[Machine] "An Arab man presented a camel to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ as a gift. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ compensated him by giving him six camels in return. This angered the man. The news reached the Prophet ﷺ, and he praised Allah and spoke highly of the man. Then, the Prophet ﷺ said, 'Indeed, so-and-so presented me with a camel, and it is my camel. I know it, just like I know some of my family members. It went missing on the day of Zaghābāt (a battle), and I compensated him with six camels. Yet, he remains angry. I have intended not to accept a gift except from Quraysh, Ansar, Thaqafi, or Dawsis.'"  

أَنَّ أَعْرَابِيًّا أَهْدَى إِلَى رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ بَكْرَةً فَعَوَّضَهُ مِنْهَا سِتَّ بَكَرَاتٍ فَتَسَخَّطَهُ فَبَلَغَ ذَلِكَ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ فَحَمِدَ اللهَ وَأَثْنَى عَلَيْهِ ثُمَّ قَالَ إِنَّ فُلَانًا أَهْدَى إِلَيَّ نَاقَةً وَهِيَ نَاقَتِي أَعْرِفُهَا كَمَا أَعْرِفُ بَعْضَ أَهْلِي ذَهَبَتْ مِنِّي يَوْمَ زَغَابَاتٍ فَعَوَّضْتُهُ سِتَّ بَكَرَاتٍ فَظَلَّ سَاخِطًا لَقَدْ هَمَمْتُ أَنْ لَا أَقْبَلَ هَدِيَّةً إِلَّا مِنْ قُرَشِيٍّ أَوْ أَنْصَارِيٍّ أَوْثَقَفِيٍّ أَوْ دَوْسِيٍّ  

"مَنْ يَعْذرُني مِنْ فُلانٍ؟ أَهْدَى إِلَيَّ لِقْحَةً (*)، فَكَأَنِّي أَنْظُرُ إِلَيهَا فِي وَجْهِ بَعْضِ أَهْلِي، فَأَثَبْتُهُ بِسِتِّ بَكَرَاتٍ فَتَسَخَّطَهَا، لَقَدْ هَمَمْتُ ألَّا أَقْبَلَ هَدِيَّةً إِلا أَنْ يَكُونَ قُرَشِيٌّ، أَوْ أَنْصَارِيٌّ، أَوْ ثَقَفِيٌّ، أَوْ دَوْسِيٌّ" (* *).
