الحاكم في الكنى، والبغوى [طب] الطبرانى في الكبير وابن مندة، عن ابن أَبى حدرد، قال [كر] ابن عساكر في تاريخه اعتقد البغوى أَن ابن أَبى حدرد هو عبد اللَّه، فأخرجه في ترجمته، وإنما هو القعقاع بن عبد اللَّه بن أَبى حدرد، وكذلك رواه صفوان بن عيسى ويحيى بن زكريا بن أَبى زائِدة عن عبد اللَّه ابن سعيد المقبرى، فيكون الحديث مرسلا، لأن القعقاع لا صحبة له، وعبد اللَّه بن سعيد ضعيف بمرة
