ذِكْرُ الْخَبَرِ الْمُدْحِضِ قَوْلَ مَنْ زَعَمَ أَنَّ هَذَا الْخَبَرَ تَفَرَّدَ بِهِ سِمَاكُ بْنُ حَرْبٍ، وَأَنَّ رَفْعَهُ غَيْرُ مَحْفُوظٍ فِيمَا زَعَمَ

ibnhibban:3447 – al-Ḥasan b. Sufyān > ʿAbdullāh b. ʿAbd al-Raḥman al-Samarqandī > Marwān b. Muḥammad > Ibn Wahb > Yaḥyá b. ʿAbdullāh b. Sālim > Abū Bakr b. Nāfiʿ from his father > Ibn ʿUmar

The people looked for the moon, so I informed the Messenger of Allah ﷺ that I had sighted it. He fasted and commanded the people to fast. (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 2342)  

ابن حبّان:٣٤٤٧ – أَخْبَرَنَا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ سُفْيَانَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ السَّمَرْقَنْدِيُّ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا مَرْوَانُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ عَنِ ابْنِ وَهْبٍ عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ سَالِمٍ عَنْ أَبِي بَكْرِ بْنِ نَافِعٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ قَالَ

«تَرَاءَى النَّاسُ الْهِلَالَ فَرَأَيْتُهُ فَأَخْبَرْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ فَصَامَ وَأَمَرَ النَّاسَ بِصِيَامِهِ»

[Machine] The people saw the crescent, so I informed the Messenger of Allah ﷺ that I had seen it. "So the Messenger of Allah ﷺ fasted and ordered the people to fast." It is correct according to the condition of Muslim, and they did not dispute it.  

الحاكم:١٥٤١ – حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ صَالِحِ بْنِ هَانِئٍ ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ إِسْمَاعِيلَ بْنِ مِهْرَانَ ثنا هَارُونُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ الْأَيْلِيُّ ثنا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ وَهْبٍ أَخْبَرَنِي يَحْيَى بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ سَالِمٍ عَنْ أَبِي بَكْرِ بْنِ نَافِعٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ قَالَ
