"مَنْ حَدَّثَ حَدِيثًا لَا يُحِبُّ أَنْ يُفْشَى عَلَيهِ فَهُوَ أَمَانَةٌ، وَإِن لَمْ يَسْتَكْتمْهُ صَاحبَهُ".

[Machine] I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ saying, "Whoever narrates a statement that he does not want to be spread, then it is a trust, even if its owner does not keep it confidential."  

الطبراني:١٤٠٥٨ – حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ الْحَضْرَمِيُّ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا ضِرَارُ بْنُ صُرَدٍ أَبُو نُعَيْمٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ فُضَيْلٍ عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللهِ بْنِ الْوَلِيدِ الْوَصَّافِيِّ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ عُبَيْدِ بْنِ عُمَيْرٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ قَالَ كَانَ عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ سَلَامٍ جَالِسًا فَتَكَلَّمَ بِكَلِمَةٍ فَسَمِعَهُ رَجُلٌ لَمْ يُحِبَّ أَنْ يَسْمَعَهُ فَالْتَفَتَ إِلَى أَبِي الدَّرْدَاءِ فَقَالَ أَنَا

سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ «مَنْ حَدَّثَ حَدِيثًا لَا يُحِبُّ أَنْ يُفْشَا عَلَيْهِ فَهُوَ أَمَانَةٌ وَإِنْ لَمْ يَسْتَكْتِمْهُ صَاحِبُهُ»
