During the lifetime of Messenger of Allah ﷺ the moon was split into two parts; one part remained over the mountain, and the other part went beyond the mountain. On that, Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Witness this miracle."  

البخاري:٤٨٦٤ – حَدَّثَنَا مُسَدَّدٌ حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى عَنْ شُعْبَةَ وَسُفْيَانَ عَنِ الأَعْمَشِ عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ عَنْ أَبِي مَعْمَرٍ عَنِ ابْنِ مَسْعُودٍ قَالَ

انْشَقَّ الْقَمَرُ عَلَى عَهْدِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ فِرْقَتَيْنِ فِرْقَةً فَوْقَ الْجَبَلِ وَفِرْقَةً دُونَهُ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ اشْهَدُوا

The moon was cleft asunder while we were in the company of the Prophet, and it became two parts. The Prophet ﷺ said, Witness, witness (this miracle).

The moon was cleft asunder during the lifetime of the Prophet.

انْشَقَّ الْقَمَرُ فِي زَمَانِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ  

bukhari:4867 – ʿAbdullāh b. Muḥammad > Yūnus b. Muḥammad > Shaybān > Qatādah > Anas

The people of Mecca asked the Prophet ﷺ to show them a sign (miracle). So he showed them (the miracle) of the cleaving of the moon.  

البخاري:٤٨٦٧ – حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ حَدَّثَنَا يُونُسُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ حَدَّثَنَا شَيْبَانُ عَنْ قَتَادَةَ عَنْ أَنَسٍ ؓ قَالَ

سَأَلَ أَهْلُ مَكَّةَ أَنْ يُرِيَهُمْ آيَةً فَأَرَاهُمُ انْشِقَاقَ الْقَمَرِ  

muslim:2800a – ʿAmr al-Nāqid And Zuhayr b. Ḥarb > Sufyān b. ʿUyaynah > Ibn Abū Najīḥ > Mujāhid > Abū Maʿmar > ʿAbdullāh

انْشَقَّ الْقَمَرُ عَلَى عَهْدِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ بِشِقَّتَيْنِ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ اشْهَدُوا

[Machine] The moon split during the time of the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ into two halves; one half was above the mountain, and the other half was covered by the mountain. The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ said, "O Allah, bear witness."  

الكبرى للنسائي:١١٤٨٨ – أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْأَعْلَى عَنْ خَالِدٍ وَهُوَ ابْنُ الْحَارِثِ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ عَنْ سُلَيْمَانَ عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ عَنْ أَبِي مَعْمَرٍ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ قَالَ

انْشَقَّ الْقَمَرُ عَلَى عَهْدِ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ شِقَّتَيْنِ شِقَّةٌ فَوْقَ الْجَبَلِ وَشِقَّةٌ سَتَرَهَا الْجَبَلُ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «اللهُمَّ اشْهَدْ»
