The Messenger of Allah ﷺ saw (a tendency ) among his Companions to go to the back, so he said to them: Come forward and follow my lead, and let those who come after you follow your lead. People will continue to keep back till Allah will put them at the back.

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ رَأَى فِي أَصْحَابِهِ تَأَخُّرًا فَقَالَ لَهُمْ تَقَدَّمُوا فَائْتَمُّوا بِي وَلْيَأْتَمَّ بِكُمْ مَنْ بَعْدَكُمْ لاَ يَزَالُ قَوْمٌ يَتَأَخَّرُونَ حَتَّى يُؤَخِّرَهُمُ اللَّهُ

Abu Sa’Id al-Khudri said; The Messenger of Allah ﷺ saw a tendency among his companions to go to the back. He said to them; come forward and follow my lead, and let those who come after you follow your lead people will continue to keep to the back till Allah would put them at the back.

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ رَأَى فِي أَصْحَابِهِ تَأَخُّرًا فَقَالَ لَهُمْ تَقَدَّمُوا فَائْتَمُّوا بِي وَلْيَأْتَمَّ بِكُمْ مَنْ بَعْدَكُمْ وَلاَ يَزَالُ قَوْمٌ يَتَأَخَّرُونَ حَتَّى يُؤَخِّرَهُمُ اللَّهُ ﷻ

"Come forward and follow me, and let those who are behind you follow your lead. If people continue to lag behind, Allah, the Mighty and Sublime, will put them back."

أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ رَأَى فِي أَصْحَابِهِ تَأَخُّرًا فَقَالَ تَقَدَّمُوا فَأْتَمُّوا بِي وَلْيَأْتَمَّ بِكُمْ مَنْ بَعْدَكُمْ وَلاَ يَزَالُ قَوْمٌ يَتَأَخَّرُونَ حَتَّى يُؤَخِّرَهُمُ اللَّهُ ﷻ

“Come forward and follow me, and let those who are behind you follow your lead. If people continue to lag behind, Allah will put them back.”

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ رَأَى فِي أَصْحَابِهِ تَأَخُّرًا فَقَالَ تَقَدَّمُوا فَأْتَمُّوا بِي وَلْيَأْتَمَّ بِكُمْ مَنْ بَعْدَكُمْ لاَ يَزَالُ قَوْمٌ يَتَأَخَّرُونَ حَتَّى يُؤَخِّرَهُمُ اللَّهُ

[AI] Narrated by the Prophet ﷺ , he said, "Follow me and the one who follows me will be with me in paradise. Those who come after you will continue to delay until Allah delays them."

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ أَنَّهُ قَالَ ائْتَمُّوا بِي يَأْتَمُّ بِكُمْ مَنْ بَعْدَكُمْ فَإِنَّهُ لَا يَزَالُ قَوْمٌ يَتَأَخَّرُونَ حَتَّى يُؤَخِّرَهُمُ اللهُ ﷻ

رَأَى النَّبِيُّ ﷺ فِي أَصْحَابِهِ تَأَخُّرًا فَقَالَ تَقَدَّمُوا فَائْتَمُّوا بِي وَلْيَأْتَمَّ بِكُمْ مَنْ بَعْدَكُمْ لَا يَزَالُ قَوْمٌ يَتَأَخَّرُونَ حَتَّى يُؤَخِّرَهُمُ اللهُ ﷻ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ

“Come forward and follow me, and let those who are behind you follow your lead. If people continue to lag behind, Allah will put them back.” (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 978)

رَأَى رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ فِي أَصْحَابِهِ تَأَخُّرًا فَقَالَ تَقَدَّمُوا فَأْتَمُّوا بِي وَلْيَأْتَمَّ بِكُمْ مَنْ بَعْدَكُمْ وَلَا يَزَالُ قَوْمٌ يَتَأَخَّرُونَ حَتَّى يُؤَخِّرَهُمُ اللهُ

[AI] The Prophet ﷺ saw his companions lagging behind and said, "Move forward and come to me, and let those who come after you also come to me. There will always be people who lag behind until Allah causes them to lag behind." 873 Suwayd ibn Nasr informed us, saying, Abdullah narrated from Al-Jurairi from Abu Nadrah something similar to that.

أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ رَأَى فِي أَصْحَابِهِ تَأَخُّرًا فَقَالَ «تَقَدَّمُوا فَأْتَمُّوا بِي وَلْيَأْتَمَّ بِكُمْ مَنْ بَعْدَكُمْ وَلَا يَزَالُ قَوْمٌ يَتَأَخَّرُونَ حَتَّى يُؤَخِّرَهُمُ اللهُ» 873 أَخْبَرَنَا سُوَيْدُ بْنُ نَصْرٍ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ اللهِ عَنِ الْجُرَيْرِيِّ عَنْ أَبِي نَضْرَةَ نَحْوَهُ

"ائتمُّوا بي، وليأتَمَّ بكم مَنْ بَعْدَكُم، لا يزال قومٌ يتأخَّرون حتَّى يُؤَخِّرَهم الله".

"عَنْ أبِى سَعِيدٍ قَالَ: رَأى رَسُولُ الله ﷺ نَاسًا في مُؤَخرِ المَسْجِدِ فَقَالَ: لَا يَزَالُ قَوْم يَتَأخَّرُونَ حَتَّى يُؤَخِّرَهُمْ الله، ادْنُوا مِنِّي فَأتَمُّوا بِي، وَليأتَمَ بِكُمْ مَنْ بَعْدَكم" (5).
