We used to offer the ʿAsr prayer with the Prophet ﷺ and slaughter a camel, the meat of which would be divided in ten parts. We would eat the cooked meat before sunset.

كُنَّا نُصَلِّي مَعَ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ الْعَصْرَ فَنَنْحَرُ جَزُورًا فَتُقْسَمُ عَشْرَ قِسَمٍ فَنَأْكُلُ لَحْمًا نَضِيجًا قَبْلَ أَنْ تَغْرُبَ الشَّمْسُ

We used to say the afternoon prayer with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, and then the camel was slaughtered and ten parts of it were distributed; then it was cooked and then we ate this cooked meat before the sinking of the sun.

سَمِعْتُ رَافِعَ بْنَ خَدِيجٍ يَقُولُ كُنَّا نُصَلِّي الْعَصْرَ مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ ثُمَّ تُنْحَرُ الْجَزُورُ فَتُقْسَمُ عَشَرَ قِسَمٍ ثُمَّ تُطْبَخُ فَنَأْكُلُ لَحْمًا نَضِيجًا قَبْلَ مَغِيبِ الشَّمْسِ

[AI] We used to pray the Asr prayer with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ , then we would slaughter the animals. They would be divided into ten parts and cooked, and we would eat the cooked meat before the sun sets. He said, "And we used to pray the Maghrib prayer during the time of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ . After that, one of us would leave and he would look at his noble standing places."

كُنَّا نُصَلِّي مَعَ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ صَلَاةَ الْعَصْرِ ثُمَّ نَنْحَرُ الْجَزُورَ فَتُقْسَمُ عَشَرَ قَسْمٍ ثُمَّ تُطْبَخُ فَنَأْكُلُ لَحْمًا نَضِيجًا قَبْلَ أَنْ تَغِيبَ الشَّمْسُ قَالَ وَكُنَّا نُصَلِّي الْمَغْرِبَ عَلَى عَهْدِ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ فَيَنْصَرِفُ أَحَدُنَا وَإِنَّهُ لَيَنْظُرُ إِلَى مَوَاقِعِ نَبْلِهِ

[AI] "We used to pray Asr with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ , then we would slaughter the animals and divide them into ten parts. Then we would cook and eat well-cooked meat before praying Maghrib."

كُنَّا نُصَلِّي الْعَصْرَ مَعَ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ ثُمَّ نَنْحَرُ الْجَزُورَ فَنُقَسِّمُهُ عَشَرَةَ أَجْزَاءٍ ثُمَّ نَطْبُخُ فَنَأْكُلُ لَحْمًا نَضِيجًا قَبْلَ أَنْ نُصَلِّيَ الْمَغْرِبَ

[AI] I heard Rafi' ibn Khadij saying, "We used to pray Asr prayer with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, then the camels would be slaughtered and divided into ten parts, then they would be cooked. We would eat well-cooked meat before the sunset. And we used to pray Maghrib prayer during the time of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, then one of us would leave and he would look at the place of his spear."

سَمِعْتُ رَافِعَ بْنَ خَدِيجٍ يَقُولُ «كُنَّا نُصَلِّي الْعَصْرَ مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ ثُمَّ تُنْحَرُ الْجَزُورُ فَتُقْسَمُ عَشْرَ قِسَمٍ ثُمَّ تُطْبَخُ فَنَأْكُلُ لَحْمًا نَضِيجًا قَبْلَ أَنْ تَغْرُبَ الشَّمْسُ وَكُنَّا نُصَلِّي الْمَغْرِبَ عَلَى عَهْدِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ فَيَنْصَرِفُ أَحَدُنَا وَإِنَّهُ لَيَنْظُرُ إِلَى مَوْقِعِ نَبْلِهِ»

[AI] "We used to pray the afternoon prayer (Asr) with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, then we would slaughter the animals and distribute them. Then we would cook and eat the well-done meat before the sunset."
