ذِكْرُ الْخِصَالِ الَّتِي يُسْتَحَبُّ لِلْمَرْءِ فِي التَّعَوُّذِ أَنْ يَقْرِنَهَا إِلَى مَا ذَكَرْنَا قَبْلُ

[Machine] The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ never prayed four or two units of prayer without me hearing him say, "O Allah, I seek refuge in You from the punishment of the Hellfire, from the punishment of the grave, from the trials of life and death, and from the evil of living and dying."  

ابن حبّان:١٠٠٢ – أَخْبَرَنَا الْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ أَبِي مَعْشَرٍ أَبُو عَرُوبَةَ بِحَرَّانَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ وَهْبِ بْنِ أَبِي كَرِيمَةَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ الرَّحِيمِ عَنْ زَيْدِ بْنِ أَبِي * إِسْحَاقَ عَنْ مُجَاهِدٍ أَبِي الْحَجَّاجِ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ قَالَ

مَا صَلَّى نَبِيُّ اللَّهِ ﷺ أَرْبَعًا أَوِ اثْنَتَيْنِ إِلَّا سَمِعْتُهُ يَدْعُو «اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ عَذَابِ النَّارِ وَمِنْ عَذَابِ الْقَبْرِ وَمِنْ فِتْنَةِ الصَّدْرِ وَسُوءِ الْمَحْيَا وَالْمَمَاتِ»

Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to invoke (Allah): "Allahumma ini aʿudhu bika min 'adhabi-l-Qabr, wa min 'adhabi-nnar, wa min fitnati-l-mahya wa-lmamat, wa min fitnati-l-masih ad-dajjal. (O Allah! I seek refuge with you from the punishment in the grave and from the punishment in the Hell fire and from the afflictions of life and death, and the afflictions of Al-Masih Ad-Dajjal."  

البخاري:١٣٧٧ – حَدَّثَنَا مُسْلِمُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ حَدَّثَنَا هِشَامٌ حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ؓ قَالَ

كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ يَدْعُو اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ عَذَابِ الْقَبْرِ وَمِنْ عَذَابِ النَّارِ وَمِنْ فِتْنَةِ الْمَحْيَا وَالْمَمَاتِ وَمِنْ فِتْنَةِ الْمَسِيحِ الدَّجَّالِ

The Apostle of Allah ﷺ said: O Allah! I seek refuge with Thee from the torment of the grave, and the torment of Hell, and the trial of life and death and the mischief of Masih al-Dajjal.  

مسلم:٥٨٨c – حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْمُثَنَّى حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ أَبِي عَدِيٍّ عَنْ هِشَامٍ عَنْ يَحْيَى عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ يَقُولُ قَالَ

نَبِيُّ اللَّهِ ﷺ اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ عَذَابِ الْقَبْرِ وَعَذَابِ النَّارِ وَفِتْنَةِ الْمَحْيَا وَالْمَمَاتِ وَشَرِّ الْمَسِيحِ الدَّجَّالِ

The Messenger of Allah [SAW] said: "Seek refuge with Allah from the torment of the Fire and the torment of the grave, from the trials of life and death, and from the evil of Al-Masihid-Dajjal." (Using translation from Nasāʾī 5518)   

أحمد:٩٤٤٧ – حَدَّثَنَا حَسَنٌ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا شَيْبَانُ عَنْ يَحْيَى حَدَّثَنِي أَبُو سَلَمَةَ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ قَالَ

كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ فِي دُبُرِ كُلِّ صَلَاتِهِ «اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ عَذَابِ الْقَبْرِ وَمِنْ عَذَابِ النَّارِ وَمِنْ فِتْنَةِ الْمَحْيَا وَالْمَمَاتِ وَمِنْ فِتْنَةِ الْمَسِيحِ الدَّجَّالِ»  

هَذَا حَدِيثٌ صَحِيحٌ عَلَى شَرْطِ الشَّيْخَيْنِ وَلَمْ يُخَرِّجَاهُ على شرط البخاري ومسلم

ذِكْرُ الْبَيَانِ بِأَنَّ مِنْ شَرِّ الْمَحْيَا الَّذِي يَجِبُ عَلَى الْمَرْءِ التَّعَوُّذُ مِنْهُ الْفِتْنَةُ، وَكَذَلِكَ الْمَمَاتُ
