'A'isha, the wife of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, said that between the time when the Messenger of Allah ﷺ finished the 'Isha' prayer which is called 'Atama by the people, he used to pray eleven rak'ahs, uttering the salutation at the end of every two rak'ahs, and observing the Witr with a single one. And when the Mu'adhdhin had finished the call (for the) dawn prayer and he saw the dawn clearly and the Mu'adhdhin had come to him, he stood up and prayed two short rak'ahs. Then he lay down on his right side till the Mu'adhdhin came to him for lqama. [Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to pray eleven rak'ahs between the completion of 'Isha prayer, which is when people are called to the darkness of dawn, and the dawn prayer. In each set of two rak'ahs, he would recite the salaam. Additionally, he would perform one witr rak'ah. When the muezzin finished calling for the dawn prayer and the dawn appeared to him, and the muezzin came to him, he would stand and perform two light rak'ahs, then lie down on his right side until the muezzin came to him with the call to establish the prayer.

[Machine] Aisha, the wife of the Prophet ﷺ , said: The Prophet ﷺ used to pray eleven Rak'ahs (units of prayer) between the end of the night prayer (Isha) and the dawn prayer (Fajr). He would offer the Salaam (concluding the prayer) after every two Rak'ahs, and he would perform the Witr prayer (an odd-numbered prayer) with one Rak'ah. He would also make a long prostration, equivalent to reciting fifty verses of the Qur'an, before raising his head (from prostration). When the caller to prayer finishes the Fajr prayer and the dawn becomes clear to him, the Prophet ﷺ would get up and pray two light Rak'ahs, and then he would lie down on his right side until the caller to prayer comes to give the call for the Iqamah (the final announcement before prayer). He would then come out with the caller to prayer. Some of them add a little to this.
