"سماك بن حرب قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ النُّعْمَانَ بْنَ بَشِيرٍ يَقُولُ عَلَى الْمِنْبَرِ: احْمَدُوا رَبَّكُمْ فَربَّما رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ الله ﷺ يَتَلَّوى مَا يَشْبَعُ مِنْ الدقل (*) وأَنْتُمْ لَا تَرْضونَ دُونَ أَلْوَانِ التَّمْرِ والزُّبْدِ".

[Machine] I heard Nu'man ibn Bashir say from the pulpit of Kufa, "By Allah, the Prophet ﷺ or your Prophet ﷺ never ate his fill of barley bread or what you prefer, except for dates and butter."
