[Machine] The Prophet ﷺ prohibited from eating the plant called "kurath" but people continued to eat it and couldn't find an alternative. He only found its smell and said, "Didn't I forbid you from eating it? So whoever eats it, let him not come near our mosques, for indeed the angels are bothered by what bothers the humans."  

الكبرى للنسائي:٦٦٥٣أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْأَعْلَى قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا خَالِدٌ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْمَلِكِ وَهُوَ ابْنُ جُرَيْجٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي أَبُو الزُّبَيْرِ عَنْ جَابِرٍ

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ نَهَى عَنِ الْكُرَّاثِ فَلَمْ يَنْتَهُوَا وَلَمْ يَجِدُوا مِنْ أَكْلِهَا بُدًا فَوَجَدَ رِيحَهَا فَقَالَ أَلَمْ أَنْهَكُمْ عَنْ أَكْلِهَا؟ فَمَنْ أَكَلَهَا فَلَا يَغْشَنَا فِي مَسَاجِدِنَا؛ فَإِنَّ الْمَلَائِكَةَ تَتَأَذَّى مِمَّا يَتَأَذَّى مِنْهُ الْإِنْسُ

ابن ماجة:٣٣٦٥حَدَّثَنَا حَرْمَلَةُ بْنُ يَحْيَى حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ وَهْبٍ أَنْبَأَنَا أَبُو شُرَيْحٍ عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ نِمْرَانَ الْحَجْرِيِّ عَنْ أَبِي الزُّبَيْرِ عَنْ جَابِرٍ

أَنَّ نَفَرًا أَتَوُا النَّبِيَّ ﷺ فَوَجَدَ مِنْهُمْ رِيحَ الْكُرَّاثِ فَقَالَ أَلَمْ أَكُنْ نَهَيْتُكُمْ عَنْ أَكْلِ هَذِهِ الشَّجَرَةِ إِنَّ الْمَلاَئِكَةَ تَتَأَذَّى مِمَّا يَتَأَذَّى مِنْهُ الإِنْسَانُ  

ذِكْرُ الْبَيَانِ بِأَنَّ قَوْلَهُ ﷺ «فِي مَجَالِسِنَا» أَرَادَ بِهِ مَسَاجِدِنَا

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ prohibited the eating of kurrath, but the people did not stop. Then they couldn't find any alternative to eat, so they found its smell. So he (the Prophet) said, "Did I not prohibit you from this foul vegetable or doubtfully edible plant? Those who eat it should not deceive us in our mosques, as the angels are harmed by what harms humans."  

ابن حبّان:١٦٤٦أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ الثَّقَفِيُّ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا الْمُفَضَّلُ بْنُ فَضَالَةَ عَنِ ابْنِ جُرَيْجٍ عَنْ أَبِي الزُّبَيْرِ عَنْ جَابِرٍ قَالَ

نَهَى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ عَنْ أَكْلِ الْكُرَّاثِ فَلَمْ يَنْتَهُوا ثُمَّ لَمْ يَجِدُوا بُدًّا مِنْ أَكْلِهَا فَوَجَدَ رِيحَهَا فَقَالَ «أَلَمْ أَنْهَكُمْ عَنْ هَذِهِ الْبَقْلَةِ الْخَبِيثَةِ أَوِ الْمُنْتِنَةِ ؟ مَنْ أَكَلَهَا فَلَا يَغْشَنَا فِي مَسَاجِدِنَا فَإِنَّ الْمَلَائِكَةَ تَتَأَذَّى مِمَّا يَتَأَذَّى مِنْهُ الْإِنْسَانُ»
