[Machine] I was with Al-Hasan when a man passed by and spoke to him. Al-Hasan said, "The one with two hands said, 'O people of Ansar, did not the Messenger of Allah ﷺ command you to be patient until you meet him?'"

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "This matter was with the Himyar tribe, but Allah removed it from them and transferred it to the Quraysh tribe."

tabarani:4228Aḥmad b. Dāwud al-Makkī > Qays b. Ḥafṣ al-Dārimī > Maslamah b. ʿAlqamah al-Māzinī > Dāwud b. Abū Hind > al-ʿAbbās b. ʿAbd al-Raḥman a freed slave of Banī Hāshim > Dhū Makhmar from my cousin al-Najāshī

[Machine] I was with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ during a military expedition. They marched surreptitiously at night, then camped. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ approached me and said, "O the one who wears a garment!" I replied, "Here I am, Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless you." He held the reins of my camel and said, "Sit here, and do not move tonight." I took hold of the reins of the camel, but my eyes became heavy and I fell asleep. The camel slipped away and left. I did not wake up except at dawn. The Prophet ﷺ came to me and said, "O the one who wears a garment!" I replied, "Here I am, Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless you." He said, "By Allah, you were indeed taken by sleep last night, as you said." We moved away from that place and the Messenger of Allah ﷺ led us in prayer. After he finished the prayer, he ordered the return of the camel, and it was brought by the sound of its bell being guided by the wind. When it was morning, while the dawn was breaking, he commanded Bilal to give the call to prayer, then he ordered him to stand in prayer, and he led us in prayer. When he finished the prayer, he said, "This is our prayer of yesterday." Then he started to perform the prayer of that day.

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Make a safe and secure peace treaty with the Romans until you invade them and they become your enemy, then you will be victorious and descend upon a land that is full of hills."

I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say: you will make a secure peace with the Byzantines, then you and they will fight an enemy behind you, and you will be victorious, take booty, and be safe. You will then return and alight in a meadow with mounds and one of the Christians will raise the cross and say: The cross has conquered. One of the Muslims will become angry and smash it, and the Byzantines will act treacherously and prepare for the battle. (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 4292)

tabarani:4231Aḥmad b. ʿAbd al-Wahhāb b. Najdah from my father > Ismāʿīl b. ʿAyyāsh > Yaḥyá b. Abū ʿAmr al-Saybānī > Dhī Makhbar from my cousin al-Najāshī

[Machine] He heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ saying, "Make a peace treaty with the Romans for ten years, a secure and trustworthy treaty. They will fulfill it for two years and break it in the third, or fulfill it for four years and break it in the fifth. Then a force from among you will descend upon their city, and you will fight them as an enemy from behind and they will fight you as an enemy from in front. You will defeat that enemy, and Allah will grant you victory, and you will gain the rewards and spoils. Then you will descend to a flat land with mountains made of wool. A person from among your ranks will say, 'Allah has defeated them,' and another person will say, 'The cross has defeated them.' Then they will engage in a fight and the Muslims will become angry, while their cross is not far from them. At that time, a Muslim will turn to their cross and strike it, and they will retaliate by killing him. This will incite a group of Muslims to rush to their weapons, and the Romans will rush to their weapons. They will kill that group of Muslims and they will be martyred. They will go to their leader and say, 'We have fulfilled our duty towards you and fought the Arabs with our full strength. What are we waiting for?' He will gather for you a group of women to bear children for you, then they will come to you beneath eighty banners. Under each banner there will be twelve thousand (soldiers).
