[Machine] The messenger of Allah ﷺ made a pact with us that when he is at the desk of one of you, meaning fulfilling what is left of his correspondence, then we should hide from him.  

الكبرى للنسائي:٥٠١٤أَخْبَرَنَا عُبَيْدُ اللهِ بْنُ سَعْدِ بْنِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ بْنِ سَعْدٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا عَمِّي قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي عَنِ ابْنِ إِسْحَاقَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ مُسْلِمٍ الزُّهْرِيُّ عَنْ نَبْهَانَ مَوْلَى أُمِّ سَلَمَةَ أَنَّ أُمِّ سَلَمَةَ قَالَتْ

إِنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ عَهِدَ إِلَيْنَا إِذَا كَانَ عِنْدَ مُكَاتَبِ إِحْدَاكُنَّ يَعْنِي وَفَاءٌ بِمَا بَقِيَ مِنْ مُكَاتَبَتِهِ فَاحْتَجِبْنَ مِنْهُ

That the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "When one of you (women) has a Mukatab ho has with him what will fulfill (the Kitabah) then observe Hijab from him."  

[Abu 'Eisa said:] This Hadith is Hasan Sahih. And the meaning of this Hadith according to the people of knowledge is that of caution. They say that the Mukatab is not freed, even if he has the amount to pay, until he pays it.

قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى هَذَا حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ صَحِيحٌ وَمَعْنَى هَذَا الْحَدِيثِ عِنْدَ أَهْلِ الْعِلْمِ عَلَى التَّوَرُّعِ وَقَالُوا لاَ يُعْتَقُ الْمُكَاتَبُ وَإِنْ كَانَ عِنْدَهُ مَا يُؤَدِّي حَتَّى يُؤَدِّيَ

[Machine] Indeed, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ had instructed us that if one of us had any written correspondence, he should complete what remained of his writing, then set it aside and inform me. Ubaidullah ibn Saad narrated this in another context and said, "If there is anything that needs to be decided regarding it, then conceal it from me."
