[Machine] I presented a bow to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ , and he gave it to me on the day of Uhud. I shot arrows with it in front of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ until it loosened from its bowstring. I remained in my place, aiming at the face of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ , throwing arrows at him. Whenever an arrow moved from its place towards the face of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ , I would turn my head away in order to protect the face of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ . Without throwing, I threw it out of love for him. The last arrow pierced my eye and the group dispersed. I took my eye in my hand and I ran with it in my hand towards the Messenger of Allah ﷺ . When the Messenger of Allah ﷺ saw my eye in my hand, tears filled his eyes, and he said, "O Allah, Qatadah has directed your Prophet with his own face, so make it the most beautiful and perfect of his eyes and grant him vision." So it became the most beautiful of his eyes and he obtained perfect vision.  

أُهْدِيَ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ قَوْسٌ فَدَفَعَهَا إِلَيَّ يَوْمَ أُحُدٍ فَرَمَيْتُ بِهَا بَيْنَ يَدَيْ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ حَتَّى انْدَقَّتْ عَنْ سِنَّتِهَا وَلَمْ أَزَلْ عَنْ مَقَامِي نَصْبَ وَجْهِ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ أَلْقَى السِّهَامَ بِوَجْهِي كُلَّمَا مَالَ سَهْمٌ مِنْهَا إِلَى وَجْهِ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ مَيَّلْتُ رَأْسِي لِأَقِيَ وَجْهَ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ بِلَا رَمْيٍ أَرْمِيَهِ فَكَانَ آخِرُهَا سَهْمًا بَدَرَتْ مِنْهُ حَدَقَتِي عَلَى خَدِّي وَتَفَرَّقَ الْجَمْعُ فَأَخَذْتُ حَدَقَتِي بِكَفِّي فَسَعَيْتُ بِهَا فِي كَفِّي إِلَى رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ فَلَمَّا رَآهَا رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ فِي كَفِّي دَمَعَتْ عَيْنَاهُ فَقَالَ «اللهُمَّ إِنَّ قَتَادَةَ قَدْ أَوْجَهَ نَبِيَّكَ بِوَجْهِهِ فَاجْعَلْهَا أَحْسَنَ عَيْنَيْهِ وَأَحَدَّهُمَا نَظَرًا» فَكَانَتْ أَحْسَنَ عَيْنَيْهِ وَأَحَدَّهُمَا نَظَرًا
