The Prophet ﷺ said, "A man's spending on his family is a deed of charity."
عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ نَفَقَةُ الرَّجُلِ عَلَى أَهْلِهِ صَدَقَةٌ
"When a man spends on his family, seeking reward for that, that is an act of charity on his part." (Using translation from Nasāʾī 2545)
قَالَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ نَفَقَةُ الرَّجُلِ عَلَى أَهْلِهِ يَحْتَسِبُهَا صَدَقَةٌ
The Prophet ﷺ said, "If a man spends on his family (with the intention of having a reward from Allah) sincerely for Allah's sake then it is a (kind of) alms-giving in reward for him. (Using translation from Bukhārī 55)
