[Machine] With my lord, I entered upon Umm Salamah and said, "I want to perform Umrah before Hajj." She replied, "If you wish, perform Umrah before Hajj, and if you wish, after Hajj." So I said, "They say that whoever performs a Surrah (a form of minor pilgrimage) should not perform Umrah before Hajj." So I asked the Mothers of the believers and they said what she had said. I went back to her and informed her, so she said, "Yes, and may Allah heal you. I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say, 'O family of Muhammad, perform Umrah within Hajj.'"  

البيهقي:٨٧٨٦ – أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو عَبْدِ اللهِ الْحَافِظُ ثنا أَبُو الْعَبَّاسِ هُوَ الْأَصَمُّ ثنا الرَّبِيعُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ ثنا أَسَدُ بْنُ مُوسَى ثنا اللَّيْثُ بْنُ سَعْدٍ ثنا يَزِيدُ بْنُ أَبِي حَبِيبٍ عَنْ أَبِي عِمْرَانَ قَالَ حَجَجْتُ

مَعَ مَوْلَايَ فَدَخَلْتُ عَلَى أُمِّ سَلَمَةَ ؓ فَقُلْتُ أَعْتَمِرُ قَبْلَ أَنْ أَحُجَّ فَقَالَتْ إِنْ شِئْتَ فَاعْتَمِرْ قَبْلَ أَنْ تَحُجَّ وَإِنْ شِئْتَ فَبَعْدَ أَنْ تَحُجَّ فَقُلْتُ إِنَّهُمْ يَقُولُونَ مَنْ كَانَ صَرُورَةً فَلَا يَصِحُّ أَنْ يَعْتَمِرَ قَبْلَ أَنْ يَحُجَّ فَسَأَلْتُ أُمَّهَاتِ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ فَقُلْنَ مِثْلَ مَا قَالَتْ فَرَجَعْتُ إِلَيْهَا فَأَخْبَرْتُهَا فَقَالَتْ نَعَمْ وَأَشْفَيْكَ سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ أَهِلُّوا يَا آلَ مُحَمَّدٍ بِعُمْرَةٍ فِي حَجٍّ

[Machine] He said, "I performed the Hajj with my companions, then I visited Umm Salamah, the wife of the Prophet ﷺ . I said to her, 'Should I perform the Umrah before performing Hajj?' She said, 'If you wish, perform the Umrah before Hajj, and if you wish, perform it after Hajj.' I said, 'They say that whoever performs the Umrah should not perform it before performing Hajj.' She said, 'I asked the mothers of the believers and they said the same as what I said.' So I returned to her and informed her of what they said. She said, 'Yes, and I will heal you. I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say, 'O family of Muhammad, perform the Umrah in conjunction with Hajj.'"  

أحمد:٢٦٥٤٨ – حَدَّثَنَا حَجَّاجٌ حَدَّثَنَا لَيْثُ بْنُ سَعْدٍ الْمِصْرِيُّ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي يَزِيدُ بْنُ أَبِي حَبِيبٍ عَنْ أَبِي عِمْرَانَ أَسْلَمَ

أَنَّهُ قَالَ حَجَجْتُ مَعَ مَوَالِيَّ فَدَخَلْتُ عَلَى أُمِّ سَلَمَةَ زَوْجِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ فَقُلْتُ أَعْتَمِرُ قَبْلَ أَنْ أَحُجَّ؟ قَالَتْ إِنْ شِئْتَ فَاعْتَمِرْ قَبْلَ أَنْ تَحُجَّ وَإِنْ شِئْتَ فَبَعْدَ أَنْ تَحُجَّ قَالَ فَقُلْتُ إِنَّهُمْ يَقُولُونَمَنْ كَانَ صَرُورَةً فَلَا يَصْلُحُ أَنْ يَعْتَمِرَ قَبْلَ أَنْ يَحُجَّ؟ قَالَ فَسَأَلْتُ أُمَّهَاتِ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ فَقُلْنَ مِثْلَ مَا قَالَتْ فَرَجَعْتُ إِلَيْهَا فَأَخْبَرْتُهَا بِقَوْلِهِنَّ قَالَ فَقَالَتْ نَعَمْ وَأَشْفِيكَ سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ أَهِلُّوا يَا آلَ مُحَمَّدٍ بِعُمْرَةٍ فِي حَجٍّ

ذِكْرُ الْخَبَرِ الدَّالِّ عَلَى اسْتِحْبَابِ إِهْلَالِ الْمَرْءِ بِالتَّمَتُّعِ بِالْعُمْرَةِ إِلَى الْحَجِّ، وَالْإِيثَارِ عَلَى الْقِرَانِ وَالْإِفْرَادِ مَعًا

ibnhibban:3922 – Muḥammad b. Isḥāq b. Khuzaymah > Muḥammad b. al-Muthanná > ʿAbdullāh b. Yazīd > Ḥaywah > Yazīd b. Abū Ḥabīb > Abū ʿImrān

that he performed Ḥajj along with his servants and said: I went to Umm Salamah and said: O Mother of the Believers, I have never performed Hajj before. Should I start with the Ḥajj or do ʿUmrah? She replied: If you wish, perform ʿUmrah first before Hajj, and if you wish, perform ʿUmrah after Hajj. So I went to Ṣafiyyah and she told me the same thing. I then returned to Umm Salamah and informed her about what Ṣafiyyah's said. Umm Salamah said: I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say, "O family of Muhammad, whoever among you performs Ḥajj then let them commence their Ḥajj with ʿUmrah ."  

ابن حبّان:٣٩٢٢ – أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ بْنِ خُزَيْمَةَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْمُثَنَّى قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ يَزِيدَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا حَيْوَةُ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ يَزِيدَ بْنَ أَبِي حَبِيبٍ يَقُولُ حَدَّثَنِي أَبُو عِمْرَانَ

أَنَّهُ حَجَّ مَعَ مَوَالِيهِ قَالَ فَأَتَيْتُ أُمَّ سَلَمَةَ فَقُلْتُ: يَا أُمَّ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ إِنِّي لَمْ أَحُجَّ قَطُّ، فَبِأَيِّهِمَا أَبْدَأُ بِالْحَجِّ أَمْ بِالْعُمْرَةِ؟ فَقَالَتْ: إِنْ شِئْتَ فَاعْتَمِرْ قَبْلَ أَنْ تَحُجَّ، وَإِنْ شِئْتَ بَعْدَ أَنْ تَحُجَّ۔ فَذَهَبْتُ إِلَى صَفِيَّةَ فَقَالَتْ لِي مِثْلَ ذَلِكَ۔ فَرَجَعْتُ إِلَى أُمِّ سَلَمَةَ فَأَخْبَرْتُهَا بِقَوْلِ صَفِيَّةَ فَقَالَتْ أُمُّ سَلَمَةَ: سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ «يَا آلَ مُحَمَّدٍ مَنْ حَجِّ مِنْكُمْ فَلْيُهِلَّ بِعُمْرَةٍ فِي حَجٍّ۔»
