لِي رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ يَا خَالِدُ إِنَّهَا سَتَكُونُ بَعْدِي أَحْدَاثٌ وَفِتَنٌ وَاخْتِلَافٌ فَإِنْ اسْتَطَعْتَ أَنْ تَكُونَ عَبْدَ اللهِ الْمَقْتُولَ لَا الْقَاتِلَ فَافْعَلْ

[Machine] "To me, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, 'O Khalid, there will be events, trials, and disputes after me. If you can be a servant of Allah who is slain and not the slayer, then do so.' This statement was exclusively narrated by Ali ibn Zaid al-Qurashi from Abu Uthman al-Nahdi, and he did not refer to Ali in his summarization." (The reference to Al-Dhahabi's silence about it)

لِي رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «يَا خَالِدُ إِنَّهُ سَيَكُونُ بَعْدِي أَحْدَاثٌ وَفِتَنٌ وَاخْتِلَافٌ فَإِنِ اسْتَطَعْتَ أَنْ تَكُونَ عَبْدَ اللَّهِ الْمَقْتُولَ لَا الْقَاتِلَ فَافْعَلْ» تَفَرَّدَ بِهِ عَلِيُّ بْنُ زَيْدٍ الْقُرَشِيُّ عَنْ أَبِي عُثْمَانَ النَّهْدِيِّ وَلَمْ يَحْتَجَّا بِعَلِيٍّ سكت عنه الذهبي في التلخيص

[Machine] "Indeed, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, 'O Khalid, it will be a time of trials, events, disagreements, and divisions. So if you can be the one killed and not the killer, then do so.'"

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ «يَا خَالِدُ إِنَّهَا سَتَكُونُ فِتْنَةٌ وأَحْدَاثٌ وَاخْتِلَافٌ وَفُرْقَةٌ فَإِذَا كَانَ ذَلِكَ فَإِنِ اسْتَطَعْتَ أَنْ تَكُونَ الْمَقْتُولَ لَا الْقَاتِلَ فَافْعَلْ»

"ستَكُونُ أَحْدَاثٌ، وَفِتْنَةٌ، وَفُرْقة، وَاخْتِلَافٌ، فَإِن اسْتَطَعْت أَنْ تَكُونَ الْمَقْتُولَ لَا الْقَاتِلَ فَافْعلْ".

" يَا خَالِدُ: إِنَّهَا سَتَكُونُ بَعْدى أَحْدَاثٌ وَفِتَن، وَفُرْقَةٌ وَاخْتِلاَفٌ، فَإِذَا كَانَ ذَلِكَ، فَإِنِ اسْتَطَعْتَ أَنْ تَكُونَ عَبْدَ الله الْمَقْتُوَلَ لاَ الْقَاتِلَ، فَافْعَل ".
