[Machine] The Messenger of Allah (Peace be upon him) said, "Indeed, Bilal calls for the prayer at night, so continue eating and drinking until Ibn Umm Maktum calls for the prayer." Ibn Shihab said, "Ibn Umm Maktum was a blind man who did not call for the prayer until it was said to him, 'You have become morning, you have become morning.'"

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ إِنَّ بِلَالًا يُنَادِي بِلَيْلٍ فَكُلُوا وَاشْرَبُوا حَتَّى يُنَادِيَ ابْنُ أُمِّ مَكْتُومٍ قَالَ ابْنُ شِهَابٍ وَكَانَ ابْنُ أُمِّ مَكْتُومٍ رَجُلًا أَعْمَى لَا يُنَادِي حَتَّى يُقَالُ لَهُ أَصْبَحْتَ أَصْبَحْتَ

My father said that Allah s Apostle said, "Bilal pronounces 'Adhan at night, so keep on eating and drinking (Suhur) till Ibn Um Maktum pronounces Adhan." Salim added, "He was a blind man who would not pronounce the Adhan unless he was told that the day had dawned."

Yahya related to me from Malik from Abdullah ibn Dinar from Abdullah ibn Umar that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Bilal calls the adhan whilst it is still night so eat and drink until Ibn Umm Maktum calls the adhan."  

مالك:٣-١٥حَدَّثَنِي يَحْيَى عَنْ مَالِكٍ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ دِينَارٍ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُمَرَ

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ قَالَ إِنَّ بِلاَلاً يُنَادِي بِلَيْلٍ فَكُلُوا وَاشْرَبُوا حَتَّى يُنَادِيَ ابْنُ أُمِّ مَكْتُومٍ

Yahya related to me from Malik from Ibn Shihab from Salim ibn Abdullah that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Bilal calls the adhan in the night, so eat and drink until Ibn Umm Maktum calls the adhan." Ibn Umm Maktum was a blind man who did not call the adhan until someone said to him, "The morning has come. The morning has come."  

مالك:٣-١٦وَحَدَّثَنِي عَنْ مَالِكٍ عَنِ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ عَنْ سَالِمِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ قَالَ إِنَّ بِلاَلاً يُنَادِي بِلَيْلٍ فَكُلُوا وَاشْرَبُوا حَتَّى يُنَادِيَ ابْنُ أُمِّ مَكْتُومٍ قَالَ وَكَانَ ابْنُ أُمِّ مَكْتُومٍ رَجُلاً أَعْمَى لاَ يُنَادِي حَتَّى يُقَالَ لَهُ أَصْبَحْتَ أَصْبَحْتَ

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Indeed, Bilal calls the Adhan at night, so eat and drink until you hear the Adhan of Ibn Umm Maktum." And Ibn Umm Maktum was a blind man who could not see, and he would not give the Adhan until the people say, 'Give the Adhan, you have become morning.'"

[Machine] Narrated by Al-Qa'nabi from Malik from Ibn Shihab from Salim ibn Abdullah from his father that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "Indeed, Bilal calls the adhan at night, so continue to eat and drink until the adhan of Ibn Umm Maktum is called." Ibn Shihab said: Ibn Umm Maktum was a blind man who would not call the adhan until it was said to him: 'You have come to the morning, you have come to the morning.'  

ابن حبّان:٣٤٦٩أَخْبَرَنَا الْفَضْلُ بْنُ الْحُبَابِ الْجُمَحِيُّ

حَدَّثَنَا الْقَعْنَبِيُّ عَنْ مَالِكٍ عَنِ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ عَنْ سَالِمِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ عَنْ أَبِيهِ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ قَالَ «إِنَّ بِلَالًا يُنَادِي بِلَيْلٍ فَكُلُوا وَاشْرَبُوا حَتَّى يُنَادِيَ ابْنُ أُمِّ مَكْتُومٍ» قَالَ ابْنُ شِهَابٍ وَكَانَ ابْنُ أُمِّ مَكْتُومٍ رَجُلًا أَعْمَى لَا يُنَادِي حَتَّى يُقَالَ لَهُ قَدْ أَصْبَحْتَ قَدْ أَصْبَحْتَ

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ إِنَّ بِلَالًا يُنَادِي بِلَيْلٍ فَكُلُوا وَاشْرَبُوا حَتَّى يُنَادِيَ ابْنُ أُمِّ مَكْتُومٍ قَالَ ابْنُ شِهَابٍ وَكَانَ ابْنُ أُمِّ مَكْتُومٍ رَجُلًا أَعْمَى لَا يُنَادِي حَتَّى يُقَالَ لَهُ أَصْبَحْتَ أَصْبَحْتَ
