that they plundered on the day of Khaybar before it was distributed, so the Prophet ﷺ said, 'Take the pots.'"  

سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ «إِنَّا لَا نَأْكُلُ النُّهْبَةَ فَإِنَّهَا لَا تَحِلُّ» قُلْتُ لِسِمَاكٍ مَا هَذِهِ النُّهْبَةُ الَّتِي نَهَى عَنْهَا النَّبِيُّ ﷺ؟ قَالَ قَالَ ثَعْلَبَةُ هِي غَنَمٌ انْتَهَبُوها يَوْمَ خَيْبَرَ قَبْلَ أَنْ يُقْسَمَ فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ «أَكْفِئُوا الْقُدُورَ»  

[Machine] I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ saying, "Indeed, looting is not permissible." So a group seized sheep, and they informed him [the Prophet]. So the Prophet ﷺ said, "Gather the pots and what is in them."  

سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ «إِنَّ النُّهْبَةَ لَا تَحِلُّ» فَانْتَهَبَ قَوْمٌ غَنَمًا فَأَخْبَرُوهُ فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ «أَكْفِئُوا الْقُدُورَ وَمَا فِيهَا»  

“We came across some of the enemy’s sheep and plundered them, and set up our cooking pots. The Prophet ﷺ passed by the pots and ordered that they be overturned, then he said: ‘Plunder is not permissible.’” (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 3938)  

أَصَبْنَا غَنَمًا لِلْعَدُوِّ فَانْتَهَبْنَاهَا فَنَصَبْنَا قُدُورَنَا فَمَرَّ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ بِالْقُدُورِ فَأَمَرَ بِهَا فَأُكْفِئَتْ ثُمَّ قَالَ «إِنَّ النُّهْبَةَ لَا تَحِلُّ»  

[Machine] The Companions of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ sent me, and I heard him prohibiting looting and commanding the use of pots, so they were filled.  

أَرْسَلَنِي أَصْحَابُ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ فَسَمِعْتُهُ «يَنْهَى عَنِ النُّهْبَةِ وَأَمَرَ بِالْقُدُورِ فَأُكْفِئَتْ»  

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "Allah says to the scholars on the Day of Judgment, when He sits on His Throne to judge His servants: 'Verily, I have not placed My knowledge and judgement in you except that I intend to forgive you for what was in you, and I do not care'."  

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ اللهُ ﷻ لِلْعُلَمَاءِ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ إِذَا قَعَدَ عَلَى كُرْسِيِّهِ لِقَضَاءِ عِبَادِهِ إِنِّي لَمْ أَجْعَلْ عِلْمِي وحُكْمِي فِيكُمْ إِلَّا وَأَنَا أُرِيدُ أَنْ أَغْفِرَ لَكُمْ عَلَى مَا كَانَ فِيكُمْ وَلَا أُبَالِي
