On the authority of his father, who said: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ forbade to break the coins of the Muslims current among them except for some defect.

نَهَى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ أَنْ تُكْسَرَ سِكَّةُ الْمُسْلِمِينَ الْجَائِزَةُ بَيْنَهُمْ إِلاَّ مِنْ بَأْسٍ

نَهَى نَبِيُّ اللهِ ﷺ أَنْ تُكْسَرَ سِكَّةُ الْمُسْلِمِينَ الْجَائِزَةُ بَيْنَهُمْ إِلَّا مِنْ بَأْسٍ

The Ansari did not mention his father Alqamah in his narration, and it was mentioned by Al-Mu'tamir. The Dhahabi remained silent about it in his summarization.

" عَنْ عَلقَمَةَ بْن عَبْد الله الْمزَنِىِّ عَنْ أبيه، أنَّ رَسُولَ الله ﷺ نَهى أَنْ تُكْسَرَ سَكَّةُ الْمُسْلمينَ الْجَائِزَةُ بَيْنَهُمْ إِلَّا مِنْ بَأسٍ أنْ يُكْسَرَ الدِّرْهَمُ فَيُجْعَلَ فِضَّةً، وَيُكْسَرَ الدِّينَارُ فَيُجْعَلَ ذَهبًا".
