When it was the day of the battle of Al-Ahzab (i.e. the clans), Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "O Allah! Fill their (i.e. the infidels') houses and graves with fire as they busied us so much that we did not perform the prayer (i.e. ʿAsr) till the sun set."

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ مَلأَ اللَّهُ بُيُوتَهُمْ وَقُبُورَهُمْ نَارًا شَغَلُونَا عَنِ الصَّلاَةِ الْوُسْطَى حِينَ غَابَتِ الشَّمْسُ

On the day of Al-Khandaq (i.e. Trench), the Prophet ﷺ said '(Let) Allah fill their (i.e. the infidels') houses and graves with fire just as they have prevented us from offering the Middle Prayer (i.e. ʿAsr prayer) till the sun had set."

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ أَنَّهُ قَالَ يَوْمَ الْخَنْدَقِ مَلأَ اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِمْ بُيُوتَهُمْ وَقُبُورَهُمْ نَارًا كَمَا شَغَلُونَا عَنْ صَلاَةِ الْوُسْطَى حَتَّى غَابَتِ الشَّمْسُ

We were in the company of the Prophet ﷺ on the day (of the battle) of Al-Khandaq (the Trench). The Prophet said, "May Allah fill their (the infidels') graves and houses with fire, as they have kept us so busy that we could not offer the middle prayer till the sun had set; and that prayer was the ʿAsr prayer."

كُنَّا مَعَ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ يَوْمَ الْخَنْدَقِ فَقَالَ مَلأَ اللَّهُ قُبُورَهُمْ وَبُيُوتَهُمْ نَارًا كَمَا شَغَلُونَا عَنْ صَلاَةِ الْوُسْطَى حَتَّى غَابَتِ الشَّمْسُ وَهْىَ صَلاَةُ الْعَصْرِ

When it was the day (of the Battle) of Ahzab, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: May Allah fill their graves and houses with fire, as they detained us and diverted us from the middle prayer, till the sun set.

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ مَلأَ اللَّهُ قُبُورَهُمْ وَبُيُوتَهُمْ نَارًا كَمَا حَبَسُونَا وَشَغَلُونَا عَنِ الصَّلاَةِ الْوُسْطَى حَتَّى غَابَتِ الشَّمْسُ

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said on the day (of the Battle) of Ahzab: They diverted us from saying the middle prayer, i. e. the 'Asr prayer. May Allah fill their houses and graves with fire; he then observed this prayer between the evening prayer and the night prayer.

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ يَوْمَ الأَحْزَابِ شَغَلُونَا عَنِ الصَّلاَةِ الْوُسْطَى صَلاَةِ الْعَصْرِ مَلأَ اللَّهُ بُيُوتَهُمْ وَقُبُورَهُمْ نَارًا ثُمَّ صَلاَّهَا بَيْنَ الْعِشَاءَيْنِ بَيْنَ الْمَغْرِبِ وَالْعِشَاءِ

'Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) reported the Messenger of Allah ﷺ as saying on the day of Battle of Khandaq (Trench). They (the unbelievers) prevented us from offering the middle prayer i.e. 'Asr prayer. May Allah fill their houses and their graves with Hell-fire.

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ قَالَ يَوْمَ الْخَنْدَقِ حَبَسُونَا عَنْ صَلاَةِ الْوُسْطَى صَلاَةِ الْعَصْرِ مَلأَ اللَّهُ بُيُوتَهُمْ وَقُبُورَهُمْ نَارًا

On the Day of Khandaq, the Messenger of Allah said: "May Allah fill their houses and graves with fire, just as they distracted us from the middle prayer."

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ قَالَ يَوْمَ الْخَنْدَقِ مَلأَ اللَّهُ بُيُوتَهُمْ وَقُبُورَهُمْ نَارًا كَمَا شَغَلُونَا عَنِ الصَّلاَةِ الْوُسْطَى

"The idolaters kept the Prophet from the 'Asr prayer until the sun had set. He said: 'They kept us from performing the middle prayer; may Allah fill their graves and their houses with fire.'"

