A man kissed a woman (unlawfully) and then went to the Prophet ﷺ and informed him. Allah revealed: And offer prayers perfectly At the two ends of the day And in some hours of the night (i.e. the five compulsory prayers). Verily! good deeds remove (annul) the evil deeds (small sins) (11.114). The man asked Messenger of Allah ﷺ, "Is it for me?" He said, "It is for all my followers."

أَنَّ رَجُلاً أَصَابَ مِنَ امْرَأَةٍ قُبْلَةً فَأَتَى النَّبِيَّ ﷺ فَأَخْبَرَهُ فَأَنْزَلَ اللَّهُ {أَقِمِ الصَّلاَةَ طَرَفَىِ النَّهَارِ وَزُلَفًا مِنَ اللَّيْلِ إِنَّ الْحَسَنَاتِ يُذْهِبْنَ السَّيِّئَاتِ} فَقَالَ الرَّجُلُ: يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ، أَلِي هَذَا قَالَ: «لِجَمِيعِ أُمَّتِي كُلِّهِمْ۔»

A man kissed a woman, then he came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and mentioned that to him. Then it was revealed to him: "Establish prayer at the two ends of the day and in the early hours of the night. Indeed, good deeds remove bad deeds. That is a reminder for those who remember." The man said, "Is this for me?" He said, "For whoever among my Ummah acts upon it."

أَنَّ رَجُلاً أَصَابَ مِنَ امْرَأَةٍ قُبْلَةً، فَأَتَى رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ فَذَكَرَ ذَلِكَ لَهُ، فَأُنْزِلَتْ عَلَيْهِ ﴿وَأَقِمِ الصَّلاَةَ طَرَفَىِ النَّهَارِ وَزُلَفًا مِنَ اللَّيْلِ، إِنَّ الْحَسَنَاتِ يُذْهِبْنَ السَّيِّئَاتِ ذَلِكَ ذِكْرَى لِلذَّاكِرِينَ﴾. قَالَ الرَّجُلُ: أَلِيَ هَذِهِ؟ قَالَ: «لِمَنْ عَمِلَ بِهَا مِنْ أُمَّتِي».

" And observe prayer at the (two) ends of the day and in the first hours of the night. Surely, good deeds take away evil deeds. That is a reminder for the mindful" (xi. 115). That person said: Messenger of Allah, does it concern me only? He (the Holy Prophet) said: It concerns every one of my Unimah, who acts according to it.

أَنَّ رَجُلاً أَصَابَ مِنِ امْرَأَةٍ قُبْلَةً فَأَتَى النَّبِيَّ ﷺ فَذَكَرَ لَهُ ذَلِكَ قَالَ فَنَزَلَتْ { أَقِمِ الصَّلاَةَ طَرَفَىِ النَّهَارِ وَزُلَفًا مِنَ اللَّيْلِ إِنَّ الْحَسَنَاتِ يُذْهِبْنَ السَّيِّئَاتِ ذَلِكَ ذِكْرَى لِلذَّاكِرِينَ} قَالَ فَقَالَ الرَّجُلُ أَلِيَ هَذِهِ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ قَالَ لِمَنْ عَمِلَ بِهَا مِنْ أُمَّتِي

that a man unlawfully kissed a woman. So he came to the Prophet ﷺ to ask him about its atonement. So (the following) Ayah was revealed: And perform the Salat, at the two ends of the day and in some hours of the night (11:114). The man said: "Is this for me O Messenger of Allah?" He said: "For you and for whoever does that among my Ummah."

أَنَّ رَجُلاً أَصَابَ مِنَ امْرَأَةٍ قُبْلَةَ حَرَامٍ فَأَتَى النَّبِيَّ ﷺ فَسَأَلَهُ عَنْ كَفَّارَتِهَا فَنَزَلَتْ ( أَقِمِ الصَّلاَةَ طَرَفَيِ النَّهَارِ وَزُلَفًا مِنَ اللَّيْلِ إِنَّ الْحَسَنَاتِ يُذْهِبْنَ السَّيِّئَاتِ ) فَقَالَ الرَّجُلُ أَلِيَ هَذِهِ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ فَقَالَ لَكَ وَلِمَنْ عَمِلَ بِهَا مِنْ أُمَّتِي

“And perform prayers at the two ends of the day and in some hours of the night. Verily, the good deeds remove the evil deeds. أَنَّ رَجُلاً أَتَى النَّبِيَّ ﷺ فَذَكَرَ أَنَّهُ أَصَابَ مِنِ امْرَأَةٍ قُبْلَةً فَجَعَلَ يَسْأَلُ عَنْ كَفَّارَتِهَا فَلَمْ يَقُلْ لَهُ شَيْئًا فَأَنْزَلَ اللَّهُ ﷻ {وَأَقِمِ الصَّلاَةَ طَرَفَىِ النَّهَارِ وَزُلَفًا مِنَ اللَّيْلِ إِنَّ الْحَسَنَاتِ يُذْهِبْنَ السَّيِّئَاتِ ذَلِكَ ذِكْرَى لِلذَّاكِرِينَ} فَقَالَ الرَّجُلُ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ أَلِي هَذِهِ فَقَالَ هِيَ لِمَنْ عَمِلَ بِهَا مِنْ أُمَّتِي

Verily, the good deeds remove the evil deeds (small sins) That is a reminder for the mindful.' (11.114) The man said, Is this instruction for me only?' The Prophet ﷺ said, "It is for all those of my followers who encounter a similar situation." (Using translation from Bukhārī 4687)
