[Machine] The Prophet ﷺ used to begin by washing his hands after exiting a state of major ritual impurity. Then, he would take water with his right hand and pour it over his left hand, washing his private parts until they were clean. Then, he would rinse his mouth and nostrils three times, wash his face three times, and his arms three times. After that, he would pour water over his head and body. When he finished, he would wash his feet.  

البيهقي:٨٢٢وَأَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ فُورَكٍ أنا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ ثنا يُونُسُ بْنُ حَبِيبٍ ثنا أَبُو دَاوُدُ ثنا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ عَنْ عَطَاءِ بْنِ السَّائِبِ عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ عَنْ عَائِشَةَ قَالَتْ

كَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ إِذَا اغْتَسَلَ مِنَ الْجَنَابَةِ بَدَأَ فَغَسَلَ يَدَيْهِ ثُمَّ أَخَذَ بِيَمِينِهِ فَصَبَّ عَلَى شِمَالِهِ فَغَسَلَ فَرْجَهُ حَتَّى يُنْقِيَهُ ثُمَّ مَضْمَضَ ثَلَاثًا وَاسْتَنْشَقَ ثَلَاثًا وَغَسَلَ وَجْهَهُ ثَلَاثًا وَذِرَاعَيْهِ ثَلَاثًا ثَلَاثًا ثُمَّ صَبَّ عَلَى رَأْسِهِ وَجَسَدِهِ الْمَاءَ فَإِذَا فَرَغَ غَسَلَ قَدَمَيْهِ

When Messenger of Allah ﷺ bathed because of sexual intercourse, he first washed his hands: he then poured water with his right hand on his left hand and washed his private parts. He then performed ablution as is done for prayer'. He then took some water and put his fingers and moved them through the roots of his hair. And when he found that these had been properly mois- tened, then poured three handfuls on his head and then poured water over his body and subsequently washed his feet.  

مسلم:٣١٦aحَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ يَحْيَى التَّمِيمِيُّ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مُعَاوِيَةَ عَنْ هِشَامِ بْنِ عُرْوَةَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ عَائِشَةَ قَالَتْ

"I put out some water for the Prophet to take a bath, and he bathe to cleanse himself from impurity following sexual activity. He tilted the vessel with his left hand, pouring water into his right, and washed his hands three times. Then he pourd water over his private parts, then he rubbed his hands on the ground. Then he rinsed his mouth and nose, and washed his face three times, and his forearms three times. Then he poured water over the rest of his body, then he moved aside and washed his feet."  

ابن ماجة:٥٧٣حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ وَعَلِيُّ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ قَالاَ حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ عَنِ الأَعْمَشِ عَنْ سَالِمِ بْنِ أَبِي الْجَعْدِ عَنْ كُرَيْبٍ مَوْلَى ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ عَبَّاسٍ عَنْ خَالَتِهِ مَيْمُونَةَ قَالَتْ

وَضَعْتُ لِلنَّبِيِّ ﷺ غُسْلاً فَاغْتَسَلَ مِنَ الْجَنَابَةِ فَأَكْفَأَ الإِنَاءَ بِشِمَالِهِ عَلَى يَمِينِهِ فَغَسَلَ كَفَّيْهِ ثَلاَثًا ثُمَّ أَفَاضَ عَلَى فَرْجِهِ ثُمَّ دَلَكَ يَدَهُ فِي الأَرْضِ ثُمَّ مَضْمَضَ وَاسْتَنْشَقَ وَغَسَلَ وَجْهَهُ ثَلاَثًا وَذِرَاعَيْهِ ثَلاَثًا ثُمَّ أَفَاضَ الْمَاءَ عَلَى سَائِرِ جَسَدِهِ ثُمَّ تَنَحَّى فَغَسَلَ رِجْلَيْهِ

[Machine] When the Messenger of Allah ﷺ wanted to perform ghusl (ritual purification) from major impurity, he would wash his hands three times, then take water with his right hand to pour it on his left hand and wash his private parts until he cleanses them. Then he would wash his hands again properly, then rinse his mouth three times and sniff water into his nose three times, then he would wash his face three times and his arms three times. Then he would pour water on his head three times, and then he would perform ghusl. When he finished, he would wash his feet.  

