I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say: May Allah brighten a man who hears a tradition from us, gets it by heart and passes it on to others. Many a bearer of knowledge conveys it to one who is more versed than he is; and many a bearer of knowledge is not versed in it.

سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ نَضَّرَ اللَّهُ امْرَأً سَمِعَ مِنَّا حَدِيثًا فَحَفِظَهُ حَتَّى يُبَلِّغَهُ فَرُبَّ حَامِلِ فِقْهٍ إِلَى مَنْ هُوَ أَفْقَهُ مِنْهُ وَرُبَّ حَامِلِ فِقْهٍ لَيْسَ بِفَقِيهٍ

The Prophet said: "May Allah cause his face to shine, the man who hears a Hadith from us and conveys it, for perhaps the one to whom it is conveyed may remember it better than the one who (first) hears it."

أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ قَالَ نَضَّرَ اللَّهُ امْرَأً سَمِعَ مِنَّا حَدِيثًا فَبَلَّغَهُ فَرُبَّ مُبَلَّغٍ أَحْفَظُ مِنْ سَامِعٍ

"The Messenger of Allah said: 'May Allah cause to flourish a slave (of His) who hears my words and understands them, then he conveys them from me. There are those who have knowledge but no understanding, and there may be those who convey knowledge to those who may have more understanding of it than they do.'"

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ نَضَّرَ اللَّهُ عَبْدًا سَمِعَ مَقَالَتِي فَوَعَاهَا ثُمَّ بَلَّغَهَا عَنِّي فَرُبَّ حَامِلِ فِقْهٍ غَيْرِ فَقِيهٍ وَرُبَّ حَامِلِ فِقْهٍ إِلَى مَنْ هُوَ أَفْقَهُ مِنْهُ

"The Messenger of Allah said: 'May Allah cause to flourish a slave (of His) who hears my words and understands them, then he conveys them from me. There are those who have knowledge but no understanding, and there may be those who convey knowledge to those who may have more understanding of it than they do.'" قَامَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ بِالْخَيْفِ مِنْ مِنًى فَقَالَ «نَضَّرَ اللَّهُ عَبْدًا سَمِعَ مَقَالَتِي فَوَعَاهَا ثُمَّ أَدَّاهَا إِلَى مَنْ لَمْ يَسْمَعْهَا فَرُبَّ حَامِلِ فِقْهٍ لَا فِقْهَ لَهُ وَرُبَّ حَامِلِ فِقْهٍ إِلَى مَنْ هُوَ أَفْقَهُ مِنْهُ»

"I heard 'Abdur-Rahman bin 'Abdullah bin Mas'ud narrating from his father who said: 'I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ saying: 'May Allah gladden a man who hears something from us, so he conveys it as he heard it. Perhaps the one it is conveyed to is more understanding than the one who heard it.'" (Using translation from Tirmidhī 2657)

سَمِعْتُ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ يَقُولُ «نَضَّرَ اللَّهُ امْرَأً سَمِعَ مِنَّا حَدِيثًا فَبَلَّغَهُ كَمَا سَمِعَهُ فَرُبَّ مُبَلَّغٍ أَوْعَى مِنْ سَامِعٍ»

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ «رَحِمَ اللهُ عَبْدًا سَمِعَ مَقَالَتِي فَحَفِظَها فَرُبَّ حَامِلِ فِقْهٍ غَيْرُ فَقِيهٍ وَرَبُّ حَامِلِ فِقْهٍ إِلَى مَنْ هُوَ أَفْقَهُ مِنْهُ»

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ «رَحِمَ اللهُ عَبْدًا سَمِعَ مَقَالَتِي فَحَفِظَها فَرُبَّ حَامِلِ فِقْهٍ غَيْرُ فَقِيهٍ وَرَبُّ حَامِلِ فِقْهٍ إِلَى مَنْ هُوَ أَفْقَهُ مِنْهُ»

[AI] The Prophet ﷺ said, "May Allah brighten the face of a person who hears a tradition from us and memorizes it, then conveys it to others. There are often those who understand jurisprudence but are not jurists."

