from Umm Salamah that she said: "The men fight and the women do not fight, and we only get half the inheritance.' So Allah, Blessed and Most High, revealed: 'And wish not for things in which Allah has made some of you excell over others... (4:32)' Mujahid said: "And the following was revealed about that: 'Verily the Muslim men and the Muslim women... (33:35). And Umm Salamah was the first camel-borne woman to arrive in Al-Madinah as an emigrant.  

أَنَّهَا قَالَتْ يَغْزُو الرِّجَالُ وَلاَ يَغْزُو النِّسَاءُ وَإِنَّمَا لَنَا نِصْفُ الْمِيرَاثِ فَأَنْزَلَ اللَّهُ (وَلاَ تَتَمَنَّوْا مَا فَضَّلَ اللَّهُ بِهِ بَعْضَكُمْ عَلَى بَعْضٍ ) قَالَ مُجَاهِدٌ فَأُنْزِلَ فِيهَا ( إِنَّ الْمُسْلِمِينَ وَالْمُسْلِمَاتِ ) وَكَانَتْ أُمُّ سَلَمَةَ أَوَّلَ ظَعِينَةٍ قَدِمَتِ الْمَدِينَةَ مُهَاجِرَةً  

[Machine] Um Salama: O Messenger of Allah, men go out to battle but we do not, and we only receive half of the inheritance. So Allah revealed: "And do not wish for that by which Allah has made some of you exceed others." [Quran 4:32]  

أُمُّ سَلَمَةَ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ يَغْزُو الرِّجَالُ وَلَا نَغْزُو وَلَنَا نِصْفُ الْمِيرَاثِ؟ فَأَنْزَلَ اللهُ {وَلَا تَتَمَنَّوْا مَا فَضَّلَ اللهُ بِهِ بَعْضَكُمْ عَلَى بَعْضٍ} [النساء 32]  

[Machine] Umm Salamah said, "O Messenger of Allah, we do not cut off inheritance and we do not wage war, so we become martyrs." So Allah revealed, "{And do not wish for that by which Allah has made some of you exceed others.}" until the end of the verse. Then He revealed, "{Indeed, I will not allow to be lost the work of any worker among you, whether male or female.}"  

أُمُّ سَلَمَةَ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ لَا نُقْطَعُ الْمِيرَاثَ وَلَا نُقَاتِلُ فَنُسْتَشْهَدُ فَأَنْزَلَ اللهُ {وَلَا تَتَمَنَّوْا مَا فَضَّلَ اللهُ بِهِ بَعْضَكُمْ عَلَى بَعْضٍ} إِلَى آخِرِ الْآيَةِ ثُمَّ نَزَلَتْ {أَنِّي لَا أُضِيعُ عَمَلَ عَامِلٍ مِنْكُمْ مِنْ ذَكَرٍ أَوْ أُنْثَى}  

[Machine] O Messenger of Allah, will men go out to fight while we stay back and bear witness, even though we are entitled to only half of the inheritance? So Allah, the Almighty, revealed: "And do not wish for that by which Allah has made some of you exceed others." [Surah An-Nisa, verse 32]  

يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ أَيَغْزُو الرِّجَالُ وَلَا نَغْزُو فَنُسْتَشْهَدَ وَإِنَّمَا لَنَا نِصْفُ الْمِيرَاثِ؟ فَأَنْزَلَ اللهُ تَعَالَى {وَلَا تَتَمَنَّوْا مَا فَضَّلَ اللهُ بِهِ بَعْضَكُمْ عَلَى بَعْضٍ} [سورة النساء آية رقم 32]
