"مَنْ قتِلَ في عمِّيَّا في رمِّيَّا يَكُونُ بَينَهُمْ بِحِجَارَةٍ أَوْ بالسِّياطِ أَوْ ضَرْبا بِعَصًا فَهُوَ خَطَأٌ، وَعَقْلُهُ عَقْلُ الْخَطَإِ، وَمَنْ قُتِلَ عَمْدًا فَهُوَ قَوَدُ يَدٍ، وَمَنْ حَال دُونَهُ فَعَلَيهِ لعْنَةُ اللهِ وغَضَبُهُ، لا يَقْبَلُ اللهُ مِنْهُ صَرْفًا وَلا عَدْلًا".

If anyone is killed. Ibn 'Ubaid in his version said: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: If anyone is killed in error (blindly) when people are throwing stones, or by beating with whips, or striking with a stick, it is accidental and the compensation for accidental death is due. But if anyone is killed deliberately, retaliation is due. Ibn 'Ubaid in his version: Retaliation of the man is due. The agreed version then goes: If anyone comes in (between the two parties) to prevent it, Allah's curse and anger will rest on him, and neither supererogatory nor obligatory acts will be accepted from him. The version of the tradition of Sufyan is more perfect.

The Prophet ﷺ said: If anyone is killed blindly or, when people are throwing stones, by a stone or a whip, his blood-wit is the blood-wit for an accidental murder. Whoever tries to prevent that, upon him is the curse of Allah, the angels and all the people, and no change nor equitable exchange will be accepted from him.”
عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ رَفَعَهُ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ مَنْ قَتَلَ فِي عِمِّيَّةٍ أَوْ عَصَبِيَّةٍ بِحَجَرٍ أَوْ سَوْطٍ أَوْ عَصًا فَعَلَيْهِ عَقْلُ الْخَطَإِ وَمَنْ قَتَلَ عَمْدًا فَهُوَ قَوَدٌ وَمَنْ حَالَ بَيْنَهُ وَبَيْنَهُ فَعَلَيْهِ لَعْنَةُ اللَّهِ وَالْمَلاَئِكَةِ وَالنَّاسِ أَجْمَعِينَ لاَ يُقْبَلُ مِنْهُ صَرْفٌ وَلاَ عَدْلٌ
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah, ﷺ said, "Whoever is killed in 'ummiyah or rimmīyah with a stone or a stick, then his blood money is severe upon his killer. And whoever is killed by his own hand, then he is the one responsible with his own hand. And whoever conceals him, then upon him is the curse of Allah, the angels, and all the people. No ransom or compensation will be accepted from him."

"مَن قُتِلَ في عِمِّيَّا أَوْ رِمِّيَّا يكون بينهم بحجرٍ أَو بسوطٍ، فَعَقْلهُ عَقْلُ خَطَإٍ، ومن قُتِلَ عمدًا فَقودٌ يَديه فَمَن حَال بَينَه وبينَه فَعَلَيه لعنة الله والملائكةَ والنَّاس أَجمعينَ".
