عَلِيٌّ كُنْتُ إِذَا سَأَلْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ أَعْطَانِي وَإِذَا سَكَتُّ ابْتَدَأَنِي هَذَا حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ غَرِيبٌ مِنْ هَذَا الْوَجْهِ

tirmidhi:3729 – Khallād b. Aslam al-Baghdādī > al-Naḍr b. Shumayl > ʿAwf > ʿAbdullāh b. ʿAmr b. Hind al-Jamalī

Abū ʿĪsá said that this Ḥadīth is Ḥasan-Gharīb in this particular context.

سَمِعْتُ عَلِيًّا يَقُولُ «كُنْتُ إِذَا سَأَلْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ أَعْطَانِي وَإِذَا سَكَتَ ابْتَدَأَنِي»

هَذَا حَدِيثٌ صَحِيحٌ عَلَى شَرْطِ الشَّيْخَيْنِ وَلَمْ يُخَرِّجَاهُ على شرط البخاري ومسلم
