[Machine] "He said to his brother Malik ibn Haidah, 'Come with us to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ , for he knows you but does not know me. He has imprisoned some people from my neighbors, so we went to him. Malik ibn Haidah said, 'O Messenger of Allah, I have embraced Islam and my neighbors have embraced Islam. Leave them alone.' But he did not respond. Then he repeated his request, but he did not respond again. So he got angry and said, 'If you do that, they claim that you call to one thing and do something else.' So I scolded and reprimanded him. He asked, 'What did he say?' They said, 'He said such and such.' He then said, 'If I do that, then it is upon me and not upon them. Leave his neighbors alone.' Al-Dhahabi did not comment on this in his summary."

[Machine] "O Muawiyah, indeed Muhammad has taken my neighbors, so go to him; for he has recognized you and spoken to you." Muawiyah said, "So I went with him, and he said, 'Leave my neighbors for me; for they have embraced Islam.' So he turned away from them and stood defiantly, and said, 'By Allah, if you do so? It is perceived by people that you command the matter and obey others, and I will reward him while he is speaking.' The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, 'What does he say?' They said, 'By Allah, if you do that, it is perceived by people that you command the matter and obey others.' He said, 'So he said it or someone else said it?' They said, 'By Allah, if you do that and that is nothing but on me and there is nothing on them from that.' They sent his neighbors to him."

[Machine] He said to his brother Malik bin Haytha, "Come with us to the Prophet ﷺ , for he knows you but does not know me. Some people from the Banu Bahdam have imprisoned my neighbors, so we went to him. Malik bin Haytha said, 'O Messenger of Allah, I have embraced Islam, and my neighbors have embraced Islam as well. Leave them.' But the Prophet did not respond to him. He repeated his request, but the Prophet did not respond. He repeated it a third time, but the Prophet did not respond. So, he got up with anger and said, 'If you do that, then they claim that you invite to something and do the opposite.' I scolded him and prevented him. The Prophet asked, 'What did he say?' They said, 'He said this and that.' The Prophet said, 'If you do that, then what is upon them from him, let him leave his neighbors.'"
