Umar, do not get back what you gave as charity.  

مسلم:١٦٢١cحَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ أَبِي عُمَرَ وَعَبْدُ بْنُ حُمَيْدٍ وَاللَّفْظُ لِعَبْدٍ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ أَخْبَرَنَا مَعْمَرٌ عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ عَنْ سَالِمٍ عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ

أَنَّ عُمَرَ حَمَلَ عَلَى فَرَسٍ فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ ثُمَّ رَآهَا تُبَاعُ فَأَرَادَ أَنْ يَشْتَرِيَهَا فَسَأَلَ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ لاَ تَعُدْ فِي صَدَقَتِكَ يَا عُمَرُ

Once I gave a horse (for riding) in Allah's Cause. Later I saw it being sold. I asked Messenger of Allah ﷺ (whether I could buy it). He said, "Don't buy it, for you should not get back what you have given in charity."

I gave a horse to be used in Allah's Cause, but later on I saw it being sold. I asked the Prophet ﷺ whether I could buy it. He said, "Don't buy it and don't take back your gift of charity."

he gave someone a horse to ride in the cause of Allah, then he saw it offered for sale and wanted to buy it. The Prophet said to him: "Do not think of buying back what you have given in charity."

'Umar give a house in charity for the sake of Allah, the Mighty and Sublime, and he found it being offered for sale after that. He wanted to buy it, then he went to the Messenger of Allah and asked him about that. The Messenger of Allah said: "Do not take back what you have given in charity."  

النسائي:٢٦١٧أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ الْمُبَارَكِ قَالَ أَنْبَأَنَا حُجَيْنٌ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا اللَّيْثُ عَنْ عُقَيْلٍ عَنِ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ عَنْ سَالِمِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ أَنَّ عَبْدَ اللَّهِ بْنَ عُمَرَ كَانَ يُحَدِّثُ

قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى هَذَا حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ صَحِيحٌ وَالْعَمَلُ عَلَى هَذَا عِنْدَ أَكْثَرِ أَهْلِ الْعِلْمِ
malik:17-54Mālik > Nāfiʿ > ʿAbdullāh b. ʿUmar

Yahya related to me from Malik from Nafi from Abdullah ibn Umar that Umar ibn al-Khattab gave a horse to carry some one in the way of Allah, and then he wished to buy it back. So he asked the Messenger of Allah ﷺ about it, and he said, "Do not buy or take back your sadaqa."  

مالك:١٧-٥٤وَحَدَّثَنِي عَنْ مَالِكٍ عَنْ نَافِعٍ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُمَرَ

أَنَّ عُمَرَ بْنَ الْخَطَّابِ حَمَلَ عَلَى فَرَسٍ فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ فَأَرَادَ أَنْ يَبْتَاعَهُ فَسَأَلَ عَنْ ذَلِكَ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ فَقَالَ لاَ تَبْتَعْهُ وَلاَ تَعُدْ فِي صَدَقَتِكَ  

ahmad:258Wakīʿ > Hishām b. Saʿd > Zayd b. Aslam > Abīhiʿan ʿUmar

He found a horse that he had given to someone (for jihad) for the sake of Allah being offered for sale in the marketplace, and he wanted to buy it. He asked the Prophet ﷺ [about that] and he told him not to do that and said: “Do not take back your charity.ʿ  

أحمد:٢٥٨حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ حَدَّثَنَا هِشَامُ بْنُ سَعْدٍ عَنْ زَيْدِ بْنِ أَسْلَمَ عَنْ أَبِيهِعَنْ عُمَرَ

أَنَّهُ وَجَدَ فَرَسًا كَانَ حَمَلَ عَلَيْهَا فِي سَبِيلِ اللهِ تُبَاعُ فِي السُّوقِ فَأَرَادَ أَنْ يَشْتَرِيَهَا فَسَأَلَ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ فَنَهَاهُ وَقَالَ لَا تَعُودَنَّ فِي صَدَقَتِكَ

ʿLeave it, and it (its reward) will come to you or you will have them all (i.e., the reward of all of them).ʿ On one occasion he said: He told him not to (buy it) and he said: “Do not buy it and do not take back your charity.ʿ

[Machine] Omar ibn Al-Khattab rode a horse in the path of Allah and found it being sold, so he asked the Prophet ﷺ about its price. The Prophet ﷺ said, "Do not consider it as part of your charity."  

أحمد:٤٥٢١حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْأَعْلَى عَنْ مَعْمَرٍ عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ عَنْ سَالِمٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ

أَنَّ عُمَرَ بْنَ الْخَطَّابِ حَمَلَ عَلَى فَرَسٍ فِي سَبِيلِ اللهِ فَوَجَدَهَا تُبَاعُ فَسَأَلَ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ عَنْ شِرَائِهَا؟ فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ لَا تَعُدْ فِي صَدَقَتِكَ

[Machine] Umair ibn al-Khattab rode on a horse in the way of Allah and saw something from its produce being sold. He wanted to buy it, so he asked the Prophet ﷺ. The Prophet ﷺ said, "Do not buy it, nor include it in your charity."  

البيهقي:٧٦٣٢وَأَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو عَبْدِ اللهِ الْحَافِظُ ثنا أَبُو الْحَسَنِ بْنُ مَنْصُورٍ ثنا هَارُونُ بْنُ يُوسُفَ ثنا ابْنُ أَبِي عُمَرَ ثنا سُفْيَانُ عَنْ زَيْدِ بْنِ أَسْلَمَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ قَالَ

حَمَلَ عُمَرُ بْنُ الْخَطَّابِ ؓ عَلَى فَرَسٍ فِي سَبِيلِ اللهِ فَرَأَى شَيْئًا مِنْ نِتَاجِهِ يُبَاعُ فَأَرَادَ شِرَاءَهُ فَسَأَلَ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ فَقَالَ لَا تَشْتَرِهِ وَلَا تَعُدْ فِي صَدَقَتِكَ
