There ˹should be˺ no fasting after the middle of ˹the month of˺ Shaʿbān until the entrance of ˹the month of˺ Ramaḍān.

ذِكْرُ الزَّجْرِ عَنْ إِنْشَاءِ الصَّوْمِ بَعْدَ النِّصْفِ الْأَوَّلِ مِنْ شَعْبَانَ

from the Prophet ﷺ who said, "There ˹should be˺ no fasting after the middle of ˹the month of˺ Shaʿbān until the month of Ramaḍān arrives.”  

ابن حبّان:٣٥٩١ – أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الْأَزْدِيُّ قَالَ؛ حَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ قَالَ؛ أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو عَامِرٍ الْعَقَدِيُّ قَالَ؛ حَدَّثَنَا زُهَيْرُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ؛ عَنِ الْعَلَاءِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ؛ عَنْ أَبِيهِ؛ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ؓ

عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ قَالَ «لَا صَوْمَ بَعْدَ النِّصْفِ مِنْ شَعْبَانَ حَتَّى يَجِيءَ شَهْرُ رَمَضَانَ۔»  

suyuti:2671a –

"When it is the middle of ˹the month of˺ Shaʿbān then withhold ˹fasting˺ until ˹the month of˺ Ramaḍān enters."
