I did not hear the Messenger of Allah ﷺ making a concession for anything people say falsely except in three matters. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ would say: I do not count as a liar a man who puts things right between people, saying a word by which he intends only putting things right, and a man who says something in war, and a man who says something to his wife, or a wife who says something to her husband.  

سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ يُرَخِّصُ فِي شَىْءٍ مِنَ الْكَذِبِ إِلاَّ فِي ثَلاَثٍ كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ لاَ أَعُدُّهُ كَاذِبًا الرَّجُلُ يُصْلِحُ بَيْنَ النَّاسِ يَقُولُ الْقَوْلَ وَلاَ يُرِيدُ بِهِ إِلاَّ الإِصْلاَحَ وَالرَّجُلُ يَقُولُ فِي الْحَرْبِ وَالرَّجُلُ يُحَدِّثُ امْرَأَتَهُ وَالْمَرْأَةُ تُحَدِّثُ زَوْجَهَا  

I did not hear the Messenger of Allah ﷺ making a concession for anything people say falsely except in three matters. سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يُرَخَّصُ فِي شَيْءٍ مِنَ الْكَذِبِ إِلَّا فِي ثَلَاثٍ الرَّجُلِ يَقُولُ الْقَوْلَ يُرِيدُ بِهِ الْإِصْلَاحَ وَالرَّجُلِ يَقُولُ الْقَوْلَ فِي الْحَرْبِ وَالرَّجُلِ يُحَدِّثُ امْرَأَتَهُ وَالْمَرْأَةِ تُحَدِّثُ زَوْجَهَا  

[Machine] I have never seen the Messenger of Allah ﷺ give permission to lie except in three cases. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ did not consider it lying when a person reconciled between people and exaggerated in his words to achieve reconciliation, a person spoke about war, and a woman narrated to her husband, and a woman narrated to her husband.  

مَا رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يُرَخِّصُ فِي الْكَذِبِ فِي شَيْءٍ إِلَّا فِي ثَلَاثٍ كَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ لَا يَعُدُّهُ كَذِبًا «الرَّجُلُ يُصْلِحُ بَيْنَ النَّاسِ يَزِيدُ فِي الْقَوْلِ يُرِيدُ بِهِ الْإِصْلَاحَ وَالرَّجُلُ يَقُولُ فِي الْحَرْبِ وَالرَّجُلُ يُحَدِّثُ امْرَأَتَهُ وَالْمَرْأَةُ تُحَدِّثُ زَوْجَهَا»  

[Machine] I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ granting permission for lying except in three cases. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to say, "I do not consider it a lie for a man to reconcile between people, a man speaking during war, and a woman conveying what her husband says."

أَنَّهَا سَمِعَتْ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ لَا يُرَخَّصُ فِي شَيْءٍ مِنَ الْكَذِبِ إِلَّا فِي ثَلَاثٍ كَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ «لَا أَعُدُّهُ كَذِبًا الرَّجُلُ يُصْلِحُ بَيْنَ النَّاسِ يَقُولُ الْقَوْلَ يُرِيدُ الصَّلَاحَ وَالرَّجُلُ يَقُولُ الْقَوْلَ فِي الْحَرْبِ وَالرَّجُلُ يُحَدِّثُ امْرَأَتَهُ وَالْمَرْأَةُ تُحَدِّثُ زَوْجَهَا» خَالَفَهُ يُونُسُ بْنُ يَزِيدَ  

"لا أَعُدُّه كاذِبًا الرَّجُلُ يُصلحُ بينَ النَّاسِ، يَقُولُ القَوْلَ لا يُريدُ بِه إِلا الإِصْلاحَ، والرجلُ يقولُ في الحرْبِ، والرجلُ يُحَدِّثُ امْرأَتَه، وَالمَرْأَةُ تُحَدِّثُ زَوْجَها".  

"عَنْ أُمِّ كلْثُوم بِنْت عُقْبَة قَالَتْ: سَمِعْتُ (* *) رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ يُرَخصُ فِى شئٍ مِنَ الكَذِب إلا فِى ثَلَاث، كَانَ رَسُول اللَّهِ ﷺ لَا أعدّهُ كَذِبَا (* * *) الرَّجُل يصلِحُ بَيْن النَّاسِ يَقُولُ القَولَ لَا يُريِدُ بِهِ إِلَّا الإصْلَاح، والرَّجُلُ يَقُولُ الْقَول فِى الْحرب، والرَّجُلُ يُحَدِّثُ امْرأَتَهُ، وَالْمَرأَةُ تُحَدِّثُ زَوْجَهَا".
