[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said to us, "If one of you has something that needs to be taken care of by writing, then keep it private."  

الكبرى للنسائي:٥٠١٣أَخْبَرَنِي مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ نَصْرٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا أَيُّوبُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي أُوَيْسٍ عَنْ سُلَيْمَانَ بْنِ بِلَالٍ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ أَبِي عَتِيقٍ وَمُوسَى بْنُ عُقْبَةَ عَنِ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ عَنْ نَبْهَانَ مُكَاتَبِ أُمِّ سَلَمَةَ أَنَّ أُمَّ سَلَمَةَ قَالَتْ

إِنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ لَنَا «إِذَا كَانَ عِنْدَ مُكَاتَبِ إِحْدَاكُنَّ مَا يَقْضِي عَنْهُ كِتَابَتَهُ فَاحْتَجِبِي مِنْهُ»

That the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "When one of you (women) has a Mukatab ho has with him what will fulfill (the Kitabah) then observe Hijab from him."  

[Abu 'Eisa said:] This Hadith is Hasan Sahih. And the meaning of this Hadith according to the people of knowledge is that of caution. They say that the Mukatab is not freed, even if he has the amount to pay, until he pays it.

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ إِذَا كَانَ عِنْدَ مُكَاتَبِ إِحْدَاكُنَّ مَا يُؤَدِّي فَلْتَحْتَجِبْ مِنْهُ  

قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى هَذَا حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ صَحِيحٌ وَمَعْنَى هَذَا الْحَدِيثِ عِنْدَ أَهْلِ الْعِلْمِ عَلَى التَّوَرُّعِ وَقَالُوا لاَ يُعْتَقُ الْمُكَاتَبُ وَإِنْ كَانَ عِنْدَهُ مَا يُؤَدِّي حَتَّى يُؤَدِّيَ

[Machine] The messenger of Allah ﷺ made a pact with us that when he is at the desk of one of you, meaning fulfilling what is left of his correspondence, then we should hide from him.