أحمد:٢٤٦٤٨حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادٌ يَعْنِي ابْنَ سَلَمَةَ عَنْ عَطَاءِ بْنِ السَّائِبِ عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ أَنَّ عَائِشَةَ قَالَتْ

"I asked 'Aishah about how the Messenger of Allah ﷺ performed Ghusl from Janabah. She said: 'The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to pour water onto his hands three times, then he would wash his private part, then he would wash his hands, then rinse his mouth and nose, then pour water onto his head three times, then pour water over the rest of his body.'" أحمد:٢٥٤٠٩حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ عَنْ عَطَاءِ بْنِ السَّائِبِ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ أَبَا سَلَمَةَ قَالَ دَخَلْتُ عَلَى عَائِشَةَ فَسَأَلْتُهَا

عَنْ غُسْلِ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ مِنَ الْجَنَابَةِ؟ قَالَتْ كَانَ يُؤْتَى بِإِنَائِهِ فَيَغْسِلُ يَدَيْهِ ثَلَاثًا ثُمَّ يَصُبُّ مِنَ الْإِنَاءِ عَلَى فَرْجِهِ فَيَغْسِلُهُ ثُمَّ يُفْرِغُ بِيَدِهِ الْيُمْنَى عَلَى الْيُسْرَى فَيَغْسِلُهَا ثُمَّ يُمَضْمِضُ وَيَسْتَنْشِقُ ثُمَّ يُفْرِغُ عَلَى رَأْسِهِ ثَلَاثًا ثُمَّ يَغْسِلُ سَائِرَ جَسَدِهِ

"Aishah described how the Prophet ﷺ performed Ghusl for Janabah. She said: 'He used to wash his hands three times, then pour water with his right hand onto his left and wash his private part and whatever was on it.' - (One of the narrators) 'Umar said: "I think he said: 'He would pour water with his right hand onto his left hand three times.'" - "Then he would rinse his mouth three times and his nose three times, and wash his face and hands three times, then he would pour water over his head three times, then pour water over himself.'" ابن حبّان:١١٩١أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الْأَزْدِيُّ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنَا عُمَرُ بْنُ عُبَيْدٍ الطَّنَافِسِيُّ عَنْ عَطَاءِ بْنِ السَّائِبِ عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ قَالَ

وَصَفَتْ عَائِشَةُ غُسْلَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ مِنَ الْجَنَابَةِ قَالَتْ «كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ يَغْسِلُ يَدَيْهِ ثَلَاثًا ثُمَّ يُفِيضُ بِيَدِهِ الْيُمْنَى عَلَى الْيُسْرَى فَيَغْسِلُ فَرْجَهُ وَمَا أَصَابَهُ ثُمَّ يُمَضْمِضُ وَيَسْتَنْشِقُ ثَلَاثًا وَيَغْسِلُ وَجْهَهُ وَيَدَيْهِ ثَلَاثًا ثَلَاثًا ثُمَّ يُفِيضُ عَلَى رَأْسِهِ ثَلَاثًا ثُمَّ يَصُبُّ عَلَيْهِ الْمَاءَ»

"A vessel would be brought to the prophet ﷺ then he would pour water on his hand three times and wash them, then he would pour water with his right hand onto his left and wash off whatever was on his thighs. Then he would wash his hands, rinse his mouth and nose, pour water on his head three times, then pour water over the rest of his body." (Using translation from Nasāʾī 245)   

الكبرى للنسائي:٢٣٩أَخْبَرَنَا مَحْمُودُ بْنُ غَيْلَانَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا النَّضْرُ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنَا شُعْبَةُ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا عَطَاءُ بْنُ السَّائِبِ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ أَبَا سَلَمَةَ أَنَّهُ دَخَلَ عَلَى عَائِشَةَ فَسَأَلَهَا

عَنْ غُسْلِ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ مِنَ الْجَنَابَةِ؟ فَقَالَتْ كَانَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ «يُؤْتَى بِإِنَاءٍ فَيُصَبُّ عَلَى يَدَيْهِ ثَلَاثًا ثُمَّ يَصُبُّ بِيَمِينِهِ عَلَى شِمَالِهِ فَيَغْسِلُ مَا عَلَى فَخِذَيْهِ ثُمَّ يَغْسِلُ يَدَيْهِ وَيُمَضْمِضُ وَيَسْتَنْشِقُ وَيَصُبُّ عَلَى رَأْسِهِ ثَلَاثًا ثُمَّ يُفِيضُ عَلَى سَائِرِ جَسَدِهِ»