حَبَسَ الْمُشْرِكُونَ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ عَنْ صَلاَةِ الْعَصْرِ حَتَّى غَابَتِ الشَّمْسُ فَقَالَ حَبَسُونَا عَنْ صَلاَةِ الْوُسْطَى مَلأَ اللَّهُ قُبُورَهُمْ وَبُيُوتَهُمْ نَارًا

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said on the day of al-Khandaq: ʿWhat is wrong with them? May Allah fill their houses and graves with fire as they distracted us from the middle prayer until the sun set.” (Using translation from Aḥmad 1221)

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ يَوْمَ الْخَنْدَقِ «مَلَأَ اللَّهُ قُبُورَهُمْ وَبُيُوتَهُمْ نَارًا كَمَا حَبَسُونَا عَنْ صَلَاةِ الْوُسْطَى حَتَّى غَابَتِ الشَّمْسُ»

It was narrated from ‘Ali ؓ that The Prophet ﷺ said on the day of al-Ahzab. ʿMay Allah fill their houses and graves with fire, they distracted us from prayer until the sunset.ʿ

أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ قَالَ يَوْمَ الْأَحْزَابِ مَلَأَ اللهُ بُيُوتَهُمْ وَقُبُورَهُمْ نَارًا كَمَا شَغَلُونَا عَنِ الصَّلاةِ الْوُسْطَى حَتَّى آبَتِ الشَّمْسُ

It was narrated that ‘Ali ؓ said. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said on the day of al-Ahzab. ʿThey distracted us from the middle prayer, ‘Asr prayer. May Allah fill their graves and houses with fire.ʿ Then he offered it between the two evening prayers, Maghrib and ‘Isha’.

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ يَوْمَ الْأَحْزَابِ شَغَلُونَا عَنْ صَلَاةِ الْوُسْطَى صَلَاةِ الْعَصْرِ مَلَأَ اللهُ قُبُورَهُمْ وَبُيُوتَهُمْ نَارًا ثُمَّ صَلَّاهَا بَيْنَ الْعِشَاءَيْنِ بَيْنِ الْمَغْرِبِ وَالْعِشَاءِ

They distracted us on the day of al-Ahzab from ʿAsr prayer, until I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say: ʿThey distracted us from the middle prayer, ‘Asr prayer. May Allah fill their graves and houses or stomachs with fire.”

سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ شَغَلُونَا عَنْ صَلاةِ الْوُسْطَى صَلاةِ الْعَصْرِ مَلَأَ اللهُ قُبُورَهُمْ وَبُيُوتَهُمْ وَأَجْوَافَهُمْ نَارًا

I heard ʿAli ؓ say: On the day of al-Ahzab, we prayed ‘Asr between Maghrib and ʿIshaʿ. The Prophet ﷺ said: ʿThey distracted us from the middle prayer, ‘Asr, prayer, may Allah fill their graves and stomachs with fire.ʿ

سَمِعْتُ عَلِيًّا يَقُولُ لَمَّا كَانَ يَوْمُ الْأَحْزَابِ صَلَّيْنَا الْعَصْرَ بَيْنَ الْمَغْرِبِ وَالْعِشَاءِ فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ شَغَلُونَا عَنِ الصَّلاةِ الْوُسْطَى صَلاةِ الْعَصْرِ مَلَأَ اللهُ قُبُورَهُمْ وَأَجْوَافَهُمْ نَارًا

“They distracted us from the middle prayer until the sunset. May Allah fill their graves, houses and stomachs with fire.”

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ أَنَّهُ قَالَ يَوْمَ أُحُدٍ شَغَلُونَا عَنْ صَلاةِ الْوُسْطَى حَتَّى آبَتِ الشَّمْسُ مَلَأَ اللهُ قُبُورَهُمْ وَبُيُوتَهُمْ وَبُطُونَهُمْ نَارًا

[AI] The Prophet ﷺ fought against an enemy but did not finish with them until after the time for the middle prayer had passed. When he saw that, he said, "O Allah, whoever prevents us from offering the middle prayer, fill their houses with fire and fill their graves with fire, or something similar."

قَاتَلَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ عَدُوًّا فَلَمْ يَفْرُغْ مِنْهُمْ حَتَّى أَخَّرَ الْعَصْرَ عَنْ وَقْتِهَا فَلَمَّا رَأَى ذَلِكَ قَالَ اللهُمَّ مَنْ حَبَسَنَا عَنِ الصَّلاةِ الْوُسْطَى فَامْلَأْ بُيُوتَهُمْ نَارًا وَامْلَأْ قُبُورَهُمْ نَارًا أَوْ نَحْوَ ذَلِكَ

[AI] The pagans held the Messenger of Allah ﷺ captive from performing the Asr prayer until the sun turned yellow or red. Then they said: "They have occupied us from our midday prayer." May Allah fill their graves and hearts with fire.

