ذِكْرُ الْبَيَانِ بِأَنَّ مُسَارَعَتَهُ ﷺ إِلَى الرَّكْعَتَيْنِ قَبْلَ الْفَجْرِ كَانَ أَكْثَرَ مِنْ مُسَارَعَتِهِ إِلَى الْغَنِيمَةِ الَّتِي يَغْنَمُهَا

[Machine] "I have never seen the Messenger of Allah ﷺ rush towards any voluntary act of worship faster than he did towards the two Rak'ahs before Fajr prayer, nor towards any booty that he could take advantage of."

ابن حبّان:٢٤٥٧ – أَخْبَرَنَا عِمْرَانُ بْنُ مُوسَى السَّخْتِيَانِيُّ حَدَّثَنَا عُثْمَانُ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ حَدَّثَنَا حَفْصُ بْنُ غِيَاثٍ عَنِ ابْنِ جُرَيْجٍ عَنْ عَطَاءٍ عَنْ عُبَيْدِ بْنِ عُمَيْرٍ عَنْ عَائِشَةَ قَالَتْ

«مَا رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ يُسْرِعُ إِلَى شَيْءٍ مِنَ النَّوَافِلِ أَسْرَعَ مِنْهُ إِلَى الرَّكْعَتَيْنِ قَبْلَ الصُّبْحِ وَلَا إِلَى غَنِيمَةٍ يَغْتَنِمُهَا»

I have never seen the Messenger of Allah ﷺ hastening as much in observing supererogatory as two rak'ahs before the (Fard) of the dawn prayer.

مَا رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ فِي شَىْءٍ مِنَ النَّوَافِلِ أَسْرَعَ مِنْهُ إِلَى الرَّكْعَتَيْنِ قَبْلَ الْفَجْرِ

ahmad:24271 – Yaḥyá > Ibn Jurayj > ʿAṭāʾ > ʿUbayd b. ʿUmayr > ʿĀʾishah

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ was more particular about observing the supererogatory rak'ahs before the dawn prayer than about observing any of the other supererogatory prayers. (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 1254)

أحمد:٢٤٢٧١ – حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ جُرَيْجٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي عَطَاءٌ عَنْ عُبَيْدِ بْنِ عُمَيْرٍ عَنْ عَائِشَةَ قَالَتْ

لَمْ يَكُنْ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ عَلَى شَيْءٍ مِنَ النَّوَافِلِ أَشَدَّ مُعَاهَدَةً مِنْهُ عَلَى الرَّكْعَتَيْنِ قَبْلَ الصُّبْحِ

ahmad:25327 – ʿAbd al-Razzāq > Sufyān > Ḥakīm b. Jubayr > Saʿīd b. Jubayr

[Machine] "Aisha, I have never seen the Messenger of Allah ﷺ hasten towards anything faster than he does towards performing two units of prayer before the Fajr prayer, nor towards seeking any spoils of war."

أحمد:٢٥٣٢٧ – حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ أَخْبَرَنَا سُفْيَانُ عَنْ حَكِيمِ بْنِ جُبَيْرٍ عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ جُبَيْرٍ قَالَ قَالَتْ

عَائِشَةُ مَا رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ إِلَى شَيْءٍ أَسْرَعَ مِنْهُ إِلَى رَكْعَتَيْنِ قَبْلَ صَلَاةِ الْغَدَاةِ وَلَا إِلَى غَنِيمَةٍ يَطْلُبُهَا

ahmad:25844 – Isḥāq b. Yūsuf > Sufyān > Ḥakīmib. Jubayr > Saʿīd b. Jubayr > ʿĀʾishah

[Machine] She said, "I have never seen the Messenger of Allah ﷺ hasten to anything more quickly than he hastened to perform two units of voluntary prayer before Fajr, nor to any conquest."
