“The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: ‘At night Satan ties a rope in which there are three knots to the nape of the neck of anyone of you. If he wakes up and remembers Allah, one knot is untied. If he performs ablution, another knot is untied, and if he gets up to pray, all the knots are untied, so he wakes up energetic and cheerful, he has already earned something good. But if he does not do that, he wakes up bad-tempered, having earned nothing good.”

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ يَعْقِدُ الشَّيْطَانُ عَلَى قَافِيَةِ رَأْسِ أَحَدِكُمْ بِاللَّيْلِ بِحَبْلٍ فِيهِ ثَلاَثُ عُقَدٍ فَإِنِ اسْتَيْقَظَ فَذَكَرَ اللَّهَ انْحَلَّتْ عُقْدَةٌ فَإِذَا قَامَ فَتَوَضَّأَ انْحَلَّتْ عُقْدَةٌ فَإِذَا قَامَ إِلَى الصَّلاَةِ انْحَلَّتْ عُقَدُهُ كُلُّهَا فَيُصْبِحُ نَشِيطًا طَيِّبَ النَّفْسِ قَدْ أَصَابَ خَيْرًا وَإِنْ لَمْ يَفْعَلْ أَصْبَحَ كَسِلاً خَبِيثَ النَّفْسِ لَمْ يُصِبْ خَيْرًا

“The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: ‘At night Satan ties a rope in which there are three knots to the nape of the neck of anyone of you. If he wakes up and remembers Allah, one knot is untied. قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ قَافِيَةُ رَأْسِ أَحَدِكُمْ حَبْلٌ فِيهِ ثَلَاثُ عُقَدٍ فَإِذَا اسْتَيْقَظَ فَذَكَرَ اللهَ انْحَلَّتْ عُقْدَةٌ فَإِذَا قَامَ فَتَوَضَّأَ انْحَلَّتْ عُقْدَةٌ فَإِذَا قَامَ إِلَى الصَّلَاةِ انْحَلَّتْ عُقَدُهُ كُلُّهَا قَالَ فَيُصْبِحُ نَشِيطًا طَيِّبَ النَّفْسِ قَدْ أَصَابَ خَيْرًا وَإِنْ لَمْ يَفْعَلْ أَصْبَحَ كَسْلَانَ خَبِيثَ النَّفْسِ لَمْ يُصِبْ خَيْرًا

[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "There is not a male or female, except that there is a knot tied to their heads, which consists of three knots. When they sleep, one knot is untied. When they wake up and remember Allah, the second knot is untied. When they stand up and perform ablution, the third knot is untied. Thus, all the knots are untied."

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ مَا مِنْ ذَكَرٍ وَلَا أُنْثَى إِلَّاوَعَلَى رَأْسِهِ جَرِيرٌ مَعْقُودٌ ثَلَاثَ عُقَدٍ حِينَ يَرْقُدُ فَإِنْ اسْتَيْقَظَ فَذَكَرَ اللهَ انْحَلَّتْ عُقْدَةٌ فَإِذَا قَامَ فَتَوَضَّأَ انْحَلَّتْ عُقْدَةٌ فَإِذَا قَامَ إِلَى الصَّلَاةِ انْحَلَّتْ عُقَدُهُ كُلُّهَا

[AI] "To me, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, 'There is no male or female except that there is a knot tied at the back of their head when they sleep. So when they wake up and remember Allah, the knot is untied. And when they stand up and perform ablution and pray, the knots are completely untied.'"

لِي رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «مَا مِنْ ذَكَرٍ وَلَا أُنْثَى إِلَّا عَلَى رَأْسِهِ جَرِيرٌ مَعْقُودٌ حِينَ يَرْقُدُ فَإِنِ اسْتَيْقَظَ فَذَكَرَ اللَّهَ انْحَلَّتْ عُقْدَةٌ فَإِذَا قَامَ فَتَوَضَّأَ وَصَلَّى انْحَلَّتِ الْعُقَدُ»
