[Machine] "I went to Basra and entered the mosque, where I saw an old man leaning on a staff, talking. He said, 'The best of people are my generation, then those who follow them, then those who follow them. Then there will be people who will give testimony before they are asked.' So I asked, 'Who is this old man?' They replied, 'Imran ibn Husein.'"  

الحاكم:٥٩٨٨ – حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عَبْدِ اللَّهِ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَعْقُوبَ الْحَافِظُ ثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْوَهَّابِ ثَنَا يَعْلَى بْنُ عُبَيْدٍ ثَنَا الْأَعْمَشُ عَنْ هِلَالِ بْنِ يَسَافٍ قَالَ

انْطَلَقْتُ إِلَى الْبَصْرَةِ فَدَخَلْتُ الْمَسْجِدَ فَإِذَا شَيْخٌ مُسْتَنِدٌ إِلَى أُسْطُوَانَةٍ يُحَدِّثُ يَقُولُ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «خَيْرُ النَّاسِ قَرْنِي ثُمَّ الَّذِينَ يَلُونَهُمْ ثُمَّ الَّذِينَ يَلُونَهُمْ ثُمَّ يَأْتِي أَقْوَامٌ يُعْطُونَ الشَّهَادَةَ قَبْلَ أَنْ يُسْأَلُوهَا» فَقُلْتُ مَنْ هَذَا الشَّيْخُ؟ قَالُوا عِمْرَانُ بْنُ حُصَيْنٍ  

«هَذَا حَدِيثٌ عَالٍ صَحِيحٌ عَلَى شَرْطِ الشَّيْخَيْنِ وَلَمْ يُخَرِّجَاهُ» على شرط البخاري ومسلم

I heard him saying, "The best people are my generation, then those who follow them, then those who follow them, then those who follow them. Then, after them, there will come a people who will become fat and love fats. They will testify before being asked to do so." I asked, "Who is this?" They replied, "Imran ibn al-Husayn."  

الطبراني:١٥٧٣٥ – حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ زُهَيْرٍ ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عُثْمَانَ بْنِ كَرَامَةَ ثنا عُبَيْدُ اللهِ بْنُ مُوسَى عَنْ شَيْبَانَ عَنِ الْأَعْمَشِ عَنْ هِلَالِ بْنِ يَسَافٍ قَالَ
