"I heard Abu Mijlaz say: 'I asked Ibn 'Abbas something about the Jimar, and he said: I do not know, the Messenger of Allah stoned it with six or seven.

I asked Ibn Abbas about a thing concerning the throwing of stones at the jamrahs. He said: I do not know whether the Messenger of Allah ﷺ threw six or seven pebbles.  

أبو داود:١٩٧٧ – حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ الْمُبَارَكِ حَدَّثَنَا خَالِدُ بْنُ الْحَارِثِ حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ عَنْ قَتَادَةَ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ أَبَا مِجْلَزٍ يَقُولُ سَأَلْتُ ابْنَ عَبَّاسٍ عَنْ شَىْءٍ مِنْ أَمْرِ الْجِمَارِ فَقَالَ

مَا أَدْرِي أَرَمَاهَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ بِسِتٍّ أَوْ بِسَبْعٍ
