[AI] that the two of them gave him glad tidings that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Ask, and you will be given." Abu Bakr said: This hadith has been narrated by Zaidah from Asim, from Zirr, from Abdullah, and he did not say, "from Abu Bakr and Umar," and we do not know anyone who narrated it this way except Yahya ibn Adam from Abu Bakr.

البزّار:٦حَدَّثَنَا شُعَيْبُ بْنُ أَيُّوبَ قَالَ نا يَحْيَى بْنُ آدَمَ قَالَ نا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ عَيَّاشٍ عَنْ عَاصِمٍ عَنْ زِرٍّ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ عَنْ أَبِي بَكْرٍ وَعُمَرَ ؓ

أَنَّهُمَا بَشَّرَاهُ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ قَالَ: «سَلْ تُعْطَهْ». قَالَ أَبُو بَكْرٍ: وَهَذَا الْحَدِيثُ قَدْ رَوَاهُ زَائِدَةُ عَنْ عَاصِمٍ عَنْ زِرٍّ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ، وَلَمْ يَقُلْ عَنْ أَبِي بَكْرٍ وَعُمَرَ، وَلَا نَعْلَمُ أَحَدًا رَوَاهُ هَكَذَا إِلَّا يَحْيَى بْنُ آدَمَ عَنْ أَبِي بَكْرٍ
