[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Until at the time of nightfall, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, 'So I looked at him and behold, his shirt buttons were undone, his hair was disheveled and there were marks around his eyes.' Then he said, 'It was like this or higher than this, or close to this, or as the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said.'"  

الحاكم:٣٧٨ – حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مُحَمَّدٍ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ مُوسَى الْعَدْلُ ثنا الْفَضْلُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الشَّعْرَانِيُّ ثنا مُسَدَّدٌ ثنا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ ثنا ابْنُ عَوْنٍ أَخْبَرَنِي مُسْلِمُ بْنُ أَبِي عِمْرَانَ عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ التَّيْمِيِّ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ مَيْمُونٍ قَالَ مَا أَخْطَأَنِي وَقَالَ ابْنُ عَوْنٍ قَلَّ مَا أَخْطَأَنِي عَشِيَّةَ خَمِيسٍ إِلَّا أَتَيْتُ فِيهَا ابْنَ مَسْعُودٍ فَمَا سَمِعْتُهُ لِشَيْءٍ يَقُولُ

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ حَتَّى إِذَا كَانَ ذَاتَ عَشِيَّةٍ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «فَنَظَرْتُ إِلَيْهِ فَإِذَا هُوَ مَحْلُولٌ أَزْرَارُ قَمِيصِهِ مُنْتَفِخٌ أَوْدَاجُهُ مُغْرَوْرِقَةٌ عَيْنَاهُ» ثُمَّ قَالَ هَكَذَا أَوْ فَوْقَ ذَا أَوْ قَرِيبٌ مِنْ ذَا أَوْ كَمَا قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ

"I used to visit Ibn Mas'ud every Thursday afternoon but he never uttered the words: 'The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said.' Then one evening, he said: 'The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said,' then he let his head hang down." He said: "I looked at him and saw his shirt was unfastened; his eyes were filled with tears, and his veins were bulging out (with fear). He said:' Or more than that, or less than that, or close to that or something similar.'"  

ابن ماجة:٢٣ – حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ حَدَّثَنَا مُعَاذُ بْنُ مُعَاذٍ عَنِ ابْنِ عَوْنٍ حَدَّثَنَا مُسْلِمٌ الْبَطِينُ عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ التَّيْمِيِّ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ مَيْمُونٍ قَالَ مَا أَخْطَأَنِي ابْنُ مَسْعُودٍ عَشِيَّةَ خَمِيسٍ إِلاَّ أَتَيْتُهُ فِيهِ قَالَ فَمَا سَمِعْتُهُ يَقُولُ لِشَىْءٍ قَطُّ
