The people said: Messenger of Allah , prices have shot up, so fix prices for us. Thereupon the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: Allah is the one Who fixes prices, Who withholds, gives lavishly and provides, and I hope that when I meet Allah, none of you will have any claim on me for an injustice regarding blood or property.

النَّاسُ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ غَلاَ السِّعْرُ فَسَعِّرْ لَنَا فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ إِنَّ اللَّهَ هُوَ الْمُسَعِّرُ الْقَابِضُ الْبَاسِطُ الرَّازِقُ وَإِنِّي لأَرْجُو أَنْ أَلْقَى اللَّهَ وَلَيْسَ أَحَدٌ مِنْكُمْ يُطَالِبُنِي بِمَظْلَمَةٍ فِي دَمٍ وَلاَ مَالٍ

"Prices became excessive during the time of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, so they said: 'O Messenger of Allah! Set prices for us!' So he said: 'Indeed Allah is Al-Musa'ir, Al-Qabid, Al-Basir, Ar-Razzaq. And I am hopeful that I meet my Lord and none of you are seeking (recompense from) me for an injustice involving blood or wealth.'"

غَلاَ السِّعْرُ عَلَى عَهْدِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ فَقَالُوا يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ سَعِّرْ لَنَا فَقَالَ إِنَّ اللَّهَ هُوَ الْمُسَعِّرُ الْقَابِضُ الْبَاسِطُ الرَّزَّاقُ وَإِنِّي لأَرْجُو أَنْ أَلْقَى رَبِّي وَلَيْسَ أَحَدٌ مِنْكُمْ يَطْلُبُنِي بِمَظْلَمَةٍ فِي دَمٍ وَلاَ مَالٍ

"Prices rose during the time of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, and they said: 'O Messenger of Allah, prices have risen, so fix the prices for us.' He said: 'Indeed Allah is the Musa'ir, [1] the Qabid, (Restrainer) the Basit,[2] the Razzaq (Provider). And I am hopeful that I meet my Lord and none of you are seeking (recompense from) me for an injustice involving blood or wealth."

غَلاَ السِّعْرُ عَلَى عَهْدِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ فَقَالُوا يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ قَدْ غَلاَ السِّعْرُ فَسَعِّرْ لَنَا فَقَالَ إِنَّ اللَّهَ هُوَ الْمُسَعِّرُ الْقَابِضُ الْبَاسِطُ الرَّازِقُ إِنِّي لأَرْجُو أَنْ أَلْقَى رَبِّي وَلَيْسَ أَحَدٌ يَطْلُبُنِي بِمَظْلَمَةٍ فِي دَمٍ وَلاَ مَالٍ

"Prices rose at the time of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, and they said: 'Why do you not fix the food prices, O Messenger of Allah?' He said: 'I hope that when I leave you, no one among you will be demanding restitution for a wrong that I have done to him."'

[AI] "Some people came to the Prophet ﷺ and said, "Inform us about the prices, O Messenger of Allah." The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "The price increase and decrease are in the hands of Allah. I hope to meet Allah ﷻ with no injustice from any of you regarding wealth or bloodshed."

أَنَّ أُنَاسًا أَتَوُا النَّبِيَّ ﷺ فَقَالُوا سَعِّرْ لَنَا أَسْعَارًا يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «إِنَّ غَلَاءَ أَسْعَارِكُمْ وَرُخْصِهَا بِيَدِ اللهِ ﷻ إِنِّي لَأَرْجُو أَنْ أَلْقَى اللهَ ﷻ وَلَيْسَ لِأَحَدٍ مِنْكُمْ قِبَلِي مَظْلَمَةٌ فِي مَالٍ وَلَا دَمٍ»

[AI] They said, "O Messenger of Allah, give us a price." He said, "Indeed, Allah is the one who determines prices. He grants blessings and withholds. I hope to meet Allah and none of you will ask me for any injustice regarding wealth or property."

قَالُوا يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ سَعِّرْ لَنَا قَالَ «إِنَّ اللهَ هُوَ الْمُسَعِّرُ الْقَابِضُ الْبَاسِطُ إِنِّي لَأَرْجُو أَنْ أَلْقَى اللهَ وَلَيْسَ أَحَدٌ مِنْكُمْ يَطْلُبُنِي بِمَظْلَمَةٍ فِي عَرَضٍ وَلَا مَالٍ»

"إِنَّ الله تعالى هو المُسَعِّرُ القابِضُ الباسطُ، وَإِنِّي لأَرْجُو أَنْ ألْقَى الله وليس أَحَدٌ منكم يطلبُنى بمظلِمةٍ في عِرْضٍ ولا مال ".

"عن عليٍّ قال: قيل يا رسول الله: قَوِّم لنا السِّعْرَ. قال: إنَّ غَلاء السِّعْرِ وَرِخَصَهُ بيد الله، أُريدُ أَنْ أَلْقَى رَبِّى وَلَيْس أَحَدٌ يَطلُبُنى بمَظلمَةٍ ظَلَمْتُهَا إيَّاه".

" أَنْبَأَنَا مَعْمَرٌ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ، عَن الحَسَنِ، قَالَ: غَلَا السِّعْرُ مَرَّةً بِالمَدِينَةِ فَقَالَ النَّاسُ: يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ سَعِّرْ لَنَا، فَقَالَ: إِنَّ اللَّهَ هُوَ الخَالِقُ الرَّزاقُ القَابِضُ البَاسِطُ المُسَعِّرُ، وَإنِّى لا أَرجو (*) أَنْ أَلْقَى اللَّهَ -تَعَالَى- لَا يَطْلُبُنِى أَحَدٌ بمظْلَمَة ظَلَمْتُهَا إيَّاهُ فِى أَهْلٍ وَلَا مَالٍ".
