ذِكْرُ مَا يُسْتَحَبُّ لِلْمَرْءِ أَنْ لَا يَدْخُلَ بَيْتًا فِيهِ صُورَةٌ، وَإِنْ كَانَ ذَلِكَ الْبَيْتُ مِمَّا يُتَقَرَّبُ بِهِ إِلَى اللَّهِ جَلَّ وَعَلَا

ibnhibban:5861 – Abū Khalīfah > ʿAlī b. al-Madīnī > ʿAbd al-Razzāq > Maʿmar > Ayyūb > ʿIkrimah > Ibn ʿAbbās

[Machine] "The Prophet, Peace Be Upon Him, when he saw the idols in the house, meaning the Kaaba, he did not enter and ordered them to be removed. He also saw Ibrahim and Ismail holding idols in their hands, so he said, 'May Allah curse them! By Allah, they never swore by the idols.'"  

ابن حبّان:٥٨٦١ – أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو خَلِيفَةَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ الْمَدِينِيِّ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنَا مَعْمَرٌ عَنْ أَيُّوبَ عَنْ عِكْرِمَةَ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ

أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ لَمَّا رَأَى الصُّوَرَ فِي الْبَيْتِ يَعْنِي الْكَعْبَةَ لَمْ يَدْخُلْ وَأَمَرَ بِهَا فمُحِيَتْ وَرَأَى إِبْرَاهِيمَ وَإِسْمَاعِيلَ بِأَيْدِيهِمَا الْأَزْلَامُ فَقَالَ «قَاتَلَهُمُ اللَّهُ وَاللَّهِ مَا اسْتَقْسَمَا بِالْأَزْلَامِ قَطُّ»

When the Prophet ﷺ saw pictures in the Kaʿba, he did not enter it till he ordered them to be erased. When he saw (the pictures of Abraham and Ishmael carrying the arrows of divination, he said, "May Allah curse them (i.e. the Quraish)! By Allah, neither Abraham nor Ishmael practiced divination by arrows."
