28.38 [Machine] Anger in preaching and teaching when a scholar sees what he dislikes.

nasai-kubra:5860Yaʿqūb b. Ibrāhīm > Yaḥyá b. Saʿīd > Ismāʿīl > Qays > Abū Masʿūd ʿUqbah b. ʿAmr

A man came and said, "O Messenger of Allah ﷺ! By Allah, I keep away from the morning prayer only because So and so prolongs the prayer when he leads us in it." The narrator said, "I never saw Allah's Apostle more furious in giving advice than he was at that time. He then said, "Some of you make people dislike good deeds (the prayer). So whoever among you leads the people in prayer should shorten it because among them are the weak, the old and the needy." (Using translation from Bukhārī 702)

nasai-kubra:5861ʿUtbah b. ʿAbdullāh > Ibn al-Mubārak > Sufyān > Jaʿfar b. Muḥammad from his father > Jābir

"In his Khutbah the Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to praise Allah as He deserves to be praised, then he would say: 'Whomsoever Allah (SWT) guides, none can lead him astray, and whomsoever Allah sends astray, none can guide. The truest of word is the Book of Allah and best of guidance is the guidance of Muhammad. The worst of things are those that are newly invented; every newly-invented thing is an innovation and every innovation is going astray, and every going astray is in the Fire.' Then he said: 'The Hour and I have been sent like these two.' Whenever he mentioned the Hour, his cheeks would turn red, and he would raise his voice and become angry, as if he were warning of an approaching army and saying: 'An army is coming to attack you in the morning, or in the evening!' (Then he said): 'Whoever leaves behind wealth, it is for his family, and whoever leaves behind a debt or dependents, then these are my responsibility, and I am the most entitled to take care of the believers.'" (Using translation from Nasāʾī 1578)

nasai-kubra:5862ʿAbdah b. ʿAbd al-Raḥīm > Sufyān > Bayān And ʾIsmāʿīl > Qays > Khabbāb

I came to the Prophet ﷺ while he was leaning against his sheet cloak in the shade of the Kaʿba. We were suffering greatly from the pagans in those days. i said (to him). "Will you invoke Allah (to help us)?" He sat down with a red face and said, "(A believer among) those who were before you used to be combed with iron combs so that nothing of his flesh or nerves would remain on his bones; yet that would never make him desert his religion. A saw might be put over the parting of his head which would be split into two parts, yet all that would never make him abandon his religion. Allah will surely complete this religion (i.e. Islam) so that a traveler from Sana to Hadra-maut will not be afraid of anybody except Allah." (The sub-narrator, Baiyan added, "Or the wolf, lest it should harm his sheep.") (Using translation from Bukhārī 3852)
