[Machine] I said to Ibn Abbas, "I am a fast reader, I quickly memorize the Quran." So Ibn Abbas said, "I encourage you to recite Surah Al-Baqarah and memorize it, as I love reciting it more than reciting the entire Quran in a hurrying manner."
قُلْتُ لِابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ إِنِّي سَرِيعُ الْقِرَاءَةِ إِنِّي أَهُذُّ الْقُرْآنَ فَقَالَ ابْنُ عَبَّاسٍ لَأَنْ أَقْرَأَ سُورَةَ الْبَقَرَةِ فَأُرَتِّلُهَا أَحَبُّ إِلَيَّ مِنْ أَنْ أَقْرَأَ الْقُرْآنَ كُلَّهُ هَذْرَمَةً
[Machine] I said to Ibn Abbas, "I am a fast reader. I read the Quran in three nights." He said, "I would prefer that you read Surah Al-Baqarah in one night, contemplating its meaning and reciting it slowly, as it is dearer to me."
قُلْتُ لِابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ إِنِّي سَرِيعُ الْقِرَاءَةِ إِنِّي أَقْرَأُ الْقُرْآنَ فِي ثَلَاثٍ قَالَ لَأَنْ أَقْرَأَ الْبَقَرَةَ فِي لَيْلَةٍ فَأَتَدَّبَّرَهَا وَأُرَتِّلَهَا أَحَبُّ إِلَيَّ أَنْ أَقَرَأَهَا كَمَا تَقْرَأُ
[Machine] I said to Ibn Abbas, "I am a fast reader. I quickly recite the Quran." Ibn Abbas replied, "Because I recite Surah Al-Baqarah and I prefer to recite it more than reciting the entire Quran hastily."
قُلْتُ لِابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ إِنِّي سَرِيعُ الْقِرَاءَةِ إِنِّي أَهُذُّ الْقُرْآنَ فَقَالَ ابْنُ عَبَّاسٍ لِأَنْ أَقْرَأَ سُورَةَ الْبَقَرَةِ فَأُرَتِّلُهَا أَحَبُّ إِلَيَّ مِنْ أَنْ أَقْرَأَ الْقُرْآنَ كُلَّهُ هَذْرَمَةً
"عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ قال: لأنْ أَقْرَأَ الْبَقَرَةَ أُرتِّلُهَا أَحَبُّ إِلَىَّ منْ أَنْ أهُذَّ (* * *) الْقُرآنَ كُلَّهُ".
