[Machine] A man mentioned Abu Al-Abbas, so Al-Abbas slapped him. They gathered and said, "By Allah, we will also slap Al-Abbas as he slapped him." The Messenger of Allah ﷺ was informed of this, so he delivered a sermon and said, "Who is the most honorable person in the sight of Allah?" They replied, "You, O Messenger of Allah." He said, "Indeed, Al-Abbas is from me, and I am from him. Do not insult our dead, for it hurts our living."  

الحاكم:٥٤٢١أَخْبَرَنِي أَبُو الْعَبَّاسِ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ الْمَحْبُوبِيُّ بِمَرْوَ قَالَ ثَنَا سَعِيدُ بْنُ مَسْعُودٍ ثَنَا عُبَيْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مُوسَى أَنَا إِسْرَائِيلُ عَنْ عَبْدِ الْأَعْلَى عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ جُبَيْرٍ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ

أَنَّ رَجُلًا ذَكَرَ أَبَا الْعَبَّاسِ فَنَالَ مِنْهُ فَلَطَمَهُ الْعَبَّاسُ فَاجْتَمَعُوا فَقَالُوا وَاللَّهِ لَنَلْطِمَنَّ الْعَبَّاسَ كَمَا لَطَمَهُ فَبَلَغَ ذَلِكَ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ فَخَطَبَ فَقَالَ «مَنْ أَكْرَمُ النَّاسِ عَلَى اللَّهِ؟» قَالُوا أَنْتَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ قَالَ «فَإِنَّ الْعَبَّاسَ مِنِّي وَأَنَا مِنْهُ لَا تَسُبُّوا أَمْوَاتَنَا فَتُؤْذُوا بِهِ الْأَحْيَاءَ»  

هَذَا حَدِيثٌ صَحِيحُ الْإِسْنَادِ وَلَمْ يُخَرِّجَاهُ صحيح

a man slandered one of his forefathers from the time of the Jahiliyyah, and Al-'Abbas slapped him. His people came and said: "Let him slap him as he slapped him," and they prepared for quarrel. News of that reached the Prophet, and he ascended the Minbar and said: "O People, which of the people of the Earth do you know to be the most noble before Allah?" They said: "You." He said: "Al-Abbas belongs to me and I to him. Do not defame our dead or offend our living." Those people came and said: "O Messenger of Allah, we seek refuge with Allah from your anger; pray to give us."

[Machine] A man fell into a well that belonged to Al-Abbas during the pre-Islamic era. Al-Abbas slapped him, so the man went to his people and they said, "By Allah, we will slap him back!" They took up their weapons, and this news reached the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ. He ascended the pulpit and said, "O people, O people of the earth, do you know who is the most noble in the sight of Allah?" They replied, "You are, O Messenger of Allah." He said, "Indeed, Al-Abbas is from me and I am from him. Do not insult our deceased, for it hurts our living." The people then came and said, "O Messenger of Allah, we seek refuge in Allah from your anger. Please seek forgiveness for us."