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ «نَضَّرَ اللهُ امْرَأً سَمِعَ مِنَّا حَدِيثًا فَحَفِظَهُ فَبَلَّغَهُ فَرُبَّ حَامِلِ فِقْهٍ لَيْسَ بِفَقِيهٍ»

[AI] On the authority of the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, he said, "May Allah brighten the face of a person who hears a statement from us, memorizes it, and conveys it to others. Perhaps the one who carries knowledge is not himself a scholar."

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ «نَضَّرَ اللهُ امْرَأً سَمِعَ مِنَّا حَدِيثًا فَحَفِظَهُ فَبَلَّغَهُ فَرُبَّ حَامِلِ فِقْهٍ لَيْسَ بِفَقِيهٍ»

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «نَضَّرَ اللهُ عَبْدًا سَمِعَ مَقَالَتِي فَحَمَلَهَا إِلَى غَيْرِهِ فَرُبَّ حَامِلِ فِقْهٍ إِلَى مَنْ هُوَ أَفْقَهُ مِنْهُ وَرَبَّ حَامِلِ فِقْهٍ لَيْسَ بِفَقِيهٍ»

[AI] The Prophet ﷺ addressed them and said, "May Allah bless a person who hears my speech and understands it. There are those who carry knowledge, but have no understanding of it, and there are those who carry knowledge and pass it on to those who have more understanding than them."

أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ خَطَبَهُمْ فَقَالَ «نَضَّرَ اللهُ امْرَأً سَمِعَ مَقَالَتِي فَوَعَاهَا فَرُبَّ حَامِلِ فِقْهٍ لَا فِقْهَ لَهُ وَرَبَّ حَامِلِ فِقْهٍ إِلَى مَنْ هُوَ أفْقَهُ مِنْهُ»

[AI] The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ said, "May Allah brighten the face of a person who hears my words and does not add to them. Indeed, there may be someone with knowledge who conveys it to someone more understanding than themselves."

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «نَضَّرَ اللهُ عَبْدًا سَمِعَ كَلَامِي ثُمَّ لَمْ يَزِدْ فِيهِ فَرُبَّ حَامِلِ فِقْهٍ إِلَى أَوْعَى مِنْهُ»

[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "May Allah bless a servant who hears my words and does not add anything to them. Indeed, there may be someone who understands a religious knowledge better than the one who carries it."

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «نَضَّرَ اللهُ عَبْدًا سَمِعَ كَلَامِي ثُمَّ لَمْ يَزِدْ فِيهِ فَرُبَّ حَامِلِ فِقْهٍ إِلَى أَوْعَى مِنْهُ»

سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ «نَضَّرَ اللهُ امْرَأً سَمِعَ مِنَّا حَدِيثًا حَفِظَهُ حَتَّى يُبَلِّغَهُ غَيْرَهُ فَرُبَّ حَامِلِ فِقْهٍ إِلَى مَنْ هُوَ أَفْقَهُ مِنْهُ وَرُبَّ حَامِلِ فِقْهٍ لَيْسَ بِفَقِيهٍ»

"رَحِمَ اللَّهُ عبْدًا سَمِع مقَالَتِى فَحفِظَها، فرُّبَّ حامِل فِقْه غيرِ فَقِيه، ورُبَّ حامِل فقْه إِلَى منْ هُو أَفْقَهُ منْهُ، ثَلَاثٌ لَا يُغِلُّ علَيْهِنَّ قَلْبُ مُؤْمِنٍ: إِخَلَاصُ الْعملِ للَّهِ، ومُنَاصحةُ وُلَاةِ الْمُسْلِمِين ولُزُومُ جَماعةِ الْمُسْلِمِين".

"نَضَّرَ الله امرأً سَمِعَ مِنَّا حَدِيثًا فَحَفِظَهُ حَتَّى يُبَلِّغَهُ غَيرَهُ، فَرُبَّ حَامِلِ فِقْهٍ إِلَى مَنْ هُوَ أَفْقَهُ مِنْهُ، وَرُبَّ حَامِلِ فِقْهٍ لَيسَ بِفَقِيهٍ".

"نَضَّرَ الله عَبْدًا سَمِعَ مَقَالتِي فَوعَاهَا، ثُمَّ بَلَّغها عَنِّي، فَرُبَّ حَامِلِ فِقْهٍ غَير فَقِيهٍ، وربَّ حَامِلِ فِقْه إِلَى مَنْ هُوَ أَفْقَهُ مِنْهُ".