حَبَسَ الْمُشْرِكُونَ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ عَنْ صَلَاةِ الْعَصْرِ حَتَّى اصْفَرَّتْ أَوِ احْمَرَّتِ الشَّمْسُ فَقَالَ شَغَلُونَا عَنْ صَلَاةِ الْوُسْطَى مَلَأَ اللهُ أَجْوَافَهُمْ أَوْ حَشَا اللهُ أَجْوَافَهُمْ وَقُبُورَهُمْ نَارًا

[AI] The Prophet ﷺ said on the Day of the Trench, "Occupying us from the middle prayer (Asr) has filled Allah's houses and their stomachs with fire."

أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ قَالَ يَوْمَ الْخَنْدَقِ «شَغَلُونَا عَنْ صَلَاةِ الْوُسْطَى مَلَأَ اللَّهُ بُيُوتَهُمْ وَبُطُونَهُمْ نَارًا» وَهِيَ الْعَصْرُ

They distracted us on the day of al-Ahzab from ʿAsr prayer, until I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say: ʿThey distracted us from the middle prayer, ‘Asr prayer. May Allah fill their graves and houses or stomachs with fire.” (Using translation from Aḥmad 1036)

سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ يَوْمَ الْخَنْدَقِ «شَغَلُونَا عَنِ صَلَاةِ الْعَصْرِ مَلَأَ اللَّهُ قُبُورَهُمْ وَبُيُوتَهُمْ نَارًا» قَالَ وَلَمْ يُصَلِّهَا يَوْمَئِذٍ حَتَّى غَابَتِ الشَّمْسُ

أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ قَالَ يَوْمَ الْأَحْزَابِ شَغَلُونَا عَنِ الصَّلَاةِ الْوسْطَى حَتَّى غَرَبَتِ الشَّمْسُ مَلَأَ اللَّهُ قُبُورَهُمْ وَبُيُوتَهُمْ نَارًا

[AI] The Prophet ﷺ was occupied until sunset, missing the Asr prayer. He said, "Those who neglect the middle prayer, may Allah fill their graves and homes with fire."

شُغِلَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ عَنْ صَلَاةِ الْعَصْرِ حَتَّى غَرَبَتْ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «شَغَلُونَا عَنِ الصَّلَاةِ الْوُسْطَى مَلَأَ اللهُ قُبُورَهُمْ وَبُيُوتَهُمْ نَارًا»

[AI] "That the Prophet ﷺ said on the day of the Battle of the Trench, 'They have occupied us from performing the middle prayer, and may Allah fill their graves and stomachs with fire.'"

أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ قَالَ يَوْمَ الْخَنْدَقِ «شَغَلُونَا عَنِ الصَّلَاةِ الْوُسْطَى مَلَأَ اللهُ قُبُورَهُمْ وَأَجْوَافَهُمْ نَارًا»

[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "They distract us from performing the middle prayer, the Asr prayer. May Allah fill their bellies and graves with fire."

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «شَغَلُونَا عَنْ صَلَاةِ الْوُسْطَى صَلَاةِ الْعَصْرِ مَلَأَ اللهُ أَجْوَافَهُمْ وَقُبُورَهُمْ نَارًا»

[AI] The Prophet ﷺ was occupied with something that caused him to miss the afternoon prayer until he prayed it between the evening prayers. He said, "Those who are preoccupied with the middle prayer, may Allah fill their houses and graves with fire."

شَغَلُوا النَّبِيَّ ﷺ عَنْ صَلَاةِ الْعَصْرِ حَتَّى صَلَّاهَا بَيْنَ صَلَاتِي الْعِشَاءِ فَقَالَ «شَغَلُونَا عَنْ صَلَاةِ الْوُسْطَى مَلَأَ اللهُ بُيُوتَهُمْ وَقُبُورَهُمْ نَارًا»

They distracted us on the day of al-Ahzab from ʿAsr prayer, until I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say: ʿThey distracted us from the middle prayer, ‘Asr prayer. May Allah fill their graves and houses or stomachs with fire.” (Using translation from Aḥmad 1036)

فَسَمِعْتُ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ يَقُولُ يَوْمَ الْأَحْزَابِ «شَغَلُونَا عَنْ صَلَاةِ الْوُسْطَى صَلَاةِ الْعَصْرِ مَلَأَ اللهُ قُبُورَهُمْ وَأَجْوَافَهُمْ نَارًا»

[AI] The Prophet ﷺ was occupied and did not pray Asr until he prayed it between Maghrib and Isha prayers, so he said, "They have occupied us from performing the mid-afternoon prayer, may Allah fill their homes and graves with fire."

شَغَلُوا النَّبِيَّ ﷺ عَنْ صَلَاةِ الْعَصْرِ حَتَّى صَلَّاهَا بَيْنَ صَلَاتَيِ الْعِشَاءِ فَقَالَ «شَغَلُونَا عَنْ صَلَاةِ الْوُسْطَى مَلَأَ اللهُ بُيُوتَهُمْ وَقُبُورَهُمْ نَارًا»

[AI] I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ saying on the day of Al-Ahzab, "They have distracted us from offering the Asr (noon) prayer until the sun has set. May Allah fill their graves and bellies with fire."

سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَوْمَ الْأَحْزَابِ يَقُولُ شَغَلُونَا عَنْ صَلَاةِ الْوُسْطَى الْعَصْرِ حَتَّى غَابَتِ الشَّمْسُ مَلَأَ اللهُ قُبُورَهُمْ وَأَجْوَافَهُمْ نَارًا

[AI] I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say, "On the day of Al-Khandaq (the Battle of the Trench), we were preoccupied and missed the middle prayer (Dhuhr), so Allah filled their bellies and graves with fire."

سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ يَوْمَ الْخَنْدَقِ شَغَلُونَا عَنْ صَلَاةِ الْوُسْطَى صَلَاةَ الْعَصْرِ مَلَأَ اللهُ أَجْوَافَهُمْ وَقُبُورَهُمْ نَارًا

[AI] "He said that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ was occupied on the Day of the Confederates, that he missed the Asr prayer until he prayed between Maghrib and Isha. Thus, he said, 'They have occupied us from the middle prayer of Asr. May Allah fill their graves and homes with fire.'"

أَنَّهُ قَالَ شُغِلَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ يَوْمَ الْأَحْزَابِ عَنْ صَلَاةِ الْعَصْرِ حَتَّى صَلَّى مَا بَيْنَ الْمَغْرِبِ وَالْعِشَاءِ فَقَالَ شَغَلُونَا عَنِ الصَّلَاةِ الْوُسْطَى صَلَاةِ الْعَصْرِ مَلَأَ اللهُ قُبُورَهُمْ وَبُيُوتَهُمْ نَارًا

"اللَّهُمَّ مَنْ حَبَسَنَا عَن الصلاة الوُسْطَى فَامْلأ بُيُوتَهُمْ نَارًا وَامْلأ قُبُورَهُمْ نَارًا".

"شَغَلُونَا عَنِ الصَّلَاةِ الْوُسْطَى - مَلأَ الله قُبُورَهُمْ وَبُيُوتَهُمْ نَارًا".

"شَغَلُونَا عَنِ الصَّلَاةِ الْوُسْطَى صَلَاةِ الْعَصْرِ، مَلأَ الله تعَالَى أَجْوَافَهُمْ وَقُبُورَهُمْ نَارًا".

"مَلأَ اللهُ بُيُوتَهُمْ وَقُبُورَهُمْ نَارًا، كَمَا شَغَلُونَا عَنِ الصَّلاةِ الْوُسْطَى حَتَّى غَابَتِ الشَّمْسُ".

" عن على أن رسول الله ﷺ قال يوم الأحزاب: ملأ الله بيوتهم وقبورهم نارا كما شغلونا عن الصلاة الوسطى حتى غابت الشمس ".

"عَنْ حُذَيْفَةَ: سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ الله ﷺ يَقُولُ يَوْمَ الخَنْدَقِ: شَغَلُونَا عَنْ صَلَاةِ العَصْرِ، فَلَمْ يُصَلِّهَا يَوْمَئِذٍ حتَّى غَابَتِ الشَّمْسُ، مَلأَ الله بُيُوتَهُمْ وَقُبُورَهُمْ نَارًا".

" عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ قَالَ: قَاتَلَ رَسُولُ الله ﷺ : المُشْرِكينَ حَتَّى فَاتَتْهُمُ الصَّلاَةُ، فَقَالَ رَسُولُ الله ﷺ : شَغَلُونَا عَنْ صَلاَةِ الوُسْطَى صَلاَةِ العَصْرِ، مَلأَ الله قُلُوبَهُمْ وَأَجْوَافَهُمْ نَارًا".
